Question about spines

HOW DO YOU START IT? heh i mean do i get swipe or lunge first? do i even tough spine burst? i really trying to see how someone would start this set? is it fairly weak? damn i just dunno

seems that EM/ is the only good one out for stalkers

i havet really tryed spines out for stalkers, but i found out that claws/ninjitsu really work well and the ninja blade/ninjitsu is good too.

I played spines in CoH, and loved them. Get the quicker attack to start with, then get Spine Burst next. In groups, that's a nasty attack when it hits. Course....this is CoV...so maybe tactic's are different because of the Stalker specialty. Anyone know if Spine burst does critical when you are hidden?

When using spine burst stealthed i think only one or two of the enemys will get hit with a critical. As for taking a starting attack, I took lunge first because when stealthed it has very good starting damage (for that level) and its even more when stealthed. Barb or whatever the first one is called has very low damage like 5 or 8 a hit and only one of those is a crit.

lvl 22 spines stalker here.

Spine Burst: Although when attacking the spines only have a 50% chance to Critical Strike, it is an essential attack. Takes many enemies down at once. If you played a spines in CoH then you know most of the battle. Get Assassin Strike and a Build Up power and you become a one shot god. great set over all due to its speed and killing masses ability.

Created a Spines/EA Stalker, he misses too much! i died 5 times in the thirs mish for the burke guy... i chose the first 2 pwoers... BIG MISTAKE? i dunno was thinking of now getting spines/nin for its utilities... and i heard its great for PvP does this happen alot with the Low acc for spines, it is really depressing i missed 7 times in a row any help suggestions, ANYTHING! hes only lvl 3 so i dont care for starting over, o well ill wait for the responses

The only thing to do, i think, is just put acc enhancemnets for accracey probs. But im not to sure tho.

right right i did that my dude, but its... something else ima make a spines ninja i guess... it is just annoying when i use the claws or ninja blade is alright but damn spines... not cool but meh i guess ill see whats up... more help with spines advice would help out

Hate to tell ya, but Scrappers/Stalkers, for some strange reason (hears Devs snickering in the background) they all have a low Acc rate, no way around that. The only thing to do is add some Acc enhancements and pop some yellow skittles (more than one if you want to hit and a high rate).

Oh, and the Ninjitsu secondary totally ROCKS!!!!! I use it and it is the best secondary set for Stalkers, IMO that is :)

just remembered, not that it deals with the acc prob, but i was in a team with a spines stalker and he was kicken some major butt. so it kind of makes me speculate that they cant be all that bad.

You'll get other opinions but, you need the Fitness power pool with pretty much any character you get if you want to run toggles and attack at the same time. I always take swift before 12, then health at 14, then staminia at 20. Then you can run into battle easier, and not worry about running out of endurance in a hurry. Unless you crack off Hasten, have a Kinetics person give you SB, and you go thru all your attacks as fast as possible...then you might run out of endurance when it's 3 slotted SO's.

Anyways I wanted to say I made an En/Regen stalker just cause I was bored w/ the lvl 35 Nin^2 stalker...it's more like a scrapper then anything. The regeneration powers that you get make you almost not squishy...I can run into solid oranges and just scrap it out instead of doing the hit and run deal. I can imagine if I get IH slotted w/ 3 recharge times and a heal or 2 .. Then you could honestly pull a scrapper impression...but I digress...=P

Any build you make, you should make it your own. Play with it till it works for what you want it to do. In all honesty, isn't this game about making the villain you want, not the villain that's gonna beat the next guys a$$?

I jsut remade my spine stalker (wanted dark armor). I find it cooler to look at then other stalker powers, and spine burst can be quite handy at times. But i think spines are more crowd based then single person based (such as the ninja blade) and some of the attacks can be weaker. But i like my spines i will admit, and i have no doubt that my spine dude will reach 50 first (even though i just remade him and lost all those levels). Personally i say give it a go!

Go for spines! Personally i find it the most useful of the bunch and the added toxin can be real useful at times. Its not the strongest, quickers or least end hog of the lot but its the best for attacking mulitple foes!

Yes, i must admit i did play as spines on CoH but i thought it was too weak so i went for a more powerful ability, although they do have DoT attacks which r very useful but i advise going with something better e.g ninja blade/ninjitsu

Spines may not be the most powerful of the bunch, but they are worth thier while, especially when doT starts donig some real damage at higher levels.

I've managed to solo mobs with bosses with spines, focus on the boss, and use spine burst asap to attack all the weaker dudes, jsut ignor then and only hit them with spine burst untill the boss falls. Works for me most times, unless i get mezzed = i get owned :P

Spines are a very, very good power set. Good damage, range and melee attacks, and Toxic DoT (which is not resisted by most enemies, PvP and PvE). A good Spiner can control and solo big mobs/crowds or even finish off more than one Hero at the same time in PvP. Spines rock!

wishful thinking...lol. I must be losing my influence over this community with all this talk about Spines and all **looks for the mind control potion again**

Seriously though, Spines is a good power, I've just never tried it, so I started a new toon Spine/SR (2 powers I've never given a chance). Not sure how high it will get though, but I'm curious aboutt he experiment though. Luven War is the name, dealing pain is my game. He'll be making brief appearances from time to time on the Triumph server. He's only level 2 currently, however, he'll make it to at least level 10 by the end of July...lol. Still have to focus on my true love, my highest toon C/N Stalker.

BTW, they did a real good job with the story arcs and contacts for the 40-50 levels. I'm having fun going through all I can of them (although I know one contact that'll be slower than normal as it'll need some constant help...Efficiency Expert Pither).
