Personally i think that W/MO is the best but i want to know you opinion...

W/MO is just a bit too standard. It's fun to try all sorts of different combinations in PvP and PvE. =)

IWAY is a popular W/R build but there are alot of counters to it.

I've recently realized how fun it was to use my rangers disrupt skills and still have to decide on a second class.

I think there is alot of potential for a Mes/Nec and for some reason Mesmers are often overlooked. I think alot of people are used to lots of W/Mo being around and set their skills to deal with this. I guess it depends if your planning on doing PvE or PvP more.

Since I changed my Monk's secondary class to Mesmer, I've found that to be an essential part in any ultimately powerful character. Changing my Warrior's secondary class to Mesmer only cemented that opinion, as he became much more versatile and powerful than he had been as a Wa/N or Wa/Mo. And now, after Ascending my Me/Mo character, I've decided that Mesmer is definately the game's most powerful class. Sure, the other classes are balanced, but Mesmers are simply uncounterable. Nothing can beat them, so they are the best class.

So, I'd say that the best combination would be a Mesmer with all 5 secondary professions unlocked. That way, they could, at a minutes' notice, take on literally any enemy in the game, human or computer, with no problems. Purely physical attackers get set up against a Me/Mo with Empathy, Spirit of Failure, and Retribution or a Me/Ne with Empathy, Spirit of Failure, Price of Failure, and Retribution. Pure spellcasters have to deal with someone with Migraine, Arcane Conundrum, Mantra of Persistence, and a set of interrupts. And someone in the middle has to find some way to take down an Illusionary Weapon Me/W who uses Hex Breaker and various other hex removal spells. Sure, it's conditional what secondary the Mes has to use, but later in the game, that doesn't even matter.

I totally agree with you necrorebel on mesmer being one of the stronger classes. Before I finally decided on necro being my mesmers secondary class I used gorels cane and vokurs chakrum which alot of people think are useless and are very cheap to pick up also. nothing wrong with having 20% chance of faster cast and 20% chance of faster recharge with all of your skills( I was using only mes skills.)

my opinion; Ranger/Ele is the one i like the most
interrupting all that's alive and not allied
but I'm very eager to test out the new combination of
Ranger/Ritualist which will be worlds most powerfull trapping combination i guess
Can't wait to actually test it out

I also agree with Necro that mesmers are one of the best classes.. however IMO, I think mesmer is best secondary class. Mesmers just have too little armour, and not many people give recognition to mesmer primaries.

I think N/Me is a good combo. You can be a good asset in PvE and PvP. I also like the R/Me combo as well.

I'm keeping my opinion on the fact that threre's no BEST profession, even on MY opinion. You can counter everything(yes even mesmers). No matter how hard you try, there will be always someone who's a bit better then you are. So shortly: It's all about what YOU think is the BEST class combo.

to be honest i have no idea, ive been a warrior/ranger and that didnt work to well because i didnt use my ranger part AT ALL.

w/mo is supposed to be good, and it probably is, you ca heal yourself when nearly dead so thats a big advantage, elementalist/monk is quite good, as elemntalists can destroy certain monsters very easily, say if you were attacking a fire monster because all your stats were on ice magic, and there was an ice monster attacking you, you could heal yourself before it kills you so your teammates can come and save you.

really though i think w/mo.....so yeah, but you should chose the profession you think is best. ppl do have different opinions :P

sorry, there is no such thing. although im using a n/me n/mo and a r/mo because r/mo can run and farm and n/me is pretty much all around good because they are very nasty in hoh with arcane echo and spiteful spirit and are helpful with missions. i like n/mo for 55 hp spiteful build :P

for me,
PVE=W/ELEM cause u can use armor of earth (it provides you great defence)and use tactics and when ur low on health, use gladiators defence and/or shield stance(if u have a shield) when u did that use healing signet, i faced 4 echanted (sorry i forgot how to spell it ^.^) all by my self and 4 or 5 hydras and i survived! with out dieing, so if ur a warrior and loves pve then use w/elem...the only weakness i have is ignore armor spells

PVP=W/MO, practilly almost invincable, i have superior absorbtion and vigor so he can last a very long time and i use i will avenge u,zeulious sword, mending, and healing hands, that way i can recover my energy faster, and if it took them a long time to get my healh low, O WELL I GUSSE THEY HAVE TO START ALLL OVER AGAIN ^.^

I like to mix Monk and Ranger... with all the others - not a big PvPer, but for PvE they are really good... I like pets and survival skills, and I don't just assume the Monk is my lifeline, I like to be self-sufficient.

Not knocking the other professions tho... it's all good!

I am all about Degen. A necro and a mesmer, now that is a degen. classic. or a bleed or a wound or set on fire, or or any other degen that ANY profession can do. The thing is with a mesmer and a necro i find that there is an awesome basis for degen. moves. check out and scroll through all the skills that are listed on this site for every profession. Guild Wars is like a game of chess. Whatever your move there will be benefits and consequences, but the degeneration nation is the "it" thing. try it out and watch their life get drained away in the most PG of fashion.

Over the weekend my favorite combo was A/Me. However, in the game so far my favorite character is my Ranger because I can do pretty I think rangers can do about anything. I switch off between a Monk or a Mesmer secondary depending on what I am doing.

R/Me turbo trapper would i call this with eho(elite) you can cast many traps = much dammage:-D
