I had intended to buy this head set for BF 2, but read
in an evaluation of it ... the michrophone does not
work ... it does suppose to have great sound .... opinions?

if you want the best headset money can buy, then be prepares to pay about 200 dollars for one.
they make headsets with pull-out microphones, and each earpiece has FOUR SPEAKERS IN IT. that's right, 8.0 surround sound headphones. if you get them, you will be accused of wallhacking every day though, because you'll be able to tell exactly where someone is by the sounds they make.

i haven't ever bought a pair of those, so i wouldn't know.
bose might make them, but bose is pricy as all hell, as i'm sure you know.
if aiwa made them i'd say go with aiwa, but i don't think they do. i have a 30 dollar pair of aiwa's that are on par with 100 dollar stuido headphones. i bought a pair of them about 6 years ago, and they broke when my younger brother snapped the inner wiring after about 4 years. i went looking for a new pair and found the exact same model with a different logo and bought them immediately.

After much research, I bought a Medusa 5.1 headset
Ordered it from MedusaUSA, which really in England, and
received them on the following Monday AM. DHL really did
a fantastic job!!
Headsets are absolutely fantastic! I can now hear sounds
I could not before, even though I have 5.1 surround speakers.
For an even bigger kick, use the headsets and the speakers
Makes it sound and feel just like you are there
Now if the company who I ordered my two WD Raptors was
as fast ....
