| I found the reason behind the smack/slap emote |

(Forgive the spelling and gramatical errors please)
Alright im sorry but i have to rant about this. Sunday i was playing my bot/dark MM trying to get my protector bots before the day was over so i throw up the 'looking for mission team flag' after about five minutes of waiting i get a blind invite and i figure since this was port oaks and so few people have the common decency to send a tell before an invite in PO, i accept it. So its me and this stalker (i forget his name) with the 'defeat the sea witch' mission. Now i heard from one of my friends that this was a farly hard mission (before this i had never done it before) so i said "You know, i heard this is a hard mish. It would be best if we get more people" about a minute later he says that an MM and a stalker would be fine so i say whatever and head into the mission. When we get there and clear out the top area around the ship then he says i'll look for the "sea witch" now i was cautious and said "We should stay together" he proceeds to yell "I dont need your help to take her! go look somewhere else!" Ok so here were my options A) ignore him and continue looking or B) follow him wait till he finds her then fire off a shot and leave to let him die. In the end i went with A but now i think B would have been sooo much more satisfying anyway i took flight and looked around the top area again while he checked the bottom of the ship when all of a sudden i see his health drop from 100% down to 0 and what does he say "WHERE THE *censored* WERE YOU!" I automaticly assumed that this idiot must have found the sea witch and tried to kill her all by his one-sies and to no supprise i was right i dismiss my bots (so i wont get unwanted attention and look for him and guess where i find him...yep kissing the sea witch's feet so i reply "You told me to look somewhere else" there was a pause on his end followed by "shut up, you have a rez power right? Revive me now!" Now normaly i am ALWAYS happy to TP an ally out of danger and revive him but this moron wasnt worth the trouble I replied "nah you arent worth the risk of using Howling Twilight on" after i said that i left. While i was at the loading screen i thought to myself "how does an idiot like that find his way out of the covers in the morning" This brings me to the title of this post. I think we were given the smack emote for idiots like these... tough its a shame it does no damage
Discuss
-Idiot experiences
-uses for the slap/smack icon
-Why is it so hard to find compatant players at low levels
-Why do people not understand how Twilight grasp works

I Hate when people are Rude and Bossey like that. I have a level 50 Empathy Defender on COH and you wouldnt believe how many people are like that about healing. It's people like that who suck the fun out of the game. Sorry for your rough experience.
Thanks to Death Fetish for this cool "siggy"

I feel your pain on this one dude. I've been on countless missions where the leader or someone on the team is overly rude and bossy about being the hero. These are the kind of people who are quick to take the credit for something going right, but as soon as something goes wrong, they find someone else to blame.
Now here's where I'm split: what do we do when we encounter such a person? Some may say to do what you did; ignore it until it becomes too much then leave. Others would say to try to deal with the person until the mission is over. Yet another solution would be voice your feelings on the matter. Personally, I like to use a combination of the previous ideas. First, I tend to ignore it. If it becomes a problem, I'll tell the team Leader how I'm feeling. If I'm the Leader, I'll PM him (unless its just the two of us) and tell him to calm down or else he's gone. If finally nothing works, then I'll suck it up until the end of the mission and then quit the team (unless the troublemaker quits first, then I'll stay on). I'm not a fan of abandoning my teams on missions, but sometimes you've gotta do what you've gotta do.
All in all, its his loss since he's never going to have a solid team because of his lack for teamwork. That's going to hurt enough to where you may never see him again.
Just keep in mind that this is a game and its supposed to be fun. Once you stop having fun, there's no point in it anymore. Even though that guy is a human being and everyone has bad days, there's no call for that kind of stuff in a game. Even games have ethics and courtesy.
Take it easy, and remember to HAVE FUN! :P

??? You mean villians are supposed to be nice?
Well, I would say that situation was handled appropriately. Myself personally, If there is someone that bossy and demanding from the start, and if they are by chance the team leader, I'll just leave from the beginning. The reason, from my experience, is that their attitude does not get better. They are usually the ones that have very strong opinions on how everyone should play their toons (as if they have lvl 40's of each exact build that's on the team). They are usually the first to eat dirt (because they know it all, or have diluted visions of granduer). I would rather choose to find another team that fits my play style. Now, I can deal with a little bossyness, if it's productive and actually makes the team function better. However, this usually comes after a team has been together for about.....4-5 missions and everyone knows what everyone else can do.
But, my feeling is, if you eat dirt...it is your fault and your fault only! Stalkers = light blapper and should not be played like a scrapper.

Agreed, I see this many many times. False delusion in the stalker defenses heh. Like most have said, you'll meet a bunch of people that think they know better than the developers themselves, this goes for any game really. Best thing to do is not even say anything (get worked up about it) because you should know they'll be on the losing end.
Onto the stalker topic, I think I've encountered only two people that actually used the "Hit'n Run" tactic with other strategy to help the team out with bosses/LT's, the rest seem to think they are invincible, it's unfortunate. But hopefully most will learn from their mistakes ^_^

I am a hit and run tactics type of guy. Usually I will run to the end and find the boss, unless team says they want to kill all.

I have been playing COH since issue 1.
I have encountered many rude people.
I ussally just tell them right away over team chat, like this.
Hey you are being rude and trying to get us all killed.
If they ignore my complaint I leave the team, unless we are in the middle of fighting.
Who has time to deal with jerks.
Not me!

with the scrapper and stalker issue i think some of the best scrappers suck as stalkers and that you are better off having not played a scrapper when you start a stalker

When I played CoV (was playing since late beta) I settled on Mastermind Bots/Dark so I know the build well, infact I have faced the Sea Witch with said AT.
As Jeff Foxworthy says "there is no cure for stupid."
You did the right thing, I will bet if you had revived him he would have done the same thing again, either that or the Sea Witch whom I have fought several times on teams (I tried once solo lol it wasn't pretty :P ) would have gotten you as well.
Place them on ignore so you don't have to deal with them in the future /ignore is the command.
May you and your Bots go far!

What a prat is all i can say, players like that UGH!!! Thankfully ive only ever encountered one person like that ( a cor) who thought he could hold off 3K Kelvin himself, so i happily said sure prove youir strenght and kicked back to watch him die, which he did so rather quick. Then i guess i was foolish in tring to take 3K myself, with only half of his life (we were duoing as he refused to invite more) I almost beat him but being an EB and all he got me, then i had the little ****** taking the piss out of me for ages, so i added him to the good ol global ignor!

I wouldn't say that. My first toon was a Scrapper and I rocked! MA/Regen FTW!!!! and my first villain was a Stalker...Claws/Ninjitsu and I still ROCK!!!!
The play styles are similiar, but you just have to realize that you don't have the hitpoints of a Scrapper. Once you come to grips with that, and get a little sneaky, you're fine. I never had an issue with the transition personally.
