Coloured Names

Is there a way to edit the colours for your name in utcomp without having to open the actual game? Like is there are file where we can enter the colour values?

And I have a suggestion, next to the coloured names slider bars in the in-game utcomp options there should be a text box which you actually define what colour code you want instead of having to use the slider bar.

Also another thing, when I press F5 in-game the utcomp options come up, but the 'colours' menu item is already selected but it is not actually on that page with those options. Is this a bug?

Re: Coloured Names

in your System folder you'll have a text file named "UTComp" or something similar...

you can change everything in there...

Re: Coloured Names

I know how to do it now. The post above ^ is incorect.

For those who are in the same situation as I was, you can edit the colours of your name by going into your /UT2004/System directory and opening up a file called user.ini. In that file, search for the text: [utcompv13.BS_xPlayer] . Under there you now just have to edit the values of B, G & R.

Re: Coloured Names

hrm why do i have this in part of a text file in my system then i wonder...

[UTCompv11.BS_xPlayer]
BlueColors[0]=(B=128,G=0,R=0,A=255)
BlueColors[1]=(B=0,G=128,R=0,A=255)
BlueColors[2]=(B=0,G=0,R=0,A=0)
BlueColors[3]=(B=0,G=0,R=0,A=0)
RedColors[0]=(B=0,G=0,R=128,A=255)
RedColors[1]=(B=0,G=128,R=0,A=255)
RedColors[2]=(B=0,G=0,R=0,A=0)
RedColors[3]=(B=0,G=0,R=0,A=0)

maybe an older version of utcomp put it there?

Re: Coloured Names

Yeah, thats very old. (1.1)

It can be safely deleted, unless you frequently play on 1.1 servers :)

Re: Coloured Names

Yup, every letter's RGB (red green blue) values, up to 20 letters. (Names in UT2004 are cut off after 20 characters)
