| What does Vanguard bring to the table? |

I don't know anything about this one so I'd like some input from anyone who know's anything. I mean CoH/CoV have limitless character customization, the new conan game apparently is more like realtime combat and lets you dismember people(can you say "soooooooooo sweet"?). I'm just waiting for a new game that is so good I don't want to play anything but it, is this the one?

Hi Lips,
Great to see wondering mind on all our GameAmp sites. So, welcome to Vanguard. And this is the game you have been waiting for!
Ok, that sounded too cheesy.
But still, it could be the case. The major asset I can point out so far is that everything appears to be executed perfectly. They have seen and learned what all previous MMORPG's have done wrong, and have tried to make it all perfect. I would recommend you check out our game info and screenshot sections, and have a look at the official site.
The game release is still a few months away, so check here frequently as we gather info when we get our hands on it.

Ok, blackphoenix, you caught me with my pants down. Most of my knowledge of the game comes from what you see here on our site. I have been wandering around the main site and it looks all well planned out. But my first impression is that it is another game set in a fantasy world much like most of the other fantasy MMORPGs out there. So I am sort of started to wonder myself why is this game here. And why does it have a good hype. And I could find anything yet. So, they must be bringing something to the table. Unfortunately the only thing I could think of when I replied was the political nonsense answer I gave lips. Shame on me. I hope I will soon come back to this thread and really explain why this game rocks.

They are being very vague on the official site about the "special" features they are planning on having in the game. They have mentioned that players will be able to effect the world around them, but they really haven't gone into details about how.
Hopefully soon they will release more info and we will be able to see what new things Vanguard will offer.

I was hooked when they said the bard will be like the EQ1 Bard lol. But really, it was mostly the crafting. I crafted in EQ1 and EQ2 and hearing about Vanguard's crafting style, I can't wait. Plus being able to craft with other people in a group to make all sorts of things sounds great to me. Also being able to make ships and town will be neat as well. I'm just real excited to log in, get some exp, and go on that raid in which there are some of each sphere on that raid, you don't have all adventurers.
I'm sure this game will have some flaws to some people, but to others, this game is what some of us have been waiting for. From the movies, screen shots, and the little bit of info they have given us....I'm just in awe and can't wait for the release. I'm just waiting for the NDA to be removed and soaking in all that great info from the beta testers. oh I can't wait.....

I hope so. After playing some of the games and handing us stuff, I felt cheatted in a way. I look back and I had the most fun in EQ1 before Planes of Power. After that they made the game easy. Then EQ2 was a joke, and never played WoW so can't judge my opinion on that one. But I really do hope Vanguard will be a challenging game in which it challenges the mind of the player(s) in which how to travel, craft, adventure, etc.
I'm ready to die a lot to explore, and have fun at it dang it. :o)

No worries Phedre_D, I couldn't find much on it either and I'm pretty good at diggin up info on the net. I must admit I was bein a bit lazy and not lookin that hard. :)
So, at least you had pants to get caught with them down. I'd be more worried if you showed up with no pants at all. :)
That's enough talk about pants, lol. The thing that's turnin me off about this game (and the reason I don't play EQ) is this:
Sorry, but animal heads on human bodies has never done it for me, so I think I'll have to pass.
