Obviosly the Superior Absoprtion is worth it. But What about The otheres like Swordsmanship and the like that cost you -75 Health. It just doesnt seem worth it. Especialy if you a runner. What do you think?

eum, rune-setup depends on ur build. U can always try out new builds and buy runes for them, if money is not an isue u can buy several armors with runes on to switch builds very fast.

First I will say I don't use a superior absorbtion - I'm too cheap to buy one. If I find one, I will use it.
I also wouldn't buy a superior vigor. 10x the cost for 9 more health than a major.
I do use a superior of the main skill for each of my characters though. For running, my warrior has a second set of gloves (where I put the superior) that I use without any rune on it.

why do you use superior for running(other than absorbtion and vigor)?
You want all the health you can get, and is superior worth the extra 2-3 seconds you get off sprint or charge?
I get 13 seconds out of sprint and 11 out of charge and both skills off only minor tactics & strength, and both have recharge times of 20seconds so that is more than plenty for a good buffer.
Currently I just have major abs/vigor and Im at 595 health enchanted or hexed due to shields & Axe Grips, great for running.

Just be careful not to stack too many on you. There has been times where we, the monks in the team, have not been able to rez someone long enough to keep them alive. They rez and die at most instantly...too many runes. Even when one monk rezed and the other healed.

I have spellcasters and tanks, and I haven't found the need for a superior rune (other than vigor/absorbtion and runes for solo monk). I like a lot of health and that +1 doesn't always make a big difference.

Runes are used based on opinion. To others, a +1 may be useless. To others, it can be a life saver. Some might seem that the -75 health isn't worth it, however, to others it can mean a big difference in dealing damage.
Take an IW (Illusionary Weapon) Mesmer. Most that I know, including myself, use a Superior Illusion rune to add to the damage of IW. Bam. 42 constant damage.
And you have now those funny 55 monks, ele's. :p Need those runes and neg. hp offhand items.
Have fun experimenting.

The only i use are absorption and vigor on my warrior and for trapping, my ranger has an extra druids halbrek hit with a run of superior wilderness survival for maxing WS at 16 when I trap in UW. I hit my air spiker with both superiors in Air and Fire (thus leaving him at a pitiful 371 HP) which was probably a mistake, just gotta keep more out of the way.

To be honest, I never really understood why any warrior would like to use ANYTHING that cuts HP. It's so against the very nature of the Warrior.

ermmm, i tend to disagree, based on circumstances, Dealing damage quickly, and having attribute points to allocate in multiple areas can dramatically offset a healthier but yet less usefull warrior. Taking extra time blocking/eliminating foes allows more time for healers to burn energy, and casters to get hit. Block, kill, move on and protect...
I do like to know when monking if someone has excessive runes

Arguably, casters will ALWAYS do more damage than the warriors. That's why I tend to consider the warrior to be more of a tank, or in some cases DDT, but skimpier on the damage. I can understand the use of ONE superior rune. 2 runes is like ... so ... useless.
Then again, I always thought Knight's with Major Absorption to be just like a superior absorbtion. I simply do not agree with wasting money for a superior rune. But then, I did find my major absorbtion rune while farming ettins. :)

To tell you the truth, I thought the same thing. I'm an elementalist, so obviously I stay back and cast spells from afar. However I found that a lot of times, mosters would run by all the warriors and come straight to me, haha. Now, I find that -75 hp is too much for a spell caster.

For my ele I use 1 superior vigor on my aromr (chest) and then i have an eye (which is the helm) of each element which has the coresponding superior rune in it, makes switching elements very quick and easy. But for my tank i only use minor runes cause i need the hp when tanking. I make my tank self dependant usually not requiring a monks aid when tanking it takes the stress of the monk. A little off topic there lol. So yah it all depends on the build.
Edit: Oh yah i use a sup. energy storage on my ele's gloves which i have 2 pairs so i can switch if i need the energy.

they will all attack you if u cast a spell on them b4 the tank deals damage 2 them. They will switch 2 u very easily if u do that. So it's usually best to let them swarm the tank first then start casting from the back.

i agree, more than one is pretty foolish, IMHO, and i have found the sup vigor/absorb before, and none of my characters use them, i have sold them all.

When I play my ellie, or necro, or monk, i dont have any sup runes, just a major in the field I am currently skilled up for, i agree, -75 seems to much to loose with even less armor protection than a tank :S

well i'm a healing monk and upon debating back and forth, i decided to not use any major or superior runes since I've found that that extra +2 on healing or divine favor doesn't do much at all and since i get attacked very often, I like to have more enough health. So in the end I decided to go minor on all four of these monks and rely on my scalp design and weapons to boost attributes if need be.
Also I do recommend superior vigor if you're a good farmer... i'm not and i still got one yesterday, which made me quite broke since i had just gotten new armor... but it's worth it

The HP difference between Major and Superior Vigor is about 31 I believe.
But the price difference is HUGE.
And I am sincerely clueless as to the amount of damage the absorption runes soak up. :)

ermmm, no, the HP difference is not that dramatic,
Minor Vigor = +30 Health
Major Vigor = +40 Health
Superior Vigor = +50 Health

Actually Major Vigor runes are +41 hp, god knows why they decided to make it 41 instead of a nice even, round number like 40. Supposedly Superior Vigors also add +1 regen when you naturally regen after combat.

i have heard that, but have yet to verify
i also noticed when changing armor from major to an old armor with superior, i only had a 9hp difference, so i dont know how the math is done :P

On my PvE monk I have 3 superior runes - Protection, Divine Favour, Healing. I also carry protective spirit with me all the time, as protection from big attacks. I stay alive by having a self healing/self defense spell and by waiting at the back of the group for someone else to take the aggro (In theory). On a warrior, in PvE I would not use superior runes as I like to be in the line of fire and take some damage put in PvP I have no irk in adding runes to the class which is usually targetted last. It becomes less of a problem.
Edgwalkers is coming.

this is my view on superior rune usage in PvE only.
the only char i have that DOESNT use a sup attribute rune is my warr. Both my necro and ranger always use atleast 1, if not 2. I use mainly an SS build of some form or another on my Necro, so he has curse +1 scar with a sup. curses rune, and he almost always has a sup. soul reaping droks chest piece. If the +3 soul reaping isnt necessarily needed, i use my 15k bonelace with a major vig on it. On 2-man UW runs, i always use both curse and reap superiors, becuase the added attributes outway the loss in hp. If the monk dies, half the time i die right after him, no matter what health i have.
As for my ranger. I have 2 different masks, one for WS and one more Marksmanship. when trapping i use the WS mask, when interrupting/spiking i use the marksmanship. I also have an extra set of druids gloves that has a superior expertise depending on the build i have. And with evade skills like whirling anf lightning, getting rushed shouldnt be too much you cant handle, just evade and run around.
Neither of these characters are ever in the front lines fighting it out (not counting trapping), so HP isnt an issue. Making my dmg dealing more efficient far outways the lack of HP.
Thats what i think of superior runes. To me, they make more sense on non-melee chars.

Superior runes a very important - for certain things - i mean, how would a monk farm, and how would so many other builds work?

I find that a Death Superior Rune for my necro is very important not only for soloing but for PvE as well. Level 18 minions are easy to keep alive and provide a powerful attack. I'm a great addition to any farming team as I can battery/Echo Spiteful Spirit at 29 per attack/and Level 18 Minions. Once I get a couple of dead fleshy bodies...our farming group is pretty invincible.
