What race/archtype combination will you be playing and why?

Just interested in what everyone is planning on playing and why you have chosen that archtype/race combination.

If I play, I'll probably go with a Halfling Druid. That's the only race/class I took to any significant level in EQ1. Halflings are just...cool!

Most likely...

Dark Elf Dirge or Guardian, or.. the old standby: Shadow Knight

As for why - well, a family needs to branch out somehow. This seems the perfect opportunity for my old, beloved SK's progeny to play their hands.

i'd say either dwarf or etrude cleric of sorts, havent decided what kind

Erudite illusionist...

Erudites look sweet (first and foremost) and the int won't hurt either. I can always cast an illusion if I get bored with the look, too. I'll be a sage as well.

Illusions are one of the thigns I love most about RPGs...I spent most of my time in EQlive wishing I had levelled my enchanter higher.

Keeping most things the same here, well the same as you can get from EQLive to EQII.

Dark Elf Mage will be the first to see the new sights. Then as time allows, Halfling Scout. Both of these just seem natural for me moving into EQII. Most of my family and friends wouldnt expect anything else.

I will be using mostly the character classes and races I used in EQ, mainly being:

Wood Elf Ranger.
Dark Elf Assassin.

Might try the gaurdian class, or a caster of some sort. But I usually prefer the scout types.

EDIT: Monks look very intersting... I'm leaning toward that atm. (7 days until release)

Months after release and my main is a Guardian. Ferio on befallen. Look me up if you need a guild.

On EQLive I played an Elf Ranger and an Iksar Shadow Knight. I am going to start off with the Iksar Shadow Knight route again. I have a feeling they are going to be closer in similarity to the FFXI Dark Knight than EQLive Shadow Knight.

Still haven't decided if I am actually going to buy it, but if I do, I will most likely make a High Elf Cleric type, and probably a Gnome Summoner type. Of course, a lot of it depends on what type of spells are available, etc. I may also choose to make a Ranger class depending on how archery is laid out.

Definitely a Kerran Troubador to start out with, but I may have a second account for my family to use and have a Wood Elf Druid type (my main from eqlive.)

I think I may split my classes now that I think about it. Meaning instead of only playing scouts, having like one of each just to test it out.

We'll see how it goes.

Iksar Shadow knight hopefully, I wanted dragons like horizons - so they are the only ones that are dragon like. Shadow kinghts are soo cool but the thing is everyone will be playing them according to the everquest forums.....
Any-one here from UK? anyone pre-ordering EQ2 with the Bonus cd? Amazon and play.com dont have it and i dont want to pay £20 extra to just have it shipped over here.

as my story impies (posted under fan fiction), I will continue the way of tranquility (played a human monk for nearly 4 years now). The twist will be that I am a half elf.
