| Sometimes odd team combinations... |

Last night was our weekly Hyperforce team night. We were doing mid-30's missions. I had Cosmic Wizard, Solarron was playing his Elec/Ice blaster, Cold Circuit, and another friend was playing her dark/dark, Danan Rho. Two others of our SG friends were enjoying the new jet pack, so they decided to play their ~level 10 toons, one trick-arrow defender and one AR/dev blaster. So, all told, we were three defenders (one sk'ed lowbie) and two blasters (one sk'ed lowbie). To be honest, when we sidekicked the two low-level toons, I kind of thought "we are going to die alot tonight." But that's not how it turned out. We were cutting through everything like butter, surprisingly. We battled Nemesis and Crey all night with very few problems. We had one team wipe but that was when we all blundered around a blind corner into a huge pack of Crey. I think it worked so well because we stayed tight together, moving as a unit. We were much more able to help each other if we stayed close.

I love it when a night like that comes together. Some nights you just never get into your groove, and the deaths are higher than you would want. Some nights the weirdest teams just gel together and devastate the mobs.
I guess it does help when you have a group that you are familiar playing with. I've always liked a team heavy on the Blasters and Defenders, mostly because Blaster is my favorite AT. Large ammounts of damage can be a thing of beauty to behold!

Red/blue and also all blue teams can be very powerful actually all the buff/debuff and damage flying around is great. Not to mention if you have the right kind of Defenders you can turn one of the blasters into a tank :P

That's cool, I will have to tag up with you guys with my Warshade (level 28 now) or my Ill/Storm Troller (should be mid-20s by next Thursday)...I remember that was loads of fun last time I met you guys.

You're always welcome. As I remember, we hunted through Bricks that night. Usually we do missions but a hunt is fun once in a while.

yes it was a fun night. I thouht we were going to get our heads handed to us, but thankfully thnigs worked out very well. Just as a side note, ColdCircuit hit 33 today while teamed with Green Avenger

I love teaming in an over balanced group...my fave group with global heroics had 6 controllers, a blaster and a tank. Need I say there were no deaths on the team, nor much damage to us. LOL The tank was getting mad, cause he didn't have anything to do.
The funniest team I was on had 7 tanks and a blaster...the poor villains were so confused by all the taunting they didn't know what to do. But, it took a long time to bring down an AV.
The funniest on CoV was 6 Master Minds (3 merc, 2 robotics and 1 ninja), 1 Corruptor and 1 Brute. 4 of the MMs had 5 henchmen and the other 2 had a full 6...so that gave us a team of 40 bodies. It was a pure blood bath and very confusing to the eye. Lemme tell ya, even level 38 AVs don't last long in this situation.

I am a blaster and one of the most fun teams I have been on was a team of 8 blasters. It was amusing to see all the red on the team list, but we plowed through the missions. Foes couldn't stay alive enough to really do much damage. It was quite the ego boost for the typically underapreciated and squishy blaster. :)
Yes, odd team combinations can be great.

Full team of controllers has got to be the weirdest and most fun team ive ever been on. The mobs will pretty much never reach you, and the controller inherent is great for this, because you get a dmg bonus on everyguy you hit.

A full team of any one AT can be awesome, really. 8 tanks would take all day to bring down an AV, but on the other hand they would have all day. Nothing can stand before 8 Blasters. Nothing could hurt 8 Defenders enough to matter. 8 Controllers wouldn't see much opposition. Even 8 Scrappers could plow through a mission together with ease with no squishies around to slow them down.

I think the fastest team has to be a team of regen scrappers. No downtime! I was once had my katana/regen teamed with two other regen scrappers (BS and MA). Awesome.

w00t Regen scrappers!
As for odd teams, I did the Psyche task force with the gold guy to the left last week (Gon actually recognized him running around in passing), and I think we had 2 tanks, 4 defenders, a controller, and a scrapper...or something in the ballpark. Talk about low damage. Guess that's why it took us six hours. :)
