| Peoples Temple Social Club (PTSC) recruiting |

Peoples Temple Social Club is a guild forming in response to the lack of guilds recruiting highly experienced, active players that may not have been lucky to get in a top ranked guild before it was too late and are trying to find others with their motivation for PvP/GvG. This guild is forming with the intention of being highly active and sucessful in the realm of competative play, while maintaining a strong, friendly community. Here is what we currently have:
*Cape (very distinct)
*Guild Hall
*Free TS server
*forum
Here is what we intend to offer in the imediate future:
*unique domain (in negotiation as you read this)
*ventrilo server (in negotiation as you read this)
*frequent organized GvG/PvP matches
*exclusive recruiting
*limited size (to maintain the strength of friendship and the opportunity for everyone to play - who cares if you have a guild with 500 people you don't really know)
This is not a fledgling guild in the usual sense... We have all the resources needed to begin forming a highly sucessful guild, tomorrow. I have numerous builds that are tried and true (many from guilds i've been in such as NyaG, or from great groups i've played with). I also have many players that can guest with us until we can get our feet settled... Even if there are only four members when you join, there will be a GvG within a day or so. Here is what we expect from applicants:
*High PvP/GvG experience - rank 3+ for PvP players, or a demonstration of significant GvG experience for those interested primarily in that side
*Strong commitment to guild - we want people that are willing to struggle to build a top guild, not people who expect instant sucess
*Active players - you must play frequently to play part in a guild with our intentions.
*Vent/TS and a mic - if you can't demonstrate this, you either don't have the commitment or experience we require.
*Must be 18+ and willing to behave like an adult
If this looks like a guild you may be interested in, please visit to apply or find more info:

Please also feel welcome to come even if you aren't directly interested in the guild... the forums are meant to be a community, and all are welcome to come talk.
Thank you for taking a look... Please refrain from responding here to discuss things unrelated to PTSC recruiting... Feel free to leave a post if you are applying however. (questions can be directed to me at the forums)
you can also contact me in game by friending "First Templar Oleos"

How many people are currently in the guild? I'm interested in looking for a strong, GvG/PvP guild, that also has a helpful PvE side to it. I'm a R/Me17 with a W/Mo9 newbie file. Unfortunately, I'm 13 years of age, but I am very mature for my age, both physically and mentally. I won't act any younger than 18, although my birthday was in '92.

You should know by now that people on these forums hate it when you mention rank, you could easily IWAY your way to rank 3. I myself have been playing GW for almost a year and i'm not even rank 1! I can't bear HoH but i play alot of TA and CA and GvG.
In conclusion I wouldn't restrict yourself to Rank 3+ people, in most cases these wont be the most experienced players.

Now now. Some people feel that rank is what makes the player successful and not overall gaming experiance. It's ok if that's how he wants to run and recruit for his guild. Besides if it is a guild that focuses on HoH, then you are going to get alot of people who wouldnt WANT to be with someone below r3. You wouldn't want to have people from your guild leave because 1 individual doesnt meet up to its expectations.

lol no you weren't being angry. I'm just saying it's his guild so he can recruit whoever he wants. I say let him learn his lessons about ranked players and their behavior and if he feels that they don't live up to their standard he can always change his recruiting methods.

um, I kind of feared this would happen, but i had hoped that this wouldn't turn into a debate... I did not make a post looking to discuss the merit of rank, but to recruit members for a guild.
I also did not make a post asking for advise on recruiting standards for guilds. I am sufficiently happy with my experiences in this department; i have been in high-ranked guilds and community-based guilds, and guilds that don't measure experience and just take anyone. You don't have to agree with me, but i really don't care in the least bit about what you think, at least not in this context. This forum is for me to find people who think like me, and they are out there, and they populate the upper echeons of the ladder.
If you had gone to the site and seen that I said rank is not the end-all, but experience is, then you would see that i am not banking on rank as a deciding factor. I want people that can learn, have lots of unlocks, and something to offer, not a bunch of fame farmers. My standards are way beyond flash an emote and you are in. But, it doesn't seem like any of the posters wanted to visit my site and apply, just debate something.
But, if you do think having rank is not indicative of experience, than you are wrong. Rank shows that you understand what builds work, that even if you are fame farming on iway, you have played against all the different builds, and that you have enough sense to get whatever build you are running right. There are a lot of rank 3s that suck, but there is a stronger likelyhood that they have more tombs experience (even if not in your oppinion the most meritous) and suck less. Especially for Tombs, i don't understand how you can say someone is experienced with tombs if they haven't hit r3, even if not intentionally. Rank three means you have to play actively with a good build for about a week. I hit rank 3 ranger spiking after classes for about 8 days, and then i was there. The fame you get from making it to the upper levels of HoH almost tosses you into r3, and it makes no sense to say you are experienced if you haven't won a few times in Tombs. But, i really don't care... you can have 0 fame, and if you can prove that you know what you are doing in HoH and GvG then you are in.
And with regards to IWAY, i dont want to know about how it is fame farming noob build, etc in your mind.. IWAY is a nuisance, and it made me stop doing tombs for a while, but it is not an exploit or a hack. IWAY gets you as much experience as any other build, assuming you plan to play similar roles in balanced groups.
Experience is more important by far than fame, but IWAY helps to get better... Even if you think it is lame (I do too) and think it should be nerfed, you need to swallow your ego and realize that it is a real build. The problem with IWAY is that many people that don't know how to play it, or don't have the patience to keep groups, and don't have the inovation to use anything but a cookiecutter idea... But the parties that do modify it, do stick around to progress as a group, they are the reason it exists and is hated. IWAY is very similar to any old warrior-heavy balanced group... Orders for damage boost, trappers to shutdown enemies who make mistakes... It isn't an exploit or a glitch in the code. People gave it a name and chose to blame it, but it isn't a flawed build, otherwise nobody would use it. It is a great build with a lot of clowns that use it. Just like a balanced build, if the warriors run into traps, you lose, if the group doesn't rez fast enough you lose. Who cares how you go about doing it?
But, regardless, please don't post in here if you aren't interested in joining my guild. I am not asking for advice on how to form a guild or what to look for, i am asking for people that like to win in GvG and PvP to contact me about joining my guild. There are guilds that value what I do, and they are the ones that are tough, are restrictive, are unfair, and are dedicated and want to develop as a group.
I am not trying to be rude, and i would love to talk about that sort of thing, but this doesn't help me reach who i am trying to.
I don't know where to go from here... if a moderator wouldn't mind taking all the posts but my initial post and creating a new thread about the merit of rank or whatever it is everyone is after, i would greatly appreciate it. If you think this is where it belongs, so be it. In my oppinion this debate being here only hurts my recruitment, nothing more.
even better, i created a thread on my forum where you can come discuss this. If you are mad that people choose rank over talent, come to my site, help build my community, and have the same conversation. Unless you are credit farming here (not like IWAY in the least bit, no no)... Keep sending in those pictures, guys.

Regardless, thanks so much for the responses. But, please, please, start a new thread and let me recruit :D
