See i don't understand this with weapons like fellblades and such they are the exact same as other weapons just fancier looking so they add like 40-50k to the pricetag its silly.

Its not worth much at all. The most Ive ever seen a plain max serpent sell for was 11K and I think that is a rip. I have sold plain max ones for 4K though more than once. So I would say 4K but if this axe had a damage mod in it than it would be worth alot more. I had a max dwarven axe with a damage +13% while enchancted mod and sold that for 25 Ectos. Its a shame what a difference those mods make.
Im telling you you can try to sell one for 11K but good luck, you will just end up wasting a lot of time. One thing that will increase the value (in my experience) is use it as leverage in trades. If you are buying something offer up the serpent axe instead of cash and you will usually get more value out of it that way.

well i think ur all wrong :P
i had a purple max req 8 one once and sold it for 100k +2 ecto, whoever sold one for 4k each is losing out on a lot of gold if they are max low req, that particular 1 would prbs be worth 50-60k :) to the right buyer, even more :D

Did your purple max Serpent have a damage mod in it? Also how long ago was this sale?
Im just trying to save the guy time, because I saw a VERY credible person on this forum (and another forum) sell his max white serpent for 11K. Which I personally think is too much without a damage mod.
If I lost out on some money well I feel Silly, but maybe I'll dig up some more and auction them and put this to rest.
EDIT: If you put this item up for auction, I would be interested in watching it, so please let me know. This way if I am the one getting ripped, I will know for future reference. Thanks

OK so it looks like I am mistaken.
I did some forum reading and it looks as though low req max damage serpents sell for around 50K (thats what the sellers claim to have sold for on their auctions) And Serpents with damage mods go for 70K and up. So It looks like my poor noob self gave away 3 max serpent axes, the best one being a blue low req. one, the other 2 had high req. so maybe I didnt lose TOO much on those. I dont know I get them somewhat frequently so I am surprised by all this.
Maybe in my luck of getting them I thought they were more common than they are.
So long story short, you can try to sell it for 50K (I personally still dont think that will be easy, but it appears there are some buyers out there that REALLY want one)
Good luck selling and keep me posted, I am very curious now.

We've all sold drops at under-value prices, if I didn't know better... I would have just Merchanted it.
They're rare enough as it is, and to find a max damage low requirement Serpent is something many players will never see...
You're guaranteed to get over 100k, the amount of Ectos you get, will depend on how rich the buyer is, and how badly he wants it...
I'd advertise it as a future trade, and get a few offers before making your decision...
On the other hand, if I had it, I'd keep it - people obviously want them, and you'll be the envy - of me anyway!

Lol i can't remember how many times i have sold tribal serpent and dwarven axes to merchants and now when i think of it it makes me mad, but i did find a tribal axe the other day not max dmg but its cool to have just so u can spam i'm wielding a sundering tribal axe of fortitude (lol with 5% Sundering and +20 health)

Oh and a good tip on recognising the rarer weapons of the game, have a look at Weapon rewards from quests, in pre and post...
There are Serpent Axe lookalikes, Summit Shields (Not the Warlord Ones), Crystalline Swords and Dwarven Axes, and then some of the more common drops like Raven Saffs and Warlord Shields... Check them before you instantly bin them...

Nop, worthless. Charr and Shiverpeak goathorse ppl seam to drop very high ammount of crappy tribal and sickle axes for me ...

rare or not, i wouldnt pay more than the 100-odd gold the merchant gives for it. Theres no inherent dmg mod (ie. dmg +15% while...). waste of money without inherent mod, imo, the fact its a crappy weapon far outweighs its rareness. just another fad weapon making its rounds.
if you can make an assload of gold on it though, more power to you. I cant see anyone that actually earned all their gold trading for it though, prolly just 'net gold-buyers.

For someone who can't understand paying for the appearance of an item, if it doesn't do anything better than any other regular item... You certainly have a lot of appearance conscious Armor... Is that a slight contradicion?
And on the money earning front, with a head for figures you can easily create a steady income just from buyin and selling... Buying Wood in bulk for 10gp each for example, then using 5 and 20gp to create Parchment. Total cost to you 70gp per, you sell each for 100gp with a profit of 30gp... It's boring, but over time you can make a substantial amount of money, without having to buy it online etc.
I've had 5 full sets of 15k armor, 10+ sets of Droknars, a stock pile of Very Good Weapons (including a Shield Collection), and currently 140k... If I'd never spent money on things simply for appearance, I'd have run out of Gold Storage (and I'd have a lot more ectos) - These Rare weapons are just Gold sinks. And I for one love 'em!

Now, for once I am not certain.... Anyway, I havent been playing in a few months so but i know having one right now in my storage that they havnt dropped in quite along time. Now unless they re-introduced them to the spawn drops. (Which iI wouldnt doubt at all being that Anet are morons)
It would be worth 50-100k I have one in my storage that is blue (common) and its 1 point under max damage. I was offered 60k for it at one point. Now as I said before they do not drop anymore. Tehrefor making the value go up a bit. As they are rare and the style is pretty kool on them. However, I could be wrong because I havnt played in 3 months or more.

It's good to have you back in the forums, Rox, though a great deal has changed since you last played. New items, new strategies, changes to old strategies, and just in general lots of fun stuff to mess around with. However, I have seen a Serpent Axe drop in the last month or so (white, high req., a couple points off max, and not for me :( ), so if Anet had discountinued them, they reinstated them now.
As far as things go, the Serpent Axe is effectively the Crystalline Sword of axes (similar to how the Chaos Axes and Fellblades relate). A Serpent Axe will go for 5-10 times as much as another axe with the same stats. That being said, I'd say that your axe here, born from ash, is probably worth 60-100k; max, but no inherent bonuses, middle-or-the-road req., and the mods are something that most people would replace. Still, it is a max Serpent Axe and is worth some cash to someone who wants a vanity item like this.

Wow. Just wow. You seem like a very conceded person. Flaunting the "riches" riches you have (I highly doubt it) is just a dumb thing to do and pointless, and doesn't make you any more likable. What are you really trying to do? State that you have more money than God? Its people doing that, that really burns me up.

I think you missed the point of what i was saying. If i had a max dmg axe, +15^50, etc. I wouldnt care in the least about the most rare of axe skins if it didnt atleast equal the stats that i was currently using. With that said, i've salvaged many fellblades, chaos, eternals, storm bows, rare horn skins, etc since they didnt have inherent mods, and were a step down and essentially worthless in combat compared to my existing equipment.
Now, back to the issue of my armor; my 15k armor is indeed a vanity issue since its no "better" than droks. But, its not "worse" either. Since 15k does have the same stats of droks, and isnt a step down, i choose to purchase it for the change in appearance.

I understand what you mean by using the better stats weapons, I do the same... my weapon of choice for gaming is a rather dull looking Great Axe, but I would love to own a serpent, just for the appearance... Iwouldn't actually use it...

I agree, I am a little conceited (in game)... my post basically states, I would pay for something, and have done in the past, purely for vanity sake... but I'm not a liar!
I wouldn't usually do something like brag on a forum, especially when the amount of stuff I have is no where near as much as some others.... but, people that insinuate I am not being truthful, really burn me up. Proof if required!
