PvE only
I got bored and curious. I've remade my necro about 10 times, my ranger about 5, my monk 3 times, and my warrior once.
What chars do you find yourself remaking alot? And how many times have you remade chars?

All of them, many times. I'm guessing I've had somewhere near 18-20 different characters. I've only actually beat the game 3 or so times though. Of those characters, I think I've taken at least half of them to lvl 20.

I haven't remade any characters. I spend to much time with each character, I can't just delete them. If I want to make another character, I just end up buying another account. I'm close to buying a third account in the coming weeks.

I'm a heavy role-player (with other games obviously), so when I make a character and commit enough time to them, I make an attachment to them. I love my characters, and would probably never delete them. Though a guild mate of mine has a nack for making new PvE characters because their 15k or FoW armor looks cool :-). But they never seem to last long enough to get the armor.

Let's see. I've got 5 characters which I won't delete as they've all got 15K armor and completed the Missions, but I've got one slot on my first and two on my second that frequently get a 'new face' so to speak. I always miss pre-searing when I don't have a character there, but always at some point I start rushing my 'new face' onto the desert and beyond.

:) gotta love the pre-searing. Every now and then, my PvP slot turns into a temporary PvE slot for the purposes of returning to pre. I've made 2 monks and an ele. All of which have since been deleted of course. Once they get to post-searing, everything gets sold, dye gets added to my collection in storage, then it's time to say bye-bye.

On my first account, i have 3 female char.'s i wont delete. But that last spot keeps changing. I realy suck at being a monk, i keep trying then i get annoyed and start over with a ranger.. then i get bored and try the monk again. lol
On my second account i have a war, a nec, and a ranger all male char.'s And i made a necro twin, in the last slot. That has been two much fun. :) She is the exact copy of one of my freinds necro and we made them at the same time. They are nec/mon so we cover alot of ground. I smite and make minions and he heals and protects. Pluss there is all the death and blood stuff, lots of fun.

How can you do that? The only characters I've deleted are PvP ones :p - apart from an Assassin but that was uuglly and I didn't put anything into it so..
I was considering deleting one from my first account as I'd like a pvp slot on both, but I'm hoping Factions will help me out there as I just don't know if I could bring myself to do it.. I kinda get attached to my characters :)
I don't know whether you're just oozing with perseverance and uhm.. stuff, or just.. MAD

You have no idea the torture I went threw when I deleted my monk. I think I would have had a better time at a public flogging where I was on the receiving end. :)
That was all before I bought my second account though. Sometimes I would just get the urge to start a new character and before I got my second account, I would have to delete someone every so often. It was torture, but it had to be done. Now I have two accounts, 7 characters and 1 storage character, and I am having just as much trouble deciding who to delete to make yet another character. :)
It's a vicious cycle, but hey, it's only a game and if I can't enjoy it how I want to enjoy it then why play? :)

I have 3 characters in pre... (I have two accounts...)
One of them reached post, just to put those black/silver dies and charr hides to my storage and then I remade him... Just to be in pre again.
I picked a habbit recently, I try to reach level7 as fast as I can, with doing every quests. My record with a warrior is level7 in 2 and a half hours... all quests and two minigames (Gwen and Dirk) done... (Actually, I did Dirk's minigame twice...) And I like to help beginners with the game.
Ummm... am I still ontopic? :D

I must be alone in my hatred of pre-sear. I don't understand why people like it, its all just too....happy.
Its great though when the Searing happens and turns Ascalon into a blasted wasteland.
Back on topic, I rarely delete PvE characters. If I take them past Ruins of Ascalon I will usually play them all the way through, with the exception of my necro who I deleted after just reaching the desert with.

I created my first ranger like 3x's before makin a final decision on what kinda ranger i wanted to be. Experimented alot with differnet builds to suit my needs and i found that the two combos of ranger i like is R/ele and R/mesmer. So i made 2 Rangers, i did not just want to go to the desert and change professions.
Then I needed some loot. So i made a Warrior/mo. Warriors are reliable so I Farm, do PvP from time to time, etc etc.
I tride playing the spellcaster roles(monk, mesmer, necro, elementalist). Did not like any because all you do is sit back and cast crap. But the necro is an versatile character which i did like but Gw Factiions kinda made me deleted my necro for future purposes!(Assassin).

I think I disagree. My favourite character is an Ele/Mo (I have two of them :D ), and I think it's fun to experiencing which spells are the best against the monsters... Which one is resistant to fire or weak against it, etc. My first character was a mesmer, and I reached Yaks (well, with some help from friends...), but then I had to realize that mesmers are not my style of play. It's fun to be a warrior, but from one's view it's all you do with a warrior is to run to things and hit them hard.
I think every profession is versatile enough, with proper skills. Like, I'm a primary elementalist, so usually I stay a bit behind the warriors, but there are times when I run forward, knockdown everyone with Whirlwind and so, buying some time for the warriors; or (when our healer dies for some reason) I run around healing/resurrecting people.
All professions are supportive: elementalist with background firepower, warriors with holding up frontal assaults, monks with healing, mesmers with spellbreaking, rangers with traps or interrupts, necros with curses or life stealings... of course, not just with these. One of the main reasons I like GW is because you're not determined: you can be an effective healer as a primary elementalist, or a good warrior with a primary necro (not as good as a primary monk or warrior, but good enough).
Basically, if I don't like how my character goes, I try to experiment with other settings: changing from sword to axe, from fire spells to air, etc. I only deleted my mesmer permanently, for said reasons. Remaking is a very last resort for me. (That Warrior I not remade just because I wanted to - quite the opposite. I ran out of space and I needed some of the items in post, so I just delivered the items and got back to pre. :D )

Well, different people, different tastes... :D For example, I like Gwen, but I know lots of people who haes her and thinks she's a spoiled brat. (Actually I shout at her when she keeps me stucked in narrow corners...)
It's OK as long as you don't try to force your opinion on others...

I have 4 PvE characters and there is no way i would ever think about deleting them. I have spent to much of my precious time to do that. I have a W/Mo-completed the game 15k armor x2, Mo/Me-completed the game 15k armor x1, E/Me completed the game 15k armor x1, and a N/Me-Hell's Precipice 15k armor x2. I never really wanted to be a ranger or a mesmer. They never seem to be that popular in pugs.
I like to have all these character at the ready that way i can help out guildies. I dont see how you guys get bored with playing them. I always have something to do with one of mine. =)

The one reason I like presear is because you can get so much good dye and make a decent profit farming. But you are right, it is cool to see Ascalon turn into a "blasted wasteland."
But back on topic, I ussually only delete my PvP character when I get some new runes since I'm trying to make an effective trapper. Except for the one time when we had the factions weekend. I deleted my PvP character about 5 or 6 times trying out different builds of the assasin or ritualist. Oh well, everyone is entitled to his or her own oppinion.

most GW-players find out when their char is suitin or not in yaks bend ive bin their many times over and over until ive got the chars ive got now and a small hint iff you s*ck at being mesmer but still want those precious skills just be like ele/mes or necro/mes instant completion

lol just started GW and decided that if i wanted another 4 more char. i would just buy a new acc. no point in throwing it away after SO MUCH HARD WORK spent on that cahr.
[just my opinion]
and throwing away char. wit 15k armour dyed blk...thats crazy lol

Dont get me wrong ! In no way I said those Spellcaster profession sux! I prefer dealing physical Damage. Its been like that ever since I played Diablo, warcraft, D&D , and all those fantasy-type games!!! Warriors and Rangers are what I like. I really cant wait to fully get my chance to play with that Assassin. During the PvP event, i didn't like the A/W preset. I think the assassin would combo better with and RANGER or ELEMENTALIST

I don't know why you kept playing as the A/W if you didn't like it. I know there was an Assasin/Ranger combo, and I think that there was an Assasin/Ele combo. Again emphasis on I think.

Umm because it was a beta event to test out the characters DUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHH.. I did not like the A/W preset because it did not suite my style of play Mister Know it all!!

Hey, I'm not trying to start a flame wars. I was saying that as a preset, there was a Ranger/Assasin (sorry about the mixup in my previous post), and an Assasin/Ele combos. Again, I'm not trying to start anything, I just was curious.

They were R/A and E/A, so they didn't have the assassin skin... so if you wanted to see how an assassin looks like, you had to stick to the A/W. There were two primary Ritualists, however.
