I looked on the offical forums and it looks as if they dont even know when it will be released they say June - October of the year.
edit:
I went to a local gaming store today and found out the the street release for the game is May 2006 but you can reserve it NOW!!!!!!

Well EB and Gamestop do have it listed for July. But Brad, told the forum members, that no actual date has been set. That Beta was taking way longer then expected, and they wanted to make sure the game was done right before release. So more likely fall to late winter timeframe, if not longer.

1st off Welcome to the site!
And I would rather they get all the testing they need done before they launch, rather than have to play a buggy game. So it just means we get to drool a bit longer, and keep our fingers crossed for a beta invite.

Well that came as quite a shock. After Brad left SoE for creative differences over Everquest as main developer, he formed up Sigil. And while keeping it professional, he made a few commets about his dislike for SoE. And now Vanguard will be backed from SOE. Caught me off guard, to say the least.
But doesnt change my deceision to play the game as long as the game stays geared to the target audience of the hardcore player.

That is a surprise. Sony must have been paying something very nice to manage to buy Sigil away from Microsoft. I have no experience with Sony nor Microsift as far as MMO's are concerned so I doesn't really matter to me. But the fact that two giants bothered to hussle over this game means it must be good. Thanks that info!
And a even bigger thanks for your great info gathering post(s). I pinned it so everybody can enjoy it. I didn't want to clutter it with my thanks there :)

Thanks for pinning that post. Spent alot of time moving that over and coloring it for important information. Much appreciated for pinning it.
I think after reading up about the backing issue, it came down to principal by Sigil. Microsoft, from what i can gather from reading between the lines, seemed to be pushing for it to also be on x-box 360. Which would limit the game and mechanics some. So Sigil, went to SoE and worked out something to be able to buy Microsoft out. But, Brad made a post, stating that in the contract, SoE would not be able to touch game development or any aspect of gameplay. Just the Tech support. But SoE, gets to add it to Station Exchange, which helps them out. With Station Exchange, you pay around 30.00 US dollars per month. But that gives you a slew of MMOs to play. EQ, EQ2, SWG, Planetside, EQoA, Vanguard, and a few others. So its alot of bang for your buck. Which is nice to have, say, if you want to take a break from being burnt out in one MMO, to sit back and have fun in another. Without worrying about canceling and then reapplying when your ready to go back. So, it was a good thing for both companies to do. There is some backfire from former SoE game players. Alot of them left games like EQ2, and SWG over gameplay changes. ANd some are quite upset VAnguard went into this alliance. But, at the end of the day, I think Vanguard is still better this way.

So.. please... hang in there. It's coming, but as we've said before, the game will release when it's ready. And while we may have backed away from the '2006' statement, Winter is still accurate. It may yet be 2006, but we haven't confirmed anything yet other than Winter.

same here been bouncing back and forth from EQ2 and CoV lol i need a new game to get back to having only one mmorpg monthly payment hehe
Just thought of something, next year at this time i prolly will be playing Vanguard and Warhammer and still paying for two games a month ...oh well

Hi brodar,
Great to see you here too! This is indeed the game to be looking out for. They said winter 2007. So that means anywhere from January till late March. Which is still half a year before Warhammer, which is scheduled for Fall 2007. So no double bookings.
However, before winter is upon us, I have another addiction lined up. I will be playing The Chronicles of Spellborn. That game is scheduled for October 2006. You should really have a look at that. It looks very tempting to say the least.
