How many of you have tried the plant domination powers they rock. I just recently got my fly trap which I nicknamed Audrey II. fly traps are soo cool. I only wish I could really change the name it kinda stinks that only masterminds can name their pets. I may just suggest that to the dev's. I was just seeing how many of you are plant dominators and what you think of the powersets.

I've got a Pland Dominator, and after a bit of thinking decoided that Thorny Assault would be fun.
Turn out I was right!
Once I hold an enemy with my plants, I can run up close and personal and take them out with a few Thorny Assaults while they can't fight back.
Don't forget though, as a Dominator, you're squishy, don't get too close up in the heat of battle with large numbers.

i love my new Plant/fire dom. got him to ten and only really switched just because i realized i hadnt gotten my MM's cape or new costume @ 20. very fun. Love the confusing seeds, very cool. Not big on losing xp, but when im squishy on hard mishy, it helps a great deal. gotta slot that one up. although the sound effects of jungle birds and stuff is wierd. but i love entangle whole crowds. If you're on freedom, give a hollar for grave thorn.

Yes the do rock. i have 2, a L40 Doc Mandrake and a L20 Demon Flower. the 20 solo's on viscious and the 40 on relentless. They are killing machines. As far as losing XP with Seeds, the speed you pick up in killing them makes up, less XP per kill but more kills per minute and to the XP bonus faster.

I teamed with a few plant doms and they rock. One time it was just me and her teaming and we flew right through a longbow mission. I love those creeper vines combined with the confusing seeds(that was the combo she used often)Me being a MM and normally having pets on a defensive stance put them on aggresive just so that i can actually do something before she kills everything.
I love the fly trap thingy(even though i thought it would be bigger like the big one on the nbew mario games.

Oh yes, plant dom's are fun, my plant dom managed to hold an av at one point, and usually doesnt have trouble holding stuff like lts and bosses, i think it will probably be nerfed down to no boss holds which will suck but they'll still be cheap, with seeds of confusion, vines, carrion creepers, a spirit tree if the party has health probs, I usually go around with a Robot/FF mm and a dark/dark brute, thorn skills are pretty good to, the toxic damage is pretty decent, the Fly Trap is hilarious, but useful, and Domination + Plant Skills = Fun, I usually see domination all over the place and it really a fun and cheap character to play as in a team or even soloing, they work best in teams though. Cant wait to see what kind of Epic PPools they'll have for dom's.

I have a Plant/plant dom which is only lvl 10. I love the powers and can't wait to get to my fly trap..
If people could maybe write down there power sets that be helpful to see.
I have to say the thorn powers are cooooool...

I've been running a Plant/Fire dominator and keep having a problem. Most of my attacks are AoEs and I keep drawing ALL of the aggro - even when I'm teaming and have a brute or scrapper.
Any suggestions on how to temper the aggro, but still be useful to the team?

With the group immobilizes and holds, you shouldn't need to be drawing the aggro, if everyone else is doing their job properly. Roots, Vines, Carrion Creepers, Consume, Combustion and Fire breath are all attacks that can draw aggro(especially the assault powerset obviously). So in order to not become an aggro magnet, avoid any fiery melee attacka that have anything to do with AoE and concentrate on the single targeted ones. Dominators don't need to be AoE nuking, it'll get them killed. Respec(if you're a high level) or plan ahead if you're not.

Would psy make a good secondary to follow up with plant primary, cause i want to make either a plant/thorns or a plant/psy.
Which in your opinion (and why) is better?

I wanted to test that combination myself, I have a seperate plant/thorny and mind/psi, so it's only natural for me to merge them heh.
Yes, this is a good combo. Plant control is one of the best control powersets, and with something like Psionic Assault(Note that psionic damage is rarely resisted) complimenting it, you have yourself a dominator who can dominate while dishing out excellent damage.
The way I use my mind/psi's secondary set allows me to benefit from the -Recharge most of the psionic attacks do. If you use it right, it makes a good PvP build.
