Why is bunny hopping considered "cheap" or wrong or noobish?
It seems to me like people lack the skill to deal.
It's in the game. Anything your opponent can do to avoid being killed should be encouraged.
This is like saying it is wrong to bluff in poker.
This is like saying it is noobish to throw in a fighting game.
It should be standard to bunny hop, if it is a superior tactic.

yea i hear you man, alot of guys get mad when they die to some1 who is bunny hopping.
if both players are able to do it then its even--
though i do wish they would tone down the bunny hopping with the next patch---by the way the superman dive is getting scratched in the next mod... ):
how can i knife fight?? hhaha

it's not jumping in general that's bad, it's the people who don't use sights and bunnyhop and spray EVERY TIME THEY ENCOUNTER AN ENEMY.
yes, it's in the game, but so's a lot of other dipshit stuff that needs to be removed. EA fucked up hard, and it's up to the players to not play like bitches.
bf2 is the only game i know that allows you to jump faster than you walk, higher than head level, and as much as you want to. other games had bunnyhopping but they all took measures to make the game more like an FPS and less like mario bros.

I spent a little time in the Marines and they never taught us to jump around like a lunatic as a combat tactic.
They did teach us "I'm up, they see me, I'm down", but that involves going from prone to standing and back to prone again. Something that is not as easily replicated in this game. :)

So one of the above arguments seems to imply that it is stupid to do, yet too powerful?
That doesn't even make sense. A "stupid" tactic is easily defeated by a player who knows what is going down. A good tactic is any tactic that increases your chances of surviving the encounter.
It also cannot be considered overpowered, because it is universal (only the player can make the choice not to use the technique and weaken himself).
I'm coming from the perspective of a competitive gamer from what I believe to be (arguably) the most competitive genre of games (1on1 fighting games, think Street Fighter).
There is no "cheap" tactic in these games. "Cheap" is noob talk. The analogy I see here is to people who try to ban throwing from fighting games (if you've played you probably would understand) because it is "cheap". Not so.
Also, other examples of "dipshit" things that need to be removed?

Unlike the Street Fighter people in BF2 for the most part want a realistic gaming experience. The last thing people imagine on some distant battlefield in some massive war is a bunch of people jumping looking like idiots. As some would put it...You are not a bunny and therefore you should not bunnyhop. Sure you want every edge possible when competing but sometimes there is a line.

scoll to the bottom half, the first part is about two new 10 dollar expansions to the game, the second is about the 1.2 patch coming out within a couple weeks.
NO MORE BUNNYHOPPING, FOOLS!
if you want 1v1 action, play q4, ut2k4, or doom 3 (ugh). battlefield is a TEAM GAME. it's all about tactics and teamwork. and your ability to adapt to any situation (i.e. stealing jets and keeping them.) yes, like any FPS it requires all sorts of skill, but jumping around like a tard is not a skill.
oh and guess what, they nerfed the m203/gp30 too! it now has a minimum range before it will explode, just like in real life. they cut down it's damage radius, too, which i don't really agree with, you pretty much have to hit them dead on to kill them anyway... now you're never going to be able to take out more than one guy with it...

I don't see much of a problem with bunny hopping . If people want to look like an idiot right before I shoot them in the face ...... so be it . Muwahahahahahahahahahah .

They should just make fucking games Real life lets you get killed in RL and is able to call them cheat "oh come on man why the fuck did you have to use a nade to kill me"
what ever you can do in the game to survive i say you fucking do it!

meh but in real life do you get spec ops jumping round corners and chucking a lot of c4 at you its just pointless. they obviously do it because they cant shoot for s*** with a normal rifle
