On the official EQII website, there's an "Artisan" archtype listed. Whether or not this will actually be an archtype or just something you can pursue along with your current archtype I dont know, but maybe you guys could put it somewhere ;D
Great website & forums btw.......its great to be helping out and giving reminders on adding things and such =D

arisain (spell cheak) is a totally differnt thing that you primary archtype. Meaning you can be a whatever and an aristain(spell cheak once more). you will gain levels by crafting but it won't be the same experience as you would get in a battle. then when you get to the "crafting level" 10 and 20 you get to pick what class and sub class you want to have.
So in other words you can be both a (not gonna bother spelling this time) and a other class.

EDIT: i agree you should put artisan in the classes link ill give you all the info i know about it if you need it.

We will have a Tradeskill link with just a placehold page giving the basic informatin on the Artisan path. We are developing an interactive module in the future that will give much more detail about the artisan path once we know more and once we're allowed to release such. Stay tuned!

With the new Expansion pack 2 subclasses have been added for artisans / crafters and they are tinkerer and transmuter. The tranmuter extracts materials that help the tinkerer augment existing items and it should be great fun seeing how they play out.
