Farming place plz...

Hey, i've finaly made it with many time spending on this monk... dam all those runes and ankh cost a lot!

But anyway is their my question.
I've did old UW with my monk and a ss/sv, it was kinda fun to try this out for a first experience. I guess i've did well for the first time.

But anyway i was thinking, except this place, when i am alone, where are the good place also to make some farming, could some1 tell me where?

Around drok i've heard about troll farming, seeming not to hard to do.. is their any other place?

Thx

Trolls are easy to kill, they dont have ANY good drops the only reason to farm them is to Power Level someone, Griffons and Minatours are one of the best droppers and ettins so I've heard. Ettins outside of Beetletun supposebly drop lots of runes and such...

Titan farming is profitable too, in order to farm them tho you need the quests given by Glint in Droknors, which you can only get after finishing the Ring of Fire missions. I use the Lions arch one and farm the titans right outside. Lots of good rune drops and good cash drops, I make approx 2-4 plat + rares per run. Takes about 15 mins a run

RE: Farming place plz...

just use a regualr SOJ 55 monk to solo the titans, although im guessing a 55 IW mesmer would do ok at it too.

Trolls do drop gold Raven Staffs sometimes, even with perfect mods.

My favorite place to solo farm with my 55 monk is just north of Camp Rankor. There are a lot of Blessed Griffons that have a lot better drops than the Mountain Trolls near Droknar's Forge. You just have to be careful of the Stone Summit Heretics, but even they can be taken out with enough skill. I like this area a lot more than most because it isn't as mindless or easy as farming the Mountain Trolls or Desert Griffons.

RE: Farming place plz...

yeah lots of people are starting ot use IW mesmers in Uw and such, its basically the same build as a 55 monk with a few exceptions, here is one build...

Skills:
Illusinary Weaponry
Archane Echo
Protective Spirit
Mending
Essence Bond
Healing Breeze
optional
optional
Usually one of the optionals is some form of energy management, the other sometimes Guardian, sometimes Backfire, or other form of attack.

armor: generally Enchanter's Armor (but its the same as the monk 55 doesnt rally matter)

Attributes:
16 Illusion
7 Healing Prayers
9 Protection Prayers
9 Inspiration or Domination depending on what optional skills you take (usually inspiration for energy)
6 Fast Casting
3 Inspiration or Domination (which ever you didnt pick from the above mentioned)

and exact same method for a 55 monk, cast permanent enchants use protective spirit to keep damage down, healing breze to keep health up and use archane echo then IW for attack.

I could have posted this in the guides section, but there is prob something similar to it allready in there, if not i will post it later.

oh you didnt have to give me cred for that, that was just filling in a question you didnt even ask, to answer your question tho, you can also farm alot of avicara in the southern shiverpeaks, they can be quite rewarding, just always be on the look out for avicara wise, u dont want to take on a group if they are around. Other than that griffons in crystal desert (outside augury rock) are excellent, and so are mountain trolls in the southern shiverpeaks (just outside droks in a cave to the north), but they were allready mentioned. other than that i cant reall think of too many other profitable things for solo monks.

In addional to all the above monsters, try the Hydras just outside Augury Rock in Skyward Reach. They drop max damage Elementalist and Necro items mostly, and pretty good cash drops. Their Dessicated Claws can also be used on a collector that easily brings in 750g each in Ascalon. Give it a try, I use the following build:

Mo/N

Skills:
Spiteful Spirit
Prot Spirit
Healing Breeze
Blessed Signet
Mending
Watchful Spirit
Balthazar's Spirit
optional (can be an energy management, condition remover, or whatever else you like)

Attributes:
12 Curses
15 Protection
9 Healing
5 Divine Favor
(should have 2 points left over)

I normally stayed away from the hydras because of their knockdown, but I think it would be pretty good to have. Would SS or SoJ be better for that though, because the hydras are generally casters they don't affect/damage those around them unless they are all grouped.

Personally, I like SS much better than SoJ for the Hydras. They come in groups of 2 or 3 (or more) and 2 casts of SS, which takes 24 seconds, kills them all. Since they cast the long spells like Meteor, that is just wasted time with SoJ, and SoJ doesn't knock them down.

RE: Farming place plz...

Whatever you use, make sure you wait until the Hydras have all gone through their 2 main firings of meteor/fireball. One of the main problems I ran into was that I was being interupted putting on SOJ. Once I waited until they all had hit me with a meteor, SOJ went on and they died. I also like using zealots fire when SOJ goes down as I hit them for damage just by healing myself. Also, zealots fire will chase some away for a second for my mending/watchful spirit to catch up-that way more than 5-6 hydras can be attacked at once. Being a secondary warrior also is nice because of the spinning axe attribute. Its cool spinning around hitting every hydra for damage. You can kill them within about 20 secs and move on to the next group because you have bonetti's for quick energy renewal.
My 2 cents
