I just started playing a Ninja/Trick Arrow MM. I'm really enjoying it, but I'm not too sure about the trick arrow secondary. I have been thinking about re-rolling a Ninja/Poison. What does everybody think about Trick Arrow vs. Poison for a secondary? What should I go with? Keep in mind that I solo almost exclusively.

I run a Bot/Poison MM and have found poison very very useful with it's debuffs and aids, both in PvE and PvP. Even though I like both Trick Arrow and Poison, both having their own pros and cons. I decided to go with poison first off and have solo'd a lot of levels using the debuffs on bosses, don't have too much experience with soloing with trick arrow but from what I know about it, it uses more AoE attacks and you get a hold early off in the toons career. I can't give you a definate answer but I think soloing with either, you really can't go wrong depending on your playstyle and personal preferance.

i know its late to affect your decision, but the holds can be handy. I'm not sure if i like not having a heal though. But damage mitigation is almost as good as a heal. I hit 10 and had to skip Ice Arrow to get my initial travel power, but have ideas for respec already. Many folks suggest not taking many of the personal attacks in favor of the controls, but I found it takes much longer to plow through wihtout your own shots to add. Ice Block will help control, and the web shot is handy for holding those melees away from squishy mercs. also good for keeping one guy around the corner and pulling others around so he cant hit ya... immob + line of sight control = Hold... just as good as a solid hold.

I have a merc/trick arrow MM and a ninja/poison MM. And they both have their benefits. One of the coolest and most effective powers in the game is the glue arrow. You will be able to let your guys wipe out huge groups with just one shot. The ice arrow is darn handy too. On the other hand, the healing power of poison is wondeful. So as usual all powers are great, and it is just up to your playing style. But if I have to make some kind of "which is better" decision, I think poison is great for the melee MM's (ninjas and zombies) and trick arrow for the the ranged guys (merc and robots).

very true, glue is handy, but slot that baby up for rechage time... whoo. every third fight i have it. oh and the range is a tad short. but it is fun for ranged attackers
