Help with Dwarf! Please read!

Hello everyone,

I'm about to start playing Lineage 2, cuz im tired of Diablo II. I already have a few friends who are lvl 30 (Artisan, 2 Healers [one dark elf, one elf i think]). We have another person who wants to be an orc, and then I've decided that I should be a Scavenger.

As you know, screwing up a character build in Diablo is EASY, so im really worried about what skills to put in.

Here's what I know I'll do for sure (unless it needs redirection):

1. Max Spoil as much as possible (im a scavenger)
2. Max Weapon Mastery (more dmg)
3. Max Weight Limit (faster spoil, etc)

Now here's some stuff i DONT know for sure:

1. Max Blunt Mastery
2. Max both Stun Attack and Hammer Crush
3. Max HP size and speed of rejuvenation
4. Max Heavy Armor Mastery
5. Spoil Festival?!?!?!

I'm not sure if I should do Blunts for this guy. The Artisan in my group chose Polearms, and I notice that he does miss alot. But according to the skill tree, Wild Sweep is MUCH STRONGER than Stun Attack, and the same goes with Whirlwind and Hammer Crush. I chose Blunts because of this article:

Which do you guys think is the best?

Which is more important as a Dwarf: SIZE of HP, or SPEED of HP increase? Does it matter?

Also, is it WRONG to put points into both Polearm AND Blunt Mastery, or should I stick to one of them solely? I dont want to WASTE points.

I'm guessing Heavy Armor is the best for Dwarfs. The bonuses for Light/Robes seems to lean more towards MP.

Choose Blunts

Choose Heavy Armor

1)Max out stun attack and hammer crush (just so you know
hammer crush is the next stage of stun attack)

2)Also max out the blunt mastery and the heavy armor mastery

3)And then get Vital force and Boost HP as soon as posissilble after you maxed out the 1 and 2

The get Weight Limit when it is possible

You shouldnt be really worried about wasting too much SP (skill points) as you should have enought to get all the powers until the new ones come (thats the way the game has being designed)

Personally I havent gotten my dwarf above 20 since, like many others, just use him as an afk store and to create soul/spirit shots. But getting him to 20 as you'll see is no easy task.

I can tell you you need not worry about making mistakes when it comes to skills. Youll find Dwarves have more SP (skill points) than skills to aqquire. Also unlike some other MMo's your character is more based on your gear than your skills. Take a look at Anti Magic for example, you can get the same effect (+ Magic defense) from one piece of jewelery.

I really wouldnt recommend starting out in L2 as a dwarf but if you can play that class then more power to ya. ALOT of people like to randomly kill Dwarves since they are a popular choice for botters. Instead ignore the race and find a class that your friends are lacking, and level up a dwarf on the side.

I agree about not starting off as a Dwarf in L2...thats is, if you don't have others who are helping you out alot also. The Dark Elf that i'm playing with is giving me 2 million adena to start, and the dwarf is giving me 1 million (ironic on THAT one, isnt it?). Also, my purpose is to AID the Artisan. If I was playing this game without those guys helping me, I think I'd choose an elf or an orc.

More questions:

1. Is Spoil Festival good/better/worse/mediocre compared to the normal Spoil?
2. I'm looking at the bonuses for earring, ring, etc and they seem really small. Are they big, and I just don't know it? Are there special skills that they have that are not listed in the Items directory?

3. Here is what I would think is THE IDEAL Dwarf, though I know I'll never get to this point:

Weapon - Elysian Axe
Shield - Shield of Nightmare
Armor - Armor of Nightmare
Feet - Boots of Nightmare
Hands - Gloves of Nightmare
Head - Helm of Nightmare
(Note: didnt add rings and stuff cuz i'm still unsure about them)

am I correct about this?

4. Just a fun question: if I was using the Scavenger to get rich so that I could fund a FUN character, which one is the most fun to play?

5. To the two people that posted so far: do you guys still play? Are either of you on Erica by chance? That's what my friends play on, though everything I've read points out that Bartz is the most lively. My friends chose Erica though because they heard that since its not as lively that there are MANY less botters. I'll admit that I botted Diablo II, and it ruined the game for me.

Um bonuses on earrings, rings and necklaceses... They are pretty much none existent in the lower levels... I know that the S Grade necklace is a overgood... But in reallity you wont get that...

The set up for the hero you showed me shows me that you're a begginener!!! not that theres anything wrong with it, but improvements can be made...

example: Art of Ballte Axe +10 is better that just a Elysian Axe... Art Of Battle Axe gives you 25% extra hp so if your hp bar is 4,000 it will go to 5,000.... And that axe +10 makes the p.atack go to 245(i have one) .... this is 13 more that Elysian Axe...

So if you do a bit more research you will find out whats best.... But damn you are talking about A grade, on a x1 server like yours, do you have any idea how long thats going to take you and duting that time how much you will learn about the game... +Dwarfs are very slow to level up so you will have time to think about it :)))

You say you want to be a scavanger so you can become rich, an even better tip is to make a scavanger and a artisan...
The scavanger will collect the material your artisan needs for whatever you wich to build... Fastest way to make money if you know where to hunt.

And you say you want to have a fun character, so that rules out all the archers out, its pretty much hit and run with all of them... I think an Overlord is quite a fun character to play (i have one) he can buff, he is one of the 3 best Pvper's in chronicles 3, he can use his strenght to PVP and go up in levels, he has differnet powers to other people and can have various tactics to play with, and in a PVP you can stand you ground for long, they are able to absord alot of vilence, so you wont go down in 5 seconds if there are a couple of people beating you up... So yeah Overlords are fun, try them...

And as for spoil festival, I have no idea what you are talking about??? plz explain

Spoil Festival is a skill acquired around lvl 28, and it's not on your guys' site, but it IS on lineage2.com

Like I said, the equipment I mentioned was just "in theory".

Also, remember that my roommate IS an Artisan and will make everything FOR me.

I think this is a BIG problem with Lineage so far: items are not documented on websites AT ALL! I chose the Elysian Axe because of its raw P. Atk. But then you told me about the bonuses Art of Battle Axe gives. How would I have EVER known that??? It's not documented ANYWHERE, right?

Ooh! Another thing: how do you make a weapon +6, +10 etc?? Also, how do you know how high that level can go?

I was refering to the +M def from all jewelery not the MP set bonuses. Showing how gear has more effect than stats in most cases. Ie Anti Magic level 1 gives something like +3 M def and just one Apprentice's Earring gives +11.

Spoil is a single target skill with a higher % of landing than Spoil festival which is an AOE (multiple targets) skill. So get them both and use spoil festival when you go through the herding faze.

As with most other sites we use whats called the L2DP ( http://www.mithral.com/~beberg/L2DP/ )which is an SQL driven database. Unfortunately this DB hasnt been updated in a VERY long time. Im currently working on gathering as much info as I can to create our own and get up to speed (or closer to) with C4.

So I guess the best way to learn is to play it then, right? It's just such a habit of mine to get everything totally laid out in terms of skills, armor etc. Hopefully i'll be ok.

First off all, when you enchant a weapon the p.atack and m.atack of the weapon increase, also if you enchant it alot then it will start to glow, the more you enchant the more brighter the glow will get...

- Enchantements: You get them throught monster drops, or buying them off people, you cant buy them in the shop... Keep in mind that they are quite expensive if buying them off people, knowing where to get them might prove to be a better option...

- Weapon Breaking: Now it seems all too easy, just enchant and make your weapon stronger, this is why the game doenst allow this, I mean some people pay real money in life through credit cards so they can money in lineage 2, so they can buy whatever they wish, its not fair on other people who arent able to do that...

So this is what happens as you enchant a weapon to a higher level the probability of a weapon breaking gets higher also... When a weapon breaks you, it just dissapears and you get crystals... The crystals are whatever grade the weapon is...

If you look on various websited you can see the statistics of weapons, it shows p.atack, m.atack, and there is also a grade statistics, often is says grade and under it there is a number in brackets... That number in brackets represents how many crystals you will receive if a weapon breaks.

The highest enchantment I have ever seen is +16 and that is a very rare enchantment... A lot of people can't get past +6...

Oh and forgot to tell you that as you enchant the weapon more it will start to glow, the more you enchant it the brighter you weapon will glow...

About the documentation of weapons and the bonuses it gives - its true that not a lot of websited have those but if you really search intensly then you will probably find whatever you need...

How I know all this is by playing the game, reading just about every topic there is about linegae 2 on the net about PVP, weapon bonuses, best chars, about everythings... Also looking at screenshots helps too, look at screenshots where people have clicked on their weapons, it shows the bonus that it gives....

So im curious ivailo, what would you consider THE best equip for a Dwarf at each level? Here's what i've come up with:

1. Nightmare ( A )
2. Doom ( B )
3. Full Plate ( C )
4. Brigandine ( D )

Would this be accurate to say?

Also, what would you consider the "best" Blunt at each of these grades?

I'm really appreciating your input.

You're learning quicker than i though you would...

For D Grade its:
Brigadine Set = Brigadine Tunic, Brigadine Gaiters,
Brigadine Helmet, Brigadine
Weapon = Tarbar

For C Grade its:
Full Plate Armor Set = Full Plate Helmet, Full Plate Shield,
Full Plate Armor(this is the top
and the bottoms joined in one)
Weapon = War Axe(mainly because of the look) but you can
choose Yaksa Mace too, its better but people
prefer War Axe because of the look
War Axe = p.atack 139/ m.atack 76
Yaksa Mace = p.atack 156/ m.atack 83

For B Grade its:
Doom Plate Armor Set (thats what most people pick)
Weapon = Art Of Battle Axe

For A Grade its:
Nightmare Set
Weapon = Elysian Axe

so yeah you predictions are pretty accurate, well actualy 100% accurate...

But rememeber that Art of Battle Axe +10 is much better than Elysian Axe

Just so there is no confusion (or loss of adena)...

Level 20= D grade

Level 40= C Grade

Level 52= B Grade

Level 61= A Grade

Level 67= S Grade

3 million adena should get you everything you want up to level 40...

But you said that your frined is giving you his brigadine set which means that you don't really have to worry about D Grade armor...

Until level 20 you should have saved up around 250k, and the from level 20 - 40 you should have saved up something like 2.5kk ...

So I guess with a head start of 3 million and a brigadine set you won't have to worry about money up until B Grade, or maybe even A grade...

That doesnt mean that you can relax and just waste money around as a dwarf you probably won't really have to worry about money until A Grade, because you get extra things which you can sell for a nice profit...

yea, that makes sense.

So I got so anxious to play this game I started :P. I'm level five right now and I'm doing the quest where you kill the wolves for that lady.

Well I guess you are trying to talk to you friends... Well you have to know their names... For example if one of their names is Hectic you cant just write that in order to talk privately to them...

You have to do this "Hectic and then say whatever you want

That thing in front of the name can be done by presing shift then 2...

Partying = You have to go to your statistics box... where you can see you p.atack and m.atack and stuff, and there on the top there are 5 pictures click on the 3 one and there are various boxes with blue things in them... Look at them and one of them should say party...

To party with someone you click on the person and then click the box i told you to find... But remember that they don't always accept the invation... Or you can just ask people to party and if they want to they will send you an invatation...

These will come up on the bottom left next to the chat screen... You have to press yes in order to party....

Getting kicked off the server isnt you problem or your pc, it happens to everyone... From time to time the server has restarts and boots everyone, some servers do it often some not so often... and if the game is lagi that means sometimes that there is a lot of people online, sometimes even a good computer can get lagi...

ya, it didnt do it as much this morning...actually none at all. last night it would kick me out every few minutes.

it seems pretty fun. im level 11 right now and not doing too bad. i heard that i should be a girl, cuz if i can fake that i AM one you get free stuff. lol stupid boys :).

1-11 took me a couple of hours, and im hoping 11-20 takes me the same :P though ive heard it takes awhile to do so.

so i learned both spoil and sweep (search). whenever i go to spoil, my character moves in very close as if to attack. after its casted she goes on to swing repeatedly. i thought spoil didnt engage them...?

It does engage them.... If you notice as soon as you do spoil to the monsters they go for you too :))

+ Spoil is like a debuff for monsters in order for them to drop more things, so yeah they will react and your character automatically after should start fighting...

Some other questions that I've thought of now that i'm playing:

1. I really want to build a spellhowler (nuker) now, and want HER to be my main character, but use the Scavenger to make the money. What are good items to spoil for, and what monsters drop them?

2. Since this character isn't my main focus, I want to get her GOOD armor, but not A grade stuff I dont think. It just doesn't sound like a Scavenger NEEDS armor like that. (Obviously, a Spellhowler is more likely to help take on Antharas or something) If i want to fund another character, should I stop at a good C grade set like Full Plate? Or am I going to need something like the B grade Doom set for this character?

3. How much adena DOES it cost to get each of these sets, (Doom, Full Plate). Another good way I want to ask this question: if I have 40 million, how much should I put into my dwarf, and how much for the howler?

If you have 40 million do 50/50... 20 million will securely get you up to level 52 on both characters. Thats without the drops that you will be getting of all the kills, if I consider the drops that you will get off the mobs, you probably wont ever worry about money.

To have a nuker for main and a dwarf for support is good, most people pick dwarf so they can fund other characters, and ultimately thats what dwarfs are for.

I can give you advice though on the nuker, dont pick to play a SpellHowler, they arent very good compared to other ones... Infact they are quite bad overall, even melee fighters have a chance of beating them up...

If your going for a main nuker char i suggest you pick one of these three classes.
Spellsinger, Necromancer, Overlord... Sorcerers is quite good as well but not as good as those three..

And get the dwarf dressed up as best as you can, dont plan on having C Grade armom up until level 60 or 70 it just wont work, the monsters will just rip through that armor...
+ You arent losing any adena, but the stuff off people and the when you go onto the next set of items sell the stuff you have for the exact same price
