Running on my system

Hi, I was just wondering if EQ2 would run on my system w/o any problems. Here are the specs:

Intel Celeron D 320 processor at 2.4Ghz
1024MB of ram
128MB ATI Radeon Xtasy 9200SE
Windows XP Home Edition
And I have a DVD drive incase I need the DVD edition.

I would really appreciate any responses, thanks.

RE: Running on my system

Hey Slash, welcome to EQ2Gameamp.

I guess the first thing is to show the min specs for the game...

Operating System: Windows 98/2000/ME/XP
Processor: 1 GHz
RAM: 512 MB
Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible; pixel shader and vertex shader compatible hardware with 64 MB of texture memory
Sound Card: DirectSound compatible audio hardware

....and of course the recomended specs..

Operating System: Windows 98/2000/ME/XP
Processor: 2 GHz or greater
RAM: 1 GB
Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible; pixel shader and vertex shader compatible hardware with 128 MB or more of texture memory
Sound Card: DirectSound compatible audio hardware

The nice thing about Everquest II, is there are so many adjustments that you can make to get the most out of your set up.

My wifes PC, 3.2 with 1g and a sub standard Vid card, runs the game on the "High performance" setting and everything still looks very good.

My only concern for you, would be the "Celeron" processor, but I think you should be able to adjust the in-game settings to your approval and run EQII just fine.

RE: Running on my system

Well, the Celeron D has double the cache of the regular Celeron. So I'm hoping it runs fine. Oh, and this is a bit off subject, but is EQ2 cool? I mean, is it worth the monthly charge? I used to play EQOA, and LOVED it, Then I tried Everquest Evolution about a month ago, and hated it.

RE: Running on my system

Well, all I can say is......OMFG, ITS OUTSTANDING! (don't forget ..you asked)

:)

This game is nothing short of beautiful. In my opinion, the best looking game(graphics)to date. I can run this game in "High Quality" setting, with some adjustments. I still find myself saying and some point..."wow, thats just cool"

I was doing some harvesting last night before bed. All I could do was shake my head, as the grass moved as I walked through the Commonlands. The detail is outstanding.

I know it sounds trivial, but for me the eye candy or graphic detail is the juice for me. Every zone takes my breath away.

I have played, over the years, several games. I was running through Norrath in EQLive late '99 and in Beta with EQII. Everquest has been my home for over 5 years.

The game play is very diverse, Solo, duo, Group Raid. You can Roleplay and feel totally part of the world. Even if you are not a roleplayer the ecology of the game will suck you in. You can be walking through town and see NPC's(Non player Characters) talking, in a hot debate or calling to you for some help with a quest. There is even a runnaway piglet that you may find following you around in West Freeport.

The storylines are rich, with every quest its like reading a Fantasy Novel that you have been written into. The action can be tense, the battles are tactical and rewarding.

There is always something to do.

20+ hours a week, my wife and I sit side by side, lost in Norrath.

I have yet to be bored, tired or disapointed.

That's how I was with EQOA. If EQ2 is even HALF as good as you describe it, then I know I'll LOVE it. What server are you on? I'll try and play on yours. =)
