Pets and radiation...

Is it possible to use the Radiation power, Fallout, on a fallen pet? Just curious.

RE: Pets and radiation...

I've actually seen references to this since I posted this question and, unfortunately, powers like this that are meant to be used on dead allies, do not work on dead pets.

You are correct, sir. Much like Vengeance and Resurrect, Fallout doesn't apply to pets.

RE: Pets and radiation...

I know that my input is not answering the question, which was already answered, but wanted to throw this out....

I find Fallout nigh unto useless. You use it on a fallen comrade, with pets not being an option. Unless the team knows and respects that Fallout is an option, what usually happens is that the fallen member gets rezzed before I can get Fallout off. And even if I do, it doesn't seem to do much damage. I have a hard time justifying slotting a power just to use when a teammate drops. If the team is working as a unit, deaths will be few and far between. And like I said who wants to waste slots on a power the I may not even be able to use when the opportunity arises.

When I get chance and have the motivation to do so, I plan on respecing Fallout out of my build.

Yeah...All of the powers that depend on the death of a teammate are relatively useless (not talking about Resurrect and such). I had Fallout on my main for a long while just because it was fun, but it's fallen to the wayside with recent updates. It's always cool to pop it off, but, usually, no one even knows what happened or that you're the one that used it. It's very disappointing. It's sad that most characters are "cookie cutter" toons because some of the available powers aren't as practical as others.

I usually get a "WTF was that?" because they rose up out of the air and then back down like a rez, but the rez would come directly after. Confused the hell out of them.

Exactly. Most people just assumed that it was a failed res attempt. I guess the massive damage numbers flying up around them isn't enough of a tip off. :P

RE: Pets and radiation...

Actually, I do have a pretty cool story about Fallout. Once upon a time, one of my lower level friends came along with me as a SK. The team was made up of 4 or 5 characters, so we were running rather well. My buddy got a little far away from, and he took a quick face plant. Since I knew it was a great opportunity to throw down Fallout, I lit him up and cleared the room. Everyone on the team was amazed at the power, and they wanted to see it again. Long story short, this became our tactic for the next few missions. My friend would take a dive right after we entered, and we'd use Fallout to soften up the crowd. Teleport, explode, clear, rinse and repeat. Good times.

RE: Pets and radiation...

Fallout definately seems to fall into the "ammusement" catagory of super power. There are some powers I get just for that factor. I have so many good ones, every once in a while I have to have something to make me laugh.

Repel comes to mind. I can see where Fallout would be good on a well informed team. In a lot of cases when we are pushing our luck by cranking the missions up on Invincible for a toon 1-2 levels over the rest of the team, if the Tank goes down, the order to run comes quickly. Usually they have accidentally pulled more mobs than intended and the healer just can't keep up.

A quick Fallout and run would really help right about then. "Oh, you thought killing our Tank was the end of your troubles with him did you!?" BOOM!

Sort of situational like Vengance, but hey, Heroes die. We don't mean to but.........
