Code 40

What is code 40?

I went outside of war camp, and was booted. Now, I cant reconnect...its give me code 40

same i just tried to change district and now i cant load any area, select a character and the area never loads with any char, havent had a code 40 message tho

Oh wait yer... code 040...

A quick sneak peek in Google failed to give any specific answers, but by the symptoms you are suffering, I'd say it's a connection issue, perhaps related to server problems.
Somewhat a mystery.

Edit: I've also had problems outside War Camp. Everytime I exit to Grenth's Footprint, there's an immediate and severe lag of up to a minute, which reoccurs every five to ten minutes. Quite annoying. The rest of the game world works just fine.

I also have two accounts. And other one is working while the other is giving the error msg...

Tried to enter War Camp... now both are giving the code=040

im getting the same thing but i was in ring of fire i can get on 2 my chars now but i noticed 1 is in my gguild the ether isnt anymore thats wierd lol i thinking bout trying to join new guild se wat happns.

I've submited a big report to them before, but that was a few months ago. I really wish they would fix it. If anyone else has this problem, complain to ANet about it. If we get enough people to bug them, maybe they will seriously consider fixing it.

mines starting to bug out in pre-searing ascalon city. I can tell most people get this in Southern Shiverpeaks or ring of fire but mabey its an overload in players in one area...just a guess

So far as I can tell, it's not guild, area, or account. My BF and I both just got kicked, I was in Prophets Path mapping to Hero's Ascent, and he was somewhere in Kryta. I'm in a guild, he isn't, and we're on separate internet services.
