Developer Interviews

Here at GameAmp we have some big things planned. We of course have regular "text" based developer interviews, but we also have a very big feature that will soon be implimented. We're going to have on air audio shows via internet radio with developers. Which brings me to the point of this post. Based on what you know about the game so far, what would YOU ask developers if you had the chance? What aspects of the game would you like discussed?

We look forward to your feedback. :)

Re: Developer Interviews

I would ask:

When can I play???

No seriously, I would ask for some specific details about the tradeskills. I would like to know if there will be magical items that will enhance tradeskills. I could ask a hundred questions on tradeskills alone.

Re: Developer Interviews

Combat system.

It seems that EQII will be Tactical combat, more in-depth than what we saw with EQ.
As I understand it so far, in a group, there will be "Heroic opportunities" that present themsleves in combat.

Will solo combat also have the same or similar opportunites? I guess I am looking for something more than "Doom", "fear", send in the clown.

Can't wait for the surprises.

Re: Developer Interviews

1. On both a minimum spec system, and the fastest system available, what are zone load times?

2. Will there be any places straight out of EQLive (with updated graphics of course)? Not just the same name (Like Qeynos or Freeport), but something that truly survived the Cataclysim. Example: A building in Qeynos having the same footprint as the old Warrior guild from EQLive Qeynos. Another Example: Ruined landmark, like the bridge to Southern Karana in ruins....

3. How long will the EQ2 install take?

4. It was stated that the betrayl quest is a way to interact with the Antonia Bayle NPC...are there any other quests that would unlock some form of encounter/interaction with Antonia?

5. Can we expect more 'GM events'?

6. More scripted events that can involve more than just those who started the event? (I loved lending a hand on the giants in Great Divide that would attack Thurgadin in the final stages of the ring quests.)

Re: Developer Interviews

I'd be very interested in seeing dynamic trade quests added into the game (if they aren't there already.) If you've ever played Medievia (A MUD) their trade system allows you to buy goods at one vendor, and travel, via roads only (no teleporting or flying etc). You gather data to find out which goods to buy and where they sell. You then buy from that town and travel to the next town to sell. Now, the coding prevents you from using any type of transportation magic as you are pulling a cart along behind you. This requires you to do it the old-fashioned way. The coding also allows for a Mob-Faction designed to attack you randomly for the sole purpose of killing you and destroying/stealing your goods. In the mud, you see signs of this as you move from room to room with "hearing snaps of twigs" and "goblin cries" etc. until it it ofcourse leads to its final conclusion of you either beating the mob faction or dying and losing your cargo. I could see a system like this being implemented into EQ2 and always wanted to ask if they've ever considered an idea like that.

Re: Developer Interviews

-What kind of approach is EQ2 taking to the "leveling treadmill". What are they doing to make getting EXP fun?

-The entire mage archetype has been given qualities usually considered related to Enchanters (Crowd crontrol, mana buffs). What kinds of things is Sony doing to keep Enchanters as a unique class?

-What sorts of prejudices or tribulations might a character who does the betrayal quest once they arrive in their respective foreign city?
