If they do anything at all, look for it around Wednesday or Thursday. They did the Halloween stuff around 4 days before the holiday. I don't see why Christmas would be any different. But you have to remember, gratned Christmas is a world Holiday, it is a religious one, and not everyone celebrates it. You would possible see a Christmas path for a few days, I'd like to see it.
I don't celebrate X-Mas, but I wanta damn Snowman Helm or a Santa Hat to go with my Pumpkin Helm. xD Something for the New Year would be more likely, as it is something for everyone. But a Christmas patch could end up offending alot of people.

Well u can say that not everybody celebrates Xmas but only america celebrates Haloween so it will be very strange when they do nothing or just 2 days something with xmas... some ppl on GW ( just been online for asking some ppl ) say that Arenanet is busy with the shit and how longer its takes how better is gonna be..

The US isn't the only ones that celebarte Halloween. It is a world Holiday, or rather it is celebrated in other nations. I talk to people from France, England, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Japan on a regular basis, and they said they celebrate Halloween on the same night we do.

acctually, and i doubt many of you knew this but, halloween is a religious festival. It was originally christian, it was all hallows eve, the day before all saints day, so, even tho it has been changed slightly, halloween is a christian festival/holiday and so therefor they have no reson not to have christmas.
On the other hand if the are afraid to have a christian holiday thing on an internationl game they could do this.
Have one capital for each religion. Say have Ascalon for christmas, LA for Hanukkah and so on, that way most ppl will be happy, but i guess most ppl want to have a christmassy theme so i don't see them not haveing one

That sound like a good idea. And I had no idea that Halloween was a christian holiday. I did know it was called All Hallows Eve, and that is what I always call it on that night. But as for it being a christian holiday.. that's a major bummer....

Hmmm... Guild Wars Santa Lore...???
Shouldn't be too difficult, obviously I've only seen 3 children throughout the whole game, but I'm sure there are a few hiding in all the buildings scattered around Tyria.
You just fit it in, like we have into our associated cultures...

A friendly Deldrimor Dwarf known as Saint Nicholas (Santa Claus) frequently traded with the people of Ascalon, a place where he bought his treasured Red Coat from Alison the Tanner. During his travels, the White-bearded fellow would find and save trinkets which he would leave in Storage at his home in Marhan's Grotto. He would distribute these gifts during the Winter months - when most the people needed a little cheering up...

hmm, im not sure that they will even do anything for christmas, I wouldn't blame them. Sure, it would be awesome to have both a pumpkin head AND a santa hat, but I would prefer them put the use to Chapter Two, in hopes that it will come out sooner than July. But man, I would LOVE to see it be Christmas in Tyria...but I'm not getting my hopes up :/

I would love to see them working on getting CH2 released early... I got Chapter pre-ordered, with a release date of Feb 6... Not sure how accurate this estimate is...
But surely they could spare a few hours, per team member, per week... bringing a little festive to cheer to the people who'll be buying the second chapter.

they will put up christmas because christmas is not a religious holiday christmas was created by pagans before christ was born. i am a christian dont get me wrong but christmas was celebrated by pagans first so they have no excuse by not puting a christmas theme on

Actually, just about every \"christian\" holiday was originally pagan in nature. The early christian church was trying to convert many of the pagans to christianity and one of the ways they did that was by commandeering several of the pagan holidays and adapting them to the christian faith.
For example, Christmas falls almost exactly (within three days) on the pagan holiday of Yule. Halloween (or rather, All saints day and All hallows eve) is close to Hallows, and Easter is around the time of the spring equinox (and besides, what do Eggs and rabbits have to do with the resurrection of the christ? Pickle your brains on that one for a while)
I\'m of mixed feelings as to whether or not they\'ll do something for christmas, though I\'d like to see SOMETHING done, even if it\'s minor. (like maybe put up some lights on a few trees). Though I\'m with the people that want to see extra effort put into the release of chapter 2.

You know what would really be funny? if they didn't do anything at all for christmas and everyone got all dissapointed. They could be like the Grinch and steal christmas from GW. I dunno in a twisted way that would be kind of funny since everyone is all excited and this is the chance for ANet to get revenge on all you people for always putting down them and the poor froggie.

There you go. Have a new quest for people with characters that has beat the games story. A new quest to save Christmas. You can even get it from Glint. ^_^

I think it would be really cool if Anet took the pagan slant - be more fitting to the feel of the game. Christmas was moved closer to Winter Solstice (21st) to appease the pagans to get them in to christianity and santa as we know him (big white beard and red clothes) was an invention of the coca cola company.

Since not everyone reads multiple boards, I thought I would share this post with everyone here (much better community, btw) This was posted on Guild Hall online, today, 21 Dec, at 01;53 am:
| QUOTE (\"Gaile Gray\") | Hi, guys,
You know we're major lovers of holidays. Look at Halloween -- days of growing fun, new things to see, hear, and do, and a fantastic finale in The Mad King. We wouldn't let this season pass without note, you can be sure of it!
When? Well, I have a feeling it'll be within the next, oh, 24 hours or so. It could be a little longer before it starts, but that's what I'm thinkin'. What will you see? Hear? Do? Aww, now, that would be telling! Put it this way: It's not a \"toss in a wreath and some holly leaves and call it done.\" It's a rolling event with lots for you to experience over the coming days, so you'll want to check in often. And for those of you on the \"Nice, Not Naughty\" list, yes, there will be presents of several kinds.
See you in Tyria, and all our best for a \"Merry Christmas,\" a \"Happy Hanukkah,\" and a \"Joyous Tyrian Winter Festival,\" too!

No offense but Australia doesn't celebrate halloween, not like christmas, you would be lucky if you get 5 people who trick or treat and the majority of people just dont give a stuff.
