Say Hi if you want to

Well I'm kicking this one off as I have seen a lot of new names appearing on the forums and the staff are being as helpful and welcoming as they can but I thought it might be kinda kool to have a thread running so that you can get to introduce yourself to the community, if you so want to of course!!

Well, I'm Mark, 33 years young and I am a UK staffer here on the CoV board.

In CoH you'll find me as Firespray and Flat Line on the Defiant server and in CoV you'll find me as Thuggernaut and Stewie and WarShadow II on Defiant as well - those are my mains that I play the most!

Having a minimum 5 hour time difference and being unable to play on the US servers is a bit of a pain but I got a lot of friends here, a lot in game in CoH and carried over to CoV and a bunch of all new friends.

Im a qualified health and safety officer and work for local government in my home town, having a partial responsibility along with other safety officers for 26500 staff and am 'personally' safety advisor to around 600 staff now we've recently expanded our directorate!! Its a fun job I guess, pays the bills!

I'm a star wars fan I guess. I never grew up from the 5 year old in 1977 who saw the movie and was transported into George Lucas' galaxy hehehe.

Erm what else can I say... erm I like a wide variety of music, from movie soundtracks to classical, from abba to ZZ top, throw in some Kylie and Madonna, Limp Bizkit, Def Leppard, Metallica, All American Rejects, Jesse McCartney (the shame I know) Japanese pop and good ol Bucks Fizz :o) Eclectic taste it may be but its a wide variety of genres, mainly tho 80s cheesy pop music hehehe

TV shows - Family Guy, Will and Grace, Sex and the City, The Simpsons, Star Trek, 24, Doctor Who, American Dad, Farscape (burn sci fi channel execs burn!!!), CSI, CSI: Miami (not seen NY one yet) and the usual mix of cartoons and other mad shows.

movies - sci fi, action, a little bit of horror not too much tho!

Oh yeah, not a biggie for me as I've already told half the site lol, but I am gay. For me in the UK that's no big thing and after gettting kicked from a team in CoH several months ago now I came to the gameamp community and asked advice without thinking about it. I have never once received any bad responses from anyone. I'm ok with it and it's who I am. I'm still just a normal gamer with an evil streak and a kickass sense of humour.

So yeah, thats about it from me if you wanna PM me about anything, please feel free and feel free to throw down your details and say hi to the CoV community!

Well I'm new to most of this stuff. I used to play the hell out of Diablo 1&2, but this is my first serious on-line game. And this is the first one to ever get me going to any web sites about.

My name is Mike and I live in Pittsburgh. I'm 33 years old. I've been playing CoH for about a year off and on. I keep moving so half my time is without internet connection. I'm hopefully settled now. Now I'm hooked on CoV, and I usually play a few hours a day on Liberty server. Cillion is my scrapper, and Ramier is my stalker. I have several others, but those two are my mains.

I am currently in charge of security for a major clothing company. So I sit at a desk all day, and check out the site to see if there is anything I might want to know. Most of the time I solo, but I like to team from time to time. It's hard to find a good team, and most of the time they seam to get me killed. If anyone on Liberty sees me running around, say something. I would enjoy teaming with someone with some brains for a change.

Hi! I am pretty new to all this. I played Diablo 1 & 2 but never online. Now I am hooked on CoV. I play a Dominator named Contessa Belle Morte on Liberty. I have a Super Group called Mephisto's Court with over 60 members and growing still. I am 24 and live in Georgia.

My name's Ron. I'm an aries living in sunny Fort Myers, FL (although it's not sunny today) recently transplanted from Providence, RI. I enjoy long walks on the beach at night. I have a cat named Rigel. I'm a bartender. I'm 32 years old. I started online gaming with some VERY old BBS games (Tradewars, Global War and a few others), moved on to some MUDs (mirkwoodmud.org port 4000) and eventually a friend got me into City of Heroes and I was hooked ever since. My name is Elvis (yes really) and i am 31 (32 on christmas) and live in GA. I am a district manager for a cell phone company and got transfered from the Tampa Bay area at the begining of this year.
I am married and have 3 kids. i have a son who is almost 14 that lives in La with his mom and a son,3, and daughter,4, that live with us.
I am a big video game player that mostly plays consoles. the only games i have ever spent a lot of time playing on the computer are COH/COV, and the Blizrard games.
I also really like Horror films and try to watch all of them that i can. i listen to all sorts of music but prefer heavier rock (metal, industrial, etc)

My personal COV theme is the greatest movie tagline ever, from The Texas chainsaw masacare...

Hello fellow gamers,

My name is Michael and I live in the City of Broad Shoulders, The Windy City, Chicago.

I am 39 years old and until I picked up COH this past July had never played an online game in my life. Now I play nearly every night I am not working on my house. I am mostly playing COV right now and live on the Pinnacle Server with my main man "Reckon Ball" the Brute. I also appear in COV as Burning Flesh, Arc, and one or two others. I am mostly soloing with my Brute and loving it.

Born 2 days before the premiere of Star Trek it is heavily in my blood and I do consider myself a die hard Trek Fan. I love all sci-fi and have started collecting all DVD's having to do with Superheroes. Smallville, Black Scorpion, Wonder Woman, to many animated series to mention.

I collect comic books and currently hover somewhere around the 17-18,000 mark in books collected.

I work in the advertising duplication and distribution business so please watch the commercials that come on as that will help me keep my job. Come on now Christmas and then the Super Bowl are the best commercial times of the year.

Oh yea, single, no kids.

My name is Sara I'm 27 and live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I'm married with a 11 mo. old daughter. I currently work mainly in mutual fund trading for a financial institution. I got into CoH back in beta and it has been my first and only mmo(assuming you include CoV in the same mix)although I've played a few FPS in my time. I'm kind of an odd one, I like football, hockey and soccer(that other football) and my favorite drink is whiskey :P I've been around computers almost my whole life as my dad decided to buy an Apple IIc when I was five(it still works and I love playing games on the 9" greenscale monitor) So I too was there for the bbs days, could program really well in basic, and have built my last three computers. I listen to most types of music, with the exceptions of country and most rap. I mainly listen to punk/alternative type music, Radiohead, REM, The White Stripes, The Muffs, The Soviettes, Dillanger Four etc... well i'm running out of stuff to say so I'll leave it there for now.

Well, I guess I'll throw down, too. I'm Allen (middle name), I play a mean tuba, and I like to sit by a roaring fire and eat Doritos. OK, maybe not the fire part. I've been a gaming junkie since the NES came out, though my thumbs got tired very eraly on, and I switched over to mouse and keyboard games. I work for an entertainment vending company in South Georgia, though I'm trying to get hired on at the same comany shpadoinkle works at. I've been playing CoH/CoV for almost a year now, and my altoholism and faulty internet connection has kept my highest character to only 28(Koi Hasu - Justice server). I'm 24, single, sci-fi junkie. I love Firefly, Star Trek and Wars, House, Las Vegas, Bones, Killer Instint, and Scrubs. My favorite music is country, though I do listen to a little rock, blues, and very small amounts of pop.

Hey all. My name is Don. I am 55 years old & as far as I can tell am the oldest kid playing this game, (only 1 other 50+ person playing & I still got 4 yrs. on him). I am a semi-retired college prof, (Health & Phys. ed. Specialty: Olympic Style Fencing Instructor), that was shanghied by my son to serve as Nanny/Slave to my 5 yr. old grandaughter while he goes & plays sailor for the U.S. Navy. (13 yrs. before th mast now). His wife is Japanese & due to some immigration paperwork lag & a good job back in Japan they decided to recruit me to serve until his duty station changes & he can return to Japan next Aug.

So I am currently liveing on Guam just the other side of the international dateline so I live about 17 hrs. into the future for those of you liveing in the Central time zone.
It's 9:30 am Thurs. morning Dec. 1st here & I think it's about 6:30 pm Wed. Nov. 30 back home in Oklahoma City where I hail from.

As I was saying, I was press-ganged into this job last Feb. At the time I was completely computer illiterate. My son decided to change my Cyber-space vacume & introduced me to CoH back around the 1st. of March. I started a couple of toons & finally settled on a magic/fireblaster named Tonker on Champion server that I made my main & hit level 50 back in August. This game is a gas! Between my son & I we have created over 40 toons. Most of the toons I have created are on Champion, (only have 1 slot left & that will be for my Brute when I hit cap with my CoV main).

Growing up in the 50's was great, I wouldn't trade that experience for anything. I was, (& still am), a devoted fan of the old Flash Gorden serials that I used to run home after school & watch on an old Magnavox Vacume-tube B&W TV that was about the size of a modern Washing machine with about a 12-14 inch round picture tube. When you turned it on your hair would stand on end from the tube powering up & your ears would almost burn from the whine that those old vacume tubes would make as they heated up & the Ozone smell would almost drive you out of the room. It's been fun growing up & witnessing Space flight evolve over the years.

I was also a devoted comic book fan. My Grandfather owned a Drugstore in downtown OKC & my Mom & dad would go pick him up & take him home of an evening. One of the things he had in his store, (along with a Soda fountain & Barber chair that he also offered haircuts with), was a HUGE magazine exchange. I had unlimited access to all the comic books I could carry home! I had a stack of comic books in the bathroom over 2 ft. high, (WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THERE?), ever since I could read. That stack would probably be worth about 2 billion dollars today, but over the years it disintegrated & Mom would throw them away so it"s all just memories now.

Now comes CoH/CoV. I have regressed to my childhood days again & I really thank my son for turning me on to this game. (He probably regrets it, he gets P O'd when he gets home & wants to play Star Wars & he cant get me to log).

My main on CoV is BunnyRat, (My Grandaughter helped me create her, I'm colorblind so she helped me get her ears & tail the right color pink). Got that name when my then 4 yr. old Daughter, (now mother of my other 4 grandkids in Louisiana), saw the Easter Bunny & screamed LOOK AT THE BUNNYRAT!

BunnyRat is a lvl 31 MM on Champion, so if you see a large hairy, (definatly female), rat running around with an army of robots following her, remember, she's older than she looks...........

Hi ..I am a 27 year old Computer Science major. I graduated in May of this year. I code in C++, Java, assembly and PHP/SQl I am married and live in the hurricane state... South Florida.... because of this i have lost power many times and the latest was 13 days ...There was nothing really bad about not having power except for one thing " I could't play Guild Wars ...i was going crazy." Well hurricane season is over today..However i am moving before next season starts...that is for sure.

Hey everyone! My name is DaRon. I'm a 26yrold Air Force member of 8yrs.

I began my obssession of MMOs back in 2000 with Ultima Online (Chessy). I moved from ultima over to EQ for a little bit but couldn't get into it. I went back to Ultima until AO came out. But that game was such a mess I threw it at a wall.

After being relieved of that crap, I picked up DAOC and got overly addicted to pvping. When they started introducing too much change I tested Horizons. Again I threw it up against a wall. Went back to DAOC. Next I tested my worth in SWG. OMG I ran that one over with my car multiple times then threw it on the highway.

The release of Shadowbane was probably the most exciting days of my life.. I played it for what seems like forever. They started consolodating servers and changing maps.

So I logged off when to the Base Exchange and picked up CoH. I literally played the game for 2 weeks and went back to Shadowbane. CoH lacked the pvp I craved after being a backstabbing freak in Shadowbane.

World of Warcraft released and I was all over it. The pvp was too flippin impossible for me. My guild (shout out to Panther Moderns) had the lvls on me and were in competition with our rival guilds from Shadowbane to be the best so there was not much helping the lowbies (which I was compared to them) going on. So I logged on sparingly to say Hi and such things like that.

Guildwars released. Played up til I found out that Panther Moderns weren't coming from WoW. Had a good time with GW tho.

At this point I didn't really have a game to play. So I started playing CoH again cause I got the email about giving CoV beta slots to pre-orders and long time account holders. So I preordered. Funny cause by the time I got back from a class I had to take in cali my beta slot was useless cause the flippin retail was out. *sigh* Now I'm in Cov loving it. Hoping to find a large equally bloodthirsty pvp guild to ruin a heros life in... I started a guild with my GF and my buddy from Shadowbane but it only contains our toons. We haven't recruited any1 only because we wanna establish our core and what will be our primary pvp toons b4 we get too involved with guild politics and that mess. The guild's name at this point is called

And as for real life..... Well if you read this whole thing you prolly know that I really dunno what that is.

Hi to ya Steel! There is an inmates of the gameamp asylum group out there that anyone from gameamp can join, not sure what server its on tho. I'm sure that one of the members can tell you which one it is as Im sure they want to catch up with the EU defiant servers battle of Sirens Call hero beatdown that we did last weekend!

A lot of fun was had and a HUGE shout out to the kings of Sirens Call - The House of Counted Shadows Villain Group and our ruthless leaders Ogun the DarkHeart and Rhiannon who led us all the way to the Steel Canyon gate / longbow outpost before we got beaten back.

Big thanks to all the defiant players, heroes and villains who made that an enjoyable night.

actually, im gonna add more. I was introduced to gameamp by the wonderful world of google (wasnt everybody :P)I was introduced to CoH by PC gamer. And i hugely thank the good people there for it. My current highest is my lvl 31 blaster, Scotty McPain (hence the name). I was just looking at this site before but i was convinced to register by govtmorgue when i wanted to join the veggie medley. Ok, I guess I'll sign the register as well...

Hi, My name is Jesse and i'm 34. I guess i've been a gamer since....pong and Atari..lol. The first real PC game I was into was Doom..the original and Wing Commander. All of my friends played all the older PC games (but i was very pc illiterate and not that interested in learning then).

I hail from the Show Me State, St. Louis, MO. I used to collect comics, but traded that for CoH/CoV and i'm not regretting it (i still read the CoH/CoV comics...so it kinda works out). I am also a Martial Arts Instructor with my primary discipline in Tae Kwon Do. I also study and practice Hapkido, JuiJitSu, Judo, Kung Fu, MuTai, Wrestling, and Boxing. I also study KenJitsu (Japanese Sword) and I'm here to tell you, it is a blast! Learning the way of the Samurai is a wonderful thing. I am also versed in the use of 6 other weapons as well.

I am employed with a Major Telecommunications company doing Quality Assurance.

I guess I started CoH shortly after it's official release (with the assitance of my friends). Prior, I was basically a console player, now I need someone to purchase a used PS2 and XBox...lol, as I don't play them anymore since CoH/CoV. I got into the beta testing with CoV and have been hooked ever since. I primarily have been devoting all my time to CoV these days.

I have a bunch of CoH alts on Justice, my primary server, a couple of 50s and some throughout the levels (hopefully i'll get some more of them to 50...hopefully) and more on other servers as well.

I only have 2...no 3 CoV villians....my main is 28 claws/ninjitsu Stalker. I have a 11 Necro/Poison MM and I have a 7 energy/kinetics corrupter on the triumph server i beleive (don't quote me on that...lol).

I'm doing my best to stick with my Stalker primarily now, and once he's topped off, i'll move to my MM (and create other alts..lol).

I guess that's it for now.

Hello all...guess its my turn...although i really wanted to be interviewed first :P

My name is Shane, and I am a 23 year old (one of the youngest CoH/CoV staff members) Navy sailor. I have been in for just over four years now, and I really don't work hard. I just work really long hours with people I want to shoot for their stupidity and illogicallity(?). I first started playing video games with my dad on the old Atari system, so yes I do know what you old foggies are talking about when you speak of it (chuckle). I then moved onto the NES platform, and got a little into pc's, but I was a true to do platform gamer for a loooong time. When PS2 came out and game controllers were truelly revolutionized, my friends put me to the test by challenging me to beat a turbo controller on how fast I could hit a button compared to the turbo controller. I proved then and there that my right thumb is indeed faster than a turbo controller. For that reason, my dad had always hated playing hackem slashem games with me because I would put a whomp on his candy arse, but when it came to RPG games, at that time, I was to impatient to ever beat one. I got hooked on CoH when I went to a ex-girlfriend's uncles house. I am still friends of that family (that was the second time dating her yummy arse) and when I got hooked on the game, Uncle Paul told me that if I paid for the account, I could have the whole shebang. So I started paying for the account, playing on weekends, and finally got my own PC to play it on. Since then I have become dangerously addicted to the game, and my girl friend usually has to pry me away from the pc... I found this gamesite one day (I'll wait for the interview on that) and became a known person from that day forth. I really love this community here on Gameamp, and all the members are kickarse in their dealings with others. IF you want more...just wait on the interview that will come in ten years lol.

Great game indeed...I actually had all of them. My only downfall to that game was whenever i had to do any type of escort missions, i'd make it out just fine, my escortees on the other hand....may they rest in pieces...lol.

My name is AJ and I'm 30 yrs old, living near the seacoast region of New Hampshire. I've been married just over 2 yrs to my wife Dawn and we have a yet to be born son due the end of March. I work at Nike Bauer Hockey, some may know the brand, I am the Returns Dept. for the company. We provide retailers with hockey equip. throughout the US, some Canada, and some Europe. Although, we have other warehouses in Canada and Europe. Shhhh, don't tell anyone that I'm not much of a hockey fan!

I can remember playing Odyssey computer system when I was very young, does anyone know this system? Then came Atari and I've been hooked ever since. If I'm not working I'm playing games in one form or another. At work I got my PSP and at home of course I got my PC. I only build my PCs now after a bad experience with a Dell I bought when the P4 first came out. I rarely play my PS2 now that I've developed an addiction to CoH/CoV, but that will change when the PS3 comes out.

open up and unleash The Evil Trinity...Cain, the father of all vampires. Lillith, The
mother of all vampires. Lover of The fallen angel known as Lucifer or Son of Dawn and finally Judas.
Who After betraying Christ and witnessing his cruxifiction he became overwhelmed with guilt and hung himself.
His punishment was far worse than death or hell itself...He would be cursed to roam the
middle ground an undead vessel of hate, guilt and terror. Thirsting and yet unable to quench it.
The Evil Trinity found their gateway to freedom through Selene. Using her body to do their
bidding her Soul thrown down into the pit of despair whence they came, trapped for all
eternity. Only one thing stands between the trinity and their goal for destruction and that is

I have become somewhat of a Badge-o-holic in CoV and I just can not stop collecting them, Its rather fun to see what one can find when flying around and looking for trouble.

Hello all my name is Kelly I'm 27 yrs old and hail from Rhode Island. Ive been playing COH/COV for nearly 2yrs now. I was introduced to the game through my fiancee who brought the game home and we both became so hopelessly addicted that we had to buy a second computer and account because we were fighting over time on the computer lol. I work for a mail/web order company that sell products geared twards the elderly walkers, support hose, canes etc. Im so glad I found this Website It's got lots of good info on it. I was looking for badges and this site helped me get almost all the beacons for my VG teleporter (I'm too low for ST. Martial). My Mains are COH-Raidiant Fury(on Justice) and COV Villainess Vines(on Protector) although I have been accused of being an altoholic lol.
