Hi, new to the forums, I got BF2 a couple of days ago.
It runs fine on my PC and everything, but I have certain issues with the gameplay, which could be great if it wasnt for them lol.
1) I can only ever find about 10 servers, what gives, this game is meant to be huge right? And those ones are always full...see point 2.
2) I assume i need to update, not many servers still running the version in the box I spose...I've downloaded the patch (v1.12) 6, 6 fecking times now, and it doesnt work. Even if I can get into the install app (which seldom happens), it cant find the install file. I uninstalled BF2, and moved it to EA's directory of choice...still no luck. Why does it allow me to play, but at some level still think its not installed?
3) LAGGGG, are their ANY decent servers out there? As it is this game is unplayable lol. My ping is fine, around 30-60 usually...why are they allowing ppl with shitty connections to play on 64ppl maps? So, any servers you guys could recommend.
Sorry this probably all seems like whining, but its bloody frustrating, this game could be sooooo sick, but instead its...well its poor. But ppl have been raving about it too me so I assume this isnt the overall experience?
Any suggestions ppl?

it doesn't lag because of the servers, it lags because you don't have enough ram to cache the map in less than two minutes.
i had 2x512 ddr2 and i had to fly around the whole map before it would stop lagging. i upgraded to 4x512 ddr2 and now i get in the map before anyone else, have my choice of vehicles at round start, and the game never lags unless i join a european server.
simply put, bf2 eats more ram than a sheepherder in winter.
oh, and i'm totally with you on the gameplay issues. but there is hope! check out my last post on the "bunnyhopping" thread. new patch!
