What is (IYO) the best Necro Minion around (taking everything into account)?
Animate Bone Horror
Energy cost:15, Activate:3, Recharge:5
Exploit nearest corpse to animate a level 1-14 Bone Horror.
Animate Bone Minions
Energy cost:25, Activate:3, Recharge:5
Exploit nearest corpse to animate two level 0-10 Bone Minions.
Animate Bone Fiend
Energy cost:25, Activate:3, Recharge:5
Exploit nearest target corpse to animate a level 1-14 Bone Fiend. Bone Fiends can attack at range.
I prefer the Bone Horror...mosty because the energy cost for the minions and the fiend is to high (IMO)!
Also at lvl 14 the Bone Horror makes a pretty decent meat shield/ally!
Please share your thoughts! I wanna know!

do horrors and minions have different attacks or slower health degen then each other.I though the fieds shoot arrows out of their necks (?) but how are the other 2 unique as such.

I like to use Minions because it makes two, and Fiends because they can attack at range and do damage.

Well, there's the fact that from one corpse you get one bone horror or TWO bone minions. I don't know the other differences, but then again, that means it's a minion for 12,5 energy, and you can have twice the amount of dead bodies.

bone horror only gives one, bone minion gives 2, thats it, I prefer Horrors since they take less energy

If you want lots of little Minions running around and are quite strong also meatshields you should use the Bone Minions, if you want to keep the Minions alive while they fight then use the Bone Fiends, Using Blood of the Master and heal area, and If you want just meat shields then use the Bone Horrors, they are strong in attack but weak in Health...and cost less too...
It just depends on the user is all.

Well, for me, I prefer the fiends. With soul reaping at set at 10 and switching to a +15 energy/-1 energy regen wand, I can pretty much make a few in a battle.
I normally run the following skills to support my opinion on the fiends.
Since the fiends use ranged attacks, I can stand behind them and cast Dark Bond which redirects 75% of the dmg from me to the nearest minion. Even with my blood attribute at 0, it still lasts for 30 secs-for only 5 energy!
Verata's Sacrifice, you give the minions +10 HP regen.
Blood of the Master, heal them.
Taste of Death, suck life from the nearest minion to keep urself alive.
Since my 2ndary is a memser, I use the elite skill energy drain for refilling my energy pool. And also equip archane echo so I can make more fiends.
Just me and my style, mind you. There are other ways.

Thanx guys! Great stuff! The Bone minions might be good also and i know the fiend is effective! It's just harder to use as a meat shield! But they look super ;-)

Fiends ftw!
I just prefer the ranged attack, makes them easier to heal generally as they tend to stanbd ina group so the area heals work better, also heal area doesn't heal foes as well (always fun to do..)
Plus, they look cool :]

The fiends are easier to heal as they group but that's why they're also easier to nuke. I prefer the fiends as they attack from range and faster than the others. I think the fiends attack once every 2 seconds and the others once every 3 seconds. The fiends also have less armor and health so they aren't the best choice for tanking. Fiends are good for damage, horrors for tanking and minions for Death Nova bombing and soul reaping as you get the energy from 2 dying minions.

well i prefer horros and feindshorrors are 2 levals higher than minions. they attack slowly but pack a heavty blow and are a good enough meat sheild to keep the foe distracted. a good mix of the two feinds and horrors are handy because if feinds are attacked they wont last long. i tend to keep my soul reaping at about 8 or 9. each mm has there own ways of doing things and i have to admit im not the best. but it can be good fun.
my favorite i suppose would be feind but they each have their advantages and disadvantages 25 energy is allot thus creating them during the battle and not spending too much energy on healing them brings much soul reaping.

You guys are missing the point...
A Necro has Soul Reaping therefor has enough energy for another minion by the time you are done casting 1 minion...Anywho, the only time ppl use Minions is when they are a MM so really the max lvls are Horrors + Fiends 18-19 and Minions 14-15. IMO Fiends are the best because they attack at distance, have a less chance of dieing, and do piercing dmg wich contains a slight armor penatration. You gotta break down the statistics so everything is nt just "Horrors because they are less energy." My point rests...

I play horrors and fiends. With my soul reaping at 9 and maxed death magic as long as something is dying I have an endless supply of minions.
I have been playing N/R and experimenting with healing spring to heal the minions, but I'm finding that the mobility of heal area my just work a little better.

I use bone horrors for blocking foe's an the fiends for interrupting foe's (and for damage ofcourse).
If there are enough dead bodies its not a problem to use both cause you get enough energy from your soulrapingpoints.
Keep them alive if there is no fight takes more energy.
And staying just behind your fiends makes it easy to heal them and its pretty safe there...

well the thing is.. to be a minion master u have to have the correct skills.. u want max death and max soul reaping(death should have elite death and soul should have major soul reap for it at least) and u use these skills
1.animate bone fiends
2.animate bone horrors
3.veretas sacrafice
4.offering of blood[E]
5.blood of the master
6.death nova
7.taste of death
8.ne/mo=heal area ne/r= favorable winds
(i prefer using a necro/ranger for favorable winds for the fiends to do that much more dmg.. +6dmg per shot will do some serious dmg with an army of them by ur side)
and with offering of blood you wont need to worry aboutr energy problems.. you just hit that skill and ur energy goes up more than half ur energy bar..

ur thinking of doing an energy build with them thoguh.. minion masters need higher lvls for higher dmg.. if u use minions say in the desert.. youll get a** raped there cuz tehre so low lvl.. no skills would be able to keep them alive or do enouhg dmg so u dont get killed. if ur using minions for energy though.. by all means so it.

i only dont like the fient in energy side, you get less of mutch.
they could better lower it too 20 energy, it then still is a special thing but doesn't give you less then neaded.
i must say i dont like the blood of the master, it's good and all but i can never get more then 4....maybe 8 fiends at ones before they die one by one.
