My Stalker on CoV is fast approaching lvl 40 and i'm going to need a new project so I started a Storm/Elec Defender .
i'm new to the Storm pool so i'm wondering if O2 Boost is worth taking? i know its not much of a heal but it sounds like a decent buff.
Is it worth taking?
Oh and he'll need a SG *digs Firespray in the Ribs*

It is most definitely worth taking, even if just for the buff. Not only does it clear status effects, but it heals decently, especially at higher levels. If you are one of those people who have a running partner that you hang out with all the time (like I do), he or she will thank you for it in the long run. Your little heal can make the difference in a battle, more often than not.

I'd agree. It's a really good heal to have. Because of it's dual bonus of heal and clear mind type effect, it makes it one of the best single target heals in the game. I'm running one of these up myself. It's lots of fun.

Don't blink or you'll forget how you made it to level 10!
Another good thing about O2 boost is that it'll help you get teams when your regular friends aren't around. I can keep a team of about 4 or 5 healthy being the only healer on the team as long as we aren't getting too crazy.

My main 50 is a Storm/Elec and I have to say I loved every minute of the journey, well done on choosing a great combination. ;P
As for O2 boost, yep an essencial power... works as a short term buff against sleep too, very handy. It's also the only heal-other ur gonna get ;P

I do agree that it is a great power but the question is what kind of toon are yoyu planning on running? I have a lvl 50 Illusion/Storm Monk that essentially is a loner that has been brought to the US in search of a missing piece. Being that he is a loner he has no heals for anyone else. Also no recall friend and such. Thundar knows the toon .... MindzStorm if you see him. He has personal defenses and attacks. Anything in the set that helps him lol. The ride was long to 18 but from there it was so quick I don't remember alot of it. I think the highlight was taking down the Madame of Mystery alone.

He rolled up a Defender. Storm/Elect. Just like Little Thundar.

02 boost is great- but you have to be careful with it sometimes if you want to be more of a Storm Defender than a healer. I've seen many teams carelessly rely on a teammate with 02 boost to keep them alive while the poor guy really wanted to be in the battle.
It's a good heal to have. Just be aware that some (uneducated) people will automatically assume you are the 'healer' and you can end up boosting more 02 than doing much else.

That's very true Electra. I think that's one reason so many stormies pass it up. If they wanted to be a healer, they'd have rolled an Empath. They don't want to be expected to be the healer just because they have one. Storm is way to fun to not be doing stuff. Too many people make the assumption that all Defenders are healers only, or healers first.
What I have done with my Storm Defender is to pick the person that is taking the most damage, and run assist through them. I really don't want too much attention, Defenders do have that squishy quality to them! The dang Snow Storm usually draws a bit too much to me, but I know run and hide pretty well from running so many Blasters. Usually it's a Scrapper or Blaster drawing a lot of attention, so I target them and keep running the electrical blasts through them to their target. Increasing the damage output on that enemy, and hitting the heal when their health dips. I get to participate, they get the aggro and the heals for the most part.
Every once in a while I'll change targets to reactivate Snow Storm on an enemy that I think will get saved for last, then I go back into assit mode. I rarely have to switch teammates a lot to heal like an Empath. Most of the time you have a primary aggro drawing player in the group(That used to be me. I like to play the psycho Blaster!).
Little Thundar is only level 12 right now, but he's been a lot of fun to play this way so far.

I have an earth/storm controller, who is so generally slow and deliberate, I often have time between effect activations to run as a fairly effective healer using only O2 Boost. I'm loving it!
Also, Electric, I think I teamed with one of your alts, Little Lilac, before hitting lvl 24 and finally getting a travel power. Nice group you've found here! :)
