What difficulty setting do you solo with?

Hey all,

Im just curius as to what difficulty lvl you have it set at for soloing. and what your build is.

Im using relentless and Im a Ninja/Bubbler. oh and Im lvl 21 currently.

I'm wussing it on villainous solo with thug and am lvl 21, almost 22. Occasionally I'll up it one or two but Im not that good for anything higher I tend to get beat up!

I go w/ ruthless, with any of my characters...I have a lvl 28 Stalker and a lvl 24 MM Ninja/Dark. All orange minions, probably 3 to a group, purple boss in the end...tough, but good exp...kinda quick if you pick them off one at a time, but great fun to just rush in. Gives you that shiver in your -ahem- that you're looking for.

I would never solo as that is against the Devs vision of the game.

Also can't remebr the difficulty but it is one up from villianous.

Shortly after I started I teamed with my SG at around lvl 5 or so & was asked to set my difficulty to Vicious with everyone else. I found that I could JUST survive this lvl solo with my Robot/Poison MM. The only problems requireing help being when there were 2 bosses at the end of a mish, or a Hero I had to take out & some Elite Bosses. Often times I would abandon a mish like that & just hold it "in the bag" until I reached the next lvl then re-visit & kick-butt. Only a couple of mish's with Heroes did that not work, although once I held the mish for two lvls & then was able to defeat the Hero involved.

I am now at lvl 31 & Vicious seems to be becomming boreing so today I'm going to toy around with upping the diff by 1 level, then tommorow by 2 to the max to see if I can handle it. I primarily do Solo & am now like 5 levels ahead of the next highest person in the SG. I don't team much because I hate waiting for people to go lvl, sell or recruit, (I'm just as bad as they are, so I can't blame anybody). I just tend to get irritated when I realize I could have finished a mish & started another one in the time it takes for so & so to go pick out his cape.

This doesn't always apply though, I've been on a couple of really good teams & got those by accepting blind invites when I got bored with the grind.

Been soloing Vicious for the past 25 or so lvls. Really fast xp. I tend to make a beeline for the boss. I found that the mission xp bonuses add to fast lving so I get as many of those in the least amount of time I can. Coupled with the yellow to red minions xp runs up rather quickly. But get in and get out is my style anyway.. (grins)

I solo-ed my MM for the first time today. She is level 19 now and I (apperently) play of vicious. In the first 3 or 4 missions I did everything was green and blue, then I finally got send to a new contact (back on Mercy Island) and that mission was filled with orange, red and even a few purple mobs. So I am confuzed. I thought vicious would give me +1 mobs. But in stead I got -2 and +2. I think I'll just go back to teaming again.

Villainous = default

The after villainous (the name escapes me at the moment). Gives you more mobs of your level.

Vicious should give you the same amount of mobs as Villainous with +2 lvls.

The one after Vicious (again the name escapes me) gives you more mobs +2 lvls.

Ruthless..well turn it on and see for yourself. :)

I've been soloing at whatever that 3rd level is. The one that makes all the mobs +1 or +2 to you with the same number. I just started that yesterday, since I'm stuck Newspaper Grinding until I get to 30. (halfway there)

I find I survive very well with the occasional Merc Death. I've been facing a lot of Orange (+2) minions, Red lieutenants and Purple Bosses.

I have been soloing on relentless for a while now. I am a ninja/dark mm that is lv 38 atm.

Relentless is supposed to be the hardest level and the only time i am challenged is when i have to kill a elite boss or hero/arch villian.

So far i cannot solo the hero/arch villians at relentless i have to drop them down to 1 level above me instead of 2 or 3.

Elite bosses are hard but totally killable on relentless if you have the right powers to keep your pets up.

Have even been trying to solo Ghost of Scrapyard only attempted him once and that was at lv 37 and i got him to 60 before he ran off then killed a few of my pets.

Exp is outrageous on relentless at 38 i think the mish bonous is 15k with mobs being anywhere from 600-4k exp a kill.

Level 37 Stalker, been on relentless since somewhere between 25 and 30. Elite Bosses and AV/Heroes are the only things I can't solo on that setting.

I\'m set at default for fighting, I know, wuss! But, since turning 22 with my Merc MM, I\'m going to bump her level up one to see what goes with it. Solo-wise with henchmen, the Mercs are a breeze to solo at villainous. I think the entire run to 22 had me team about 4 levels with other SG mates...that\'s why I\'m obsessed with MM now, when I can normally play is when everyone is in bed (after 12am central) and my little MM is a team in herself which works out fantastic. Now I\'m 4 levels away from having all 5 henchmen. You\'ll hear me crow on the boards when that happens!

When I do get to team with SG mates on my nights off, I try and rotate my other villains and I\'m SKed (don\'t feel like finding the spelling for the CoV version) to their level 36+ villains so my setting is a moot point with them, I\'ll probably bump them up when I get into the upper 20\'s though.

For my MM I generally solo on either Relentless or Vicious, but I may change that, I am currently 28th, and in Port Oaks, Cap au diablo, and sharks head I kept out leveling my contacts.

Also any time I go on a Mayham mission I always change it to Villainous, just because of the Dev's Idea of how many Long bow would be sent to take out a bank robber. =P

I tried and would NOT recommend Ruthless just because of the huge number of LTs and Boss levels that I ran across. (Sorry just dont like haveing 7 LTs in the same room and rarely saw any minions)

I have been thinking that I would tone it down to Malicious so that I might stop outleveling my contacts.

I have also found just how diffrent this setting is for my other Toons. While my brute can keep about the same levels, all others are kept on Villainous. Even then I see diffrences in what I run across.

Just Last night I was playing my Plant/Psy Dom, and while I was running on Villaninous on a paper mission (level 10) all that was in the building where LTs. and the Boss was red.

Heh my first ever toon was a ninja/posion mm and i put him straight on relentless (not knowing what it did at first) and i happily soloed all teh way to cap, but hen i tried to team everyone else jsut complain that i should lower my diff setting and i had no idea how untill someone ecxplain and i was like 'woh **** max differculty, cool go me!' lol

for a ninja/bubbler, if xp is ur main interest, you should definitly set it up all the way, on relentless. its not that hard, but its still the highest at it gives a lot more xp

Well my Necromany/Dark Miasma solos on Vicious...I usually go one above that one, but can't really because he's lvl 40 and gets Arch Villain/Elite Boss missions all the time.

Relentless, easy. I play a 35 Robotics/FF MM on the Victory server and solo all my missions on Relentless. It appears, to me, as though this game is a little on the easy side, particularly for Masterminds. Considering the fact that MMs can solo AV and Elite Missions on Relentless without even breakin a sweat, either the game is too easy or MMs are too powerful. One thing I have noticed, I've watched lower level MMs struggle with the easiest missions. I think MMs are one of the more difficult classes to play, but if done correctly they are the most powerful class in the game.

Welcome to the Dark Side of GameAmp, Dark Cloud Rising; what took you so long? Besides those Guildies dont share the LEGOs. Darn Guildies!

Personally, I mostly ran Ninus up from about 20 onward on Relentless. That is unless I was gearing up for an AV/Hero mission. Then I'd just drop it to Default. I would rather just finish the mission than sit there for an hour trying to get past some Heroes insane regen (y'all remember the Insane Regen Time). Recently, I have also dropped my settings for farming Master Illusionist's Pets. Those darn things are just too much to deal with when I am working at keeping them from dying so I can get one more pet Illusionist spawn. If I was just whacking them, I would leave it at Relentless though. Oh the trials of a badger.

Hello all, my first post.

I raised the difficulty when I acquired my second bot. When I hit 14 I picked up tactics and its been Max difficulty ever since. MMs are offensive jaugernauts in PvE, and can kill just about anything their pets can hit. Tactics narrowed the gap for the L1 pets to hit those pesky purples. Anything less than the toughest was a waste of time. It still took the same number of hits for my bots to put them down, it just rendered less XP.
