Hey man!
I would like a more specific description about the enchanting but probably you can't enchant the items unless it is labeled with "enchantable".
e.g. Legendary enchantable Gladius. And the color of the label for enchantable items is grey...

For me, enchantable items haven't been that impressive. I did a few just to play around with it, but with such a small window to put reagents in, it soon became, "What's the point?" Nothing I could enchant would be as impressive as the unique, set, or rare magic items.

I believe it's logic that the uniques and rares are more desired. They have the best enhancements. But if you can't find the correct uniques or rares then go enchant legendary or exceptional enchantable loot. And if you are even to lasy to do that then enchant several legendary or exceptional rings amulets or spell books whit rainbow trinkets and prismatic baubles to get more of those rares and uniques. This has been said in many other topics aswell. Perhaps you should read those aswell.

I prefer to enchant a super strength sword, or super intelligent staff (depending on the character using it) for my group. Uniques and sets are great, but an enchanted amulet with +18 to intelligence is pretty hard to beat for a CM.

I did enchant a few items but found to be a waste unless used on great or legendary items, Otherwise just feed it to a pet if you have one

I find that the quality of the enchantables grows with your characters.
Early on, when you're around about the point where you'd be celebrating completion of the Nature's Vigilance set, Good enchantables will make the grade, as they can fill in the gaps where you haven't picked anything else up yet (especially empty ring/amulet slots, etc), but when you're starting to get into the later chapters of Act I, there is such a variety of rare and unique items, that you'll have probably reached a point where you're only going to be happy with Great enchantables.
If you were to find a Legendary item in the first chapter of Act I, none of your characters would be of a high enough level to be able to use it, even if you could find enough cash to cover the cost of enchantment.
