What are your thoughts? Did they skimp on the MP version of D3 because Single Player was a much higher priority or will MP D3 be just as strong as previous ID Games?

To be honest, I would relish a good single player game. But if the multiplayer is great, we will be there.
While they have set in stone a limited multiplayer, it’s the quality that counts. If its there, I will be there to.

I'm guessing it will be the top game for 1v1s for quite a while - the lighting engine will add a whole lot to the range of possible tactics. On top of that, there aren't really many games being designed with 1v1s in mind. Most multiplayer games nowadays are made for big teams.

If anything I appreciate the “back to the basics” stance ID has taken with this game.
For all the upgrades and visual pizaz with it, it does seem like multiplayer it will be close to DOOM2.

Well so far so good. I have seen over 80 players on the PG 1v1 ladder at least. Then add OGL, TWL and CAL... 1v1 and 2v2 tdm are pretty hot right now.
Alot of players will make names of themselves soon. Stay tuned!

I've been debating taking a crack at the ladders once I fix my ISP issues (wook 2 weeks go me), and I think the game has untapped potential in great user maps.

Oh no doubt. With all the meshes and textures that are in this game. Some seriously evil and scary maps are to come hopefully.

I wrote about it, but as it stands.
I want a level like when you first meet the revenant (that setting owned), a good excavation level, and three serversings of hell levels.
