Dude NERF paladins...
Heh, this is the rogue forum, don't be trolling!
Rogue is pretty cool, we don't need to be nerfed, we're soft targets. If the enemies actually manage to hit us, we're dead. We have to constantly keep on top of it to stay alive when fighting at even levels or above. (Well except apparently when under level 20, but thats been a long time ago for me......) I am level 50 and soloed a level 48 elite but it took every single trick i had to win including a bandage while the enemy was blinded and a healing potion. I may dish the serious damage but get it right back too.

nerf=action from devs to weaken someone/something
example, if theye remove evasion from rogue cause theye have good evades allready it would be a nerf
and no I dont mean remove evasion from rogues, it was an example :p

Oh man nerf nerf nerf.....Am I on the City of Heroes site hearing people complain about Scrappers being gods.
Nerf...ha. Man Rogues kickass, nothing more fun than pickpocketing an enemy, then running a dagger through their heart. Good times, good times indeed. Rogues are pretty impressive characters but I have to agree with another poster that Paladins are pretty strong.
I decided to make a Paladin, he is now 9. Was teamed with another 9 Paladin when we got attacked by 3 level 10 Prowler wolves and 2 level 9 bears. Despite the fact that we only have 2-3 attacks, with only attack being the strongest. We survived. Using two different heals powers and buffs helped us survive. My rogue at that level would of been face 1st in the dirt.
No I say for once, stop the insanity and say no to NERF.

guess original poster got wooped hard by a rogue and its easier to shout nerf then to admit you need to rethink your tactics and/or get new equipment.
Ah well
ow, and I forgot, noobness is no excuse for apologizing for a question you asked. --asking questions is a very good way to learn and wisdom beats noobness ;)

Rogues are the strongest thing in WOW, nothing can beat the abilities we have. AND PLUS u havent seen nothing when u talk about rogues, my lvl 28 rogue did over 180 damage with his daggers and with out using his spells. Most rogues are best in groups as 2 which is considered DUAL shadows, or shadows. there the best pvp u'll ever see.

Rogues are very versalite players, they can solo quest or be vital in a group. I solo'd most of my quest up to late 20's and then found a rogue partner. We then have pretty much did every quest together (no other assistance). We do run instances in group (of course but that is the exception). Now I am near 54 and loving the power.
I can hit a 5 combo Eviscerate for damage of 900 to 1100. I can hold multiple opponents through stealth tactics (sap/cheap shots) and pretty much control pace of the fight. Add in pickpocketing they are very fun to play. Problem you face is that there are seem to be more rogue players than most other classes. But yes rogue are a fun class to play.

I like my rogue, just wish there was more rogue type stuff to do as I like sneaking around for chests, which most aren't worth much, but if there is only 1 creature defending the chests I usually sap, loot, then stealth away in true rogue style.
Just hit 57 and haven't done any of the big instances yet, most of the spam I see for people looking for those say NO HUNTER/ROGUE.

Kazyn 60 Human Rogue - Perenolde
Colgar 50 Dwarf Paladin - Perenolde
If at first you don't succeed, rez rinse repeat.

I mostly solo, so I play a rogue first, then a hunter. I've also just started a warrior, but she's only level 2, so I haven't formed much of an opinion on her.
As I said, I mostly solo, so my level 23 rogue is cautious and levels kind of slowly. There are a few rogue skills I am not very knowledgable in because I haven't been using them and learning the correct ways by trial and error. Bleh-
I agree that there needs to be more rogue stuff, like picking locks, picking pockets, etc. I just did the DM instance for the first time the other day. When we got to the locked door, everyone was set to blow it up to open it. I was like, hello? can I try picking the lock first? Click! Unlocked the door on the first try :) Silly groups, locked doors are for rogues.
Rate other people's posts to give them feedback. I will frequently rate the first post of a new topic at least a 3, because that person is keeping the forums busy. I also will rate posts on how helpful they were to me, or how helpful I deem them to others. Please rate my posts to let me know if they have been useful to you.

The only reason someone would want to nerf a rogue is because the person playing the rogue pulled out all the stops and didnt mess up, which is hard ot do with a rogue since missing hurts us more than some classes.
I like my level 20 rogue (Poisons are loverly) but i havent gotten to the nasty post 20s very much yet, so we'll see.

My fiancee and I both made undead rogues on Frostmane the other day. Yesterday I was in a pretty shitty mood, really didn't want to level just wanted to stab people (both IRL and in game =/) so he queued us up for WSG. By the time I stopped playing I was lvl 13 with 4 winning WSG under my belt and pretty happy.
Did you know ever time my rogue drops into stealth in WSG the 007 James bond music plays?
(well at least in my head, or if I hum it.. writing a script for it to actually play now :) )

There really is no one best class to be. Warriors are probably the easiest to play and mages are the most powerful. But rogues and hunters are by far the most popular. Read the description of each class in the manual and see if anything sounds good to you. If something grabs your attention, then select that class. If nothing grabs you then make a bunch of different characters and see which ones you like playing the most.

there is a way to kill anyone in 2 hits! i have found out a way mostly unfair in bg's ect but since this newest patch 1.9.4 or somthing you can kill in two hits if your a 26/23/0 this secret is used only by the guild sinisters evasion. others may know about it but i am willing to share it with guildies come join us! we have 1 guild recruitment movies that show's that we will be the baddess!

Although formidable, the Rouge is not the best class. In my opinion, it would be the Warrior. Properly equipped, spec'd, & used, even the Rouge's Dual Shadow or Stun-Lock Style falls short.
Rouges are a Soft class, & as such take only a few strikes to fall. Plus if a Warrior's high enough, often they can see through stealth for brief moments at a time. Once a Rouge's cover's blown, they're little more than an annoyance....

so its great to see a rouge try to sneak up on you.
i saw a rogue out there killing stuff and whne he turned around he saw me at a distantce so he natrually stealthed. to bad im a human and have perception which allows me to detect stealthed things. so i pop that and i see him "trying" to sneak up on me i cast frost nova, blink, then the grand finally. Combustion (makes my next fire spell an instant crit) then Pyroblast(biggest fire spell in my arsenal) and BOOM one shoted rogue KTHXBAI

Nerf Rogues? We can hardly scratch epic outted Warriors. We're also not special if we don't attack first. Evasion on warriors = free Overpower hit for the warrior as well (which is an attack totally dependant from normal attacks, so the warrior can hit you with their heroic strike, and then hit an overpower on you as well at the same time). There are always counters; although casters are squishy, they can kite the hell out of a rogue, same with a good hunter that knows how to kite with concussion shot. If your sprint, blind, abilities are all expended you're pretty much F'd if a a ranged DoT class is starting to gank you. Druid's have Fearie Fire which prevents rogues from stleathing for a whole minute+lowering armor... so many counters against a rogue, I shouldnt give them all away.
And our strongest asset in my opinion? Stealth of course! When we start a battle from the shadows, ya, we're pretty damn impressive. Especially if you're good at chaining stuns together. Leather armor isnt great either, I think rogues are nicely balanced and should never be nerfed.

A rogue with patience is a deadly foe indeed. Rogues, just stealth and keep at distance. Then you'll see the silly human use his stealth detection... keep waiting in stealth and keep your distance. When you think its safe to enter in his comfort zone, begin your combo.
Or if you're impatient Sprint up to him, Throw a blind power in his stupid ugly face, laugh at him, vanish... and begin to stunlock (although I've never done this, it has potential to work if you practise a strategy for it in duels. I mysef like to save my blind powder for a 2nd opener after a cold blooded ambush)

I'll humbly disagree with you. I have been playing WoW since it released. The Rogue class used to be Godlike.. heres a short list of how things used to be, imagine if you will a world when:
-Ranged weapons were broken and you could shoot them as fast as you could click.
-Riposte had no cooldown and it triggered when your attacks were parried in adddition to when you parried an attack.
-You retained combo points on dead targets allowing you to get a free Slice and Dice.
-Lethality affected ambush.
-We could Evis for over 3000 and weapon speed mattered.
-In beta you could backstab with swords
-Mages couldn't blink out of CS or KS?
-You could run while bandaging
-Feint gave a Combo Point
-We could one-shot casters
Back then Rogues were overpowered.. Now the class has alot of issues as developers felt the need to gimp and gimp and gimp us. There was a time where hunters died to rogues in a pinch. Now the only time I attack a hunter is when he's looting, then i cheap shot him FTW.. I know I'm new to this website but I saw alot of posts from new people to the game and I hope I can be an asset to this, what it appears to be, fledgling community.
Good day.
