Guild wars is a diablo clone

Look at the character classes of diablo 2

mage
barbarian
necromancer
ranger

look at expansion
assassian
shaman

look at guild wars

elementalist = same as diablo 2
warrior = same as diablo 2
necromancer = same
ranger = same

assassian = same
shaman = smae

only thing differant is the names same basic ideas a slight modification. still all in all its a clone. 3d and not cheatable but still a clone

warrior aint the same as a barbarian
necromacer is in many other games
diablo didnt create the mage kind
oh and rangers has been in games for years

shaman and ritualist!is not the same
never seen a assassin that teleports and uses spells :P

so i see this thread as pointless

so will u plz stop writing this ---- it is useless and pointless

diablo wasnt the first game in the world ffs

PS. guild wars dont look as diablo many ways

i hear what your saying but i still say is very generalized with the same basic ideas as diablo... i dunno maybe i am wrong. dont get me wrong with over 700hrs of game play in 2 months im very addicted to this game. i love it. but i would like to see more original thinks i mean look at the seer and mursaat they look like they are out off starcraft. i love everythiung blizzard has put out and i look highly upon anything arena-net puts out but, id like to see something original. but yes i agree with all of you most games are basicly the same setup except for the aliens o.o

When it all comes down to it, any game is almost a clone of the originals.
starcraft='clone' of total annihilation/TA:k
guild wars='clone' of diablo games(possibly cause they were both made by blizzard devs???)
diablo games= animated d&d

no matter what you say any games will have references back to previous games of the same genre.

yeah its a clone just like every other game... they all involve some kind of computer or board or cards or balls its so blatent. the only origininal game was doom 4 was nothing like anything ive ever seen before.

Yes, I do see very many similarities between Diablo 2 and Guild Wars. Hell that's one of the reasons I love the game; I was a huge Diablo 2 fan for years. However, if you made a list of all the similarites and all the differences, I think that you find about 1000 times as many differences.

Soccerer- Lightning fire and ice are the atributes. the elementalist has earth magic.

Barbarian- much more complex than a warrior, there is much more masterys for wepons then on guild wars. plus they use corpses, warriors dont.

Assasin- the assasin in diablo 2 is much different then guild wars assasin. in diablo 2 the attack system is much different. you can use moves to create orbs that surround you and you can use a finishing attack to unleash all of the orbs. assasins attack in guild wars is different. you have to use them in order for them to work. diablo 2 you can use them in any order. assasins in d2 can use one wepon or 2, guildwars you must use 2.

now for the gameplay.

Diablo2 has a much different gameplay then Guildwars. there is 3 difficultys in d2, normal nightmare hell. guildwars it gets harder as you progress. you can only get one henchman in d2 and you can get a variaty of 10 i think in guild wars. there is no form of res in diablo, so if you die, you go all the way back to the outpost, but you can still continue your progress, but you lose all equipment. guildwars you have dp and you can be resed. lvling is harder in diablo and much longer. guildwars is longer but you can only get to lvl 20, instead of 99. skill points, you can take them back in guild wars, in diablo 2 you cant. you unlock the skill and keep lvling it up, so you have to know what your doing when you make your character. guild wars makes it easy so you can switch it around and that makes it fun so you cant test new things out. guild wars you can have a secondary profession, you cant do that in diablo. there is no Monk, unless you think potions are very reliable. you wear 8 pieces of armor in diablo, 5 in guild wars. weapons dont require a certain thing for any specific class to unleash there maximum potential, in guild wars you do though, but thats were secondary professions come in. energy and life gradualy increase, you chose how you want it in diablo2. there isnt many conditions in diablo 2, there is many in guild wars. in diablo your either really poor or really rich, you cant be too much better than noobs in guild wars.

well these are some reasons how guild wars is not a copy of diablo 2. there is alot more, just because the character bases are similar doesnt mean its a copy of it

There was nothing original about Diablo except Sean Connery voicing the local Apothecary :p
As far as ideas for fantasy games I think everything can be found in the Bioware titles. But they didn't really come up with any of them either xD.

well, the only games that are origonal is just a small list:
FPS: wolfenstein
puzzle: tetris
rpg: zelda(can be breath of fire, never was in the rpg back then)
stratigy: kddnt
action: nightmare s60
adventure: mario(i do think metroid prime, but let's leave it like this)
fighting: ...i'll keap it on finla fight
the verry first game: pacman

and there is just one game that uses stratigy, FPS, rpg and adventure in one, and that is dungeon keeper.

correct the wrong ones if you nead too.
