Well, I don\'t have Stamina yet with The Big Red Hurt, and here is what I do: I keep beating people down and I don\'t ever stop. Really. I chew inspirations like E.T. eats Reese\'s Pieces. When I am on a team (which I recommend), most of the people who are with me know my style, and they feed me, even at their own expense. I generally don\'t even hear complaints about low end from them, mostly because I tell them to go around the corner and take a knee while I continue the beatdown. And I have noticed that the more full you get your fury bar, the slower it drops. When I have it almost full, a can take a knee for endurance, and still get back up with almost half my fury bar still there.
One more tip - I have a bind I use: /bind v \"powexec_name Sprint\"
This allows me to hit the letter \"v\" with my thumb after a fight is done to toggle on my Sprint, and run to the next battle to toggle it off before I start swinging. It helps keep my fury built.

Yeah, dark is probably the most end intensive brute set.

It also makes a difference on whether you are teaming or not. When you are teaming, you get bigger spawns, resulting in more enemies to swing at (and be swung at by), and longer fights.

teaming does help, as bigger spawns can make a big differnce. also if you want to have a full fury bar attackin even lvl enemys is the way to go. they will hit you less often and hurt you less when they do. my stone one hits white minnions when the bar is full so if the map is good I can herd 2 groups and use a few greens while raising the bar then when it is full just destroy the next 2 or 3 groups easy, then rinse and repeat.

I have end problems too but I just use lots of insp. I plan on avoiding stamina and using end reduction enh when I start using SO. I also may 3 slot rest so I can use it often.

I have a SS/Dark brute named Morbid Morgan, and he has serious endurance issues too... when I leave the AOE damage toggle on. It really puts a hit on your end because that is a really intensive toggle... i think about 4x as much as Dark's defensive toggles are. I'm seriously considering rerolling him and dropping the AOE damage, but I don't know. I think I could go without Stamina without running that toggle, and that frees up 3 slots... but watch out for that toggle, none-the-less. It sucks up a LOT of END.

Suggestion for all you brutes out there.
DO NOT AVOID STAMINA! Brutes need to hit hard, fast and accurately. If you want that fury bar to stay up there, you need to have as little downtime as possible between beatdowns. Stamina will make this possible. Get Stamina and 3 slot it.
Also, this same mode of thinking makes Health extremely handy as well. You will get hit a lot. You're not a Tank, so your hitpoints WILL drop. Get Health and 3 slot it.
I will NOT suggest getting Swift, however. There are a lot of Hostage/Kidnap missions and for some reason, the Citizens are too slow to keep up with a character that has Swift. Save yourself the trouble and get Hurdle instead as the "open up" power for Fitness.
Bottom line, Fitness = Almost Required.

Awww, and here I thought they were trying to avoid those "must take" powers. Those allways annoy me, that to be an effective something I've gotta take this or that power... but I can see the logic.

| QUOTE | | DO NOT AVOID STAMINA |
I will second this. I got Stamina at 22, along with SO's for my defenses, and now the pain train (the Big Red Hurt) has a brand new engine! I don't hardly ever have to stop! I also recommend at least one end reducer per toggle, more if necessary (I have 2 on Unyielding).
| QUOTE | | I will NOT suggest getting Swift, however. |
Full out disagree with this statement. Yes, you might have some troubles with hostage missions. BUT they are not all hostage missions, and the ones that are are easily overcome by just telling you to be smart and make sure you have your hostage with. Pause from time to time. Besides, most maps are convoluted enough to slow you down for the hostage.
The main reason to get Swift? You get to each new battle faster, thereby keeping your Fury bar high. And as you know, Fury is the bread and butter of a brute.

Yes Yes yall and i do stop i guess i have to get staminma before my life stops... atleast with Dark...Armor... its toggle heavy so i believe you need stamina, as for swift i guess it depends on what travel power i have combat jumoping so i have hurdle.
i also have boxing... but now closing in on 24 i guess i dont want it because do i really need tough and weave? i heard ya do... i have EM/DA any suggestions?

It's not really a "requirement", however, it will make your life much easier. Brutes are still a tough bunch, but with stamina, they're tough and unstoppable.
And regarding Nakoma's Swift comments, that is a good point, my only dislike of Swift IS hostage missions. I like the little extra that Hurdle gives you with jumping, but it's certainly not NEEDED. Either one has it's advantages and disadvantages, I suppose. :) My only real use for it is to open up the fitness pool.

I have just two words when it comes to getting fury up. "Auto Brawl". Thats right kiddies, set brawl on auto, and go. I cleared an entire outside map in almost one go by just using brawl and my two lowest attack powers. That's all I had endurance for. Fury was usually between 75% - 90%. When it's that high and you rest, your done before it drops much below 50%. That auto brawl made the difference between 25% max fury and the afore mentioned. And with fury that high, one shot from each of my two low powers dropped an even con minion. Can you see it? Clearing the Plauge Carrier miss, by your self in ten minutes? I did it. :)

That's a very good point about Brawl and the Fury bar. The bar gets more filled the amount of TIMES you hit something and the amount of TIMES you get hit, NOT by the amount of DAMAGE you do or take.
SO, if you're brawling a lot, which recharges in no time and has a minimal animation (it doesn't even put most weapons away) you're going to get that bar filled up nice and quick. With Aurora Australis, I use Brawl ALL the time. I have it slotted with 1 accuracy enhancement so that it hits more often, since that makes the fury bar go up.

I believe that the fury bar gets raised by hits and misses, both from you and your opponents. I've heard that repeatedly around the forums. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

To me, build-up from any set is a must for a damage dealer.

I've given up on worrying about getting my Fury bar to the top. Countless times have I gone into a group of enemies and cracked skulls only to come up short, usually to the N or U in menu. I remember doing this Strike Force and being level 18 going against 20s. I offered to run in and take the aggro and this guy Kinetic Shreech says No I'm ranged, let me do it. I say to myself he's gonna aggro the whole bloody group. So he fires away and sure as I just finished thinking it, he aggroed them all. We all died. Me about 4 or 5 times. I was getting quite mad. I do have sprint bind to r and I team as often as I can. I've got Stamina and Rage and I figure why the heck should I waste my time running around working fury when rage helps. Maybe I need to tell them where to stick it and just keep me alive. Not many people that I know of, other than my SG members would lay their life down for me.

Hello,
I might have to disagree some. When I am solo and working groups with my brute and I combine the Fury power with a high Fury Bar….Look out! I can crush opponents my level, or even Lt.'s my level with my Knockout Blow power. Many times I can finish them off with one hit like that. It is nice to be able to run up to a boss and hit him for half his Hit Points as well.
What I do not like is when your Fury power wears off in front of that same Boss. Then comes the pain. LOL
I learned the trick on this Forum about putting your Brawl on Auto; boy does that make a difference. Though I do not wait to strike until the Bar is high, but when it is I love it.

yeah that auto brawl amde a big difference. I guess i dont yet have room for several small attacks... although i wish i had taken Air Sup instead of combat jump, but hey. currently i have brawl, bone smasher, the punch (not barrage) and mud pots running. now i gotta get hurdle, health, and stam for 20. then i can broaden them horizons on attacks. LOL. still haven't seen full fury yet, but gotten over 3/4. need to up my ante and talk to fortuna again. that and herding will help too.
