Proffesion SPECULATION thread

Well, i was thinking of making this thread while going to school. How 'bout a lil' Proffesion speculation, for what's coming after Factions. I was thinking of the Wanderer.
I'll describe it a bit, and in this thread, feel free to release your thoughts.

To start of i'm gonna make a bit of a story about the gods of this character

Viarr and Dhall

Viarr and Dhall, twins as they where. Looked almost indentical, but however carried two different personalities.
Viarr, was at young aged, confronted with the lore of the beastmorphers, a tribe of odd people, all with two personalities, on being their human state, and the second their beastform. Viarr was bitten at young age, by a werewolf, and was now contamined with a gift; the proffesion of the wanderer.
Viarr learned to control his extraordinary powers, and learned to hunt, as a beast. Afcourse his father was proud of him. He; as being a ranger, and partially a beastmorpher, learned his son to control his powers when he was in a beast form. And learned him the tricks of a true hunter. He thought him how to strike fear in the heart of his foes, and too thought him the lore of survival.
Dhall on the other side learned the other side of the proffesion of the wanderer, he learned herbalism from his mother, an ancient art of preparing mixtures of various herbs and medicines to the aid of others.
Dhall and Viarr, learned from each other and thaught each other the tricks of the wanderer, both expanding their proffesion to the widest level. Dhall and Viarr, whe expelled when they where at age, and lived as hermits and studied the ancient lore of the wanderer. Dhall and Viarr, after years of training, taught others, especially the youngster in small villages who where interested in this proffesion, who wanted to explore the world from a different view. Viarr and Dhall thaught them the lore from the forgotten roamers of the forest; Eztyroth, and Garbathan. Those where known as the gods. Though they where forgotten, Viarr and Dhall studied their books. The true secrets those books contained are forgotten. Viarr and Dhall took them into their grave...

The Wanderer

primary attribute: Bestiality
Herbalism
Fear
Scent Magic

Weapons; well when you are in a beast form you can't use wands or staffs or bows and whatever. You've got fangs and claws right? I was thinking about bracelet or something for the zealous and that.
When you are normal, (not in a beast form) you'd be using something like a cool short swords or something like that.

Armor; You've got fur when your a beast, and some savage robes when in your normal form. (You know what?! I'll make some drawings and post them!) I'd guess something in earth colors and armor that's tottaly the opposite of the well looking elementalist. Even more savage as the muddy normal rangers druids armor.

The damage; Well, ehh Claw damage. And fear damage or something like that. And smell damage. (Ooh no Rancid Meat!)

Now, Bestiality will include the skills which whill make you "shift shape". Think of werewolves.
But also bears, tigers, hogs. And i was even thinking of rabbits. I think that when you hit while in a beast form you gain 2% of your total health. And being in a beastform causes exhaustion over the time. And causes afcourse an energy maintainment. It would take long time to change into a beast, so change often is harsh. And it cost a lot of energy to be morphed. ( I hope this makes it a bit balanced)
Skills would be like this:

Rabbit form: Form <1 energy regainment. While maintaining this enchantment you can't use other skills as bestiality.
Your attack speed and power is reduced by (33% - 45%) but your movement is increased by (25%-37%)

Garbathan's Rip: If it hit's Garbathan's Rip deals 23-41 damage and Blinds your target for 9-21 seconds.

Beastly Apostasy: All your non bestiality skills are disabled for 16-7 seconds but you attack 10-25% faster for 7-16 seconds and you gain 2-6 bestial strikes when Beastly Apostasy ends.

Razing Gash: Target foe is knocked down for 1-4 seconds and suffers from deep wound for 4-6, is struck for 12-35 damage and you are knocked down and lose all Bestial Strikes.

Pulverizing Pound: Target foe is struck for +14-34 damage

Fleshdigging: For 10-28 Your attacks have 10-28 chance of additional armor penetration of 10-28, when your attack penetrates armor you steal up to 20-40 health from that foe.

Path Of The Exiled ends when you are healed or when you have an ally near you.

Feral Thrust: attack: You strike for 10-35 damage and if target foe suffers from a condition you steal up to 10-45 health.

Puncture armor: Attack For 8-17 seconds target foe loses 20%- 36% armor against physical damage.

Flinging Claws: Attack. You strike twice attacks against target foe. These strike for 25% less damage but cause bleeding for 4-11 seconds.

A little bit monk style but these ones have a longer casting time but have a longer during effect.

Fear would be something to let your enemy move slower and cause more exhaustion. Fear would include some hex magic, protective stances and shouts.

Yeti's Cry: All foes in the area are struck for 40-90 damage and will suffer from an additional 10-23 damage when hit by cold damage

This is what an unguent really is:

A salve for soothing or healing; an ointment.

So, we've already got a soothing ointment skill in Guild Wars.

The next question would be:

Is Troll Unguent made by trolls, for trolls, or out of trolls?

Hmm... :)

Pancake of Doom, I give you cred and props for putting this out there for the masses. Who cares what the beastiality part is referred to in other parts of the immoral world.

Good job, keep up the thinking. I like the idea of maybe playing the role of some of these pets [not in some sick-o way either].

I'm pretty sure Pancake ment the first of three possible definitions. Maybe a bit of the second, but certainly not the last.

You didn't make any mistakes there, I was just being silly. :)

It's rather ironic, but I think most of you with English as a second language type/use it better than most of us yanks over here across the pond.

So, personally I think that Troll Unguent is made out of trolls. The warriors beat on them for a bit to tenderize it, the bone horrors grind em up, the monks infuse it with healing properties, and the rangers package and use it. lol

Sounds alittle like WOW.

I always thought it would be nice if you could change into an animal.

Another thought I had was a knight or lancer on a horse that would have good impact power and endurance and speed. And he could use a mace or axe in melee and a bow as a range weapon. They could have it so you can buy 15k horses in diferrent colours.

I'll think we'll have maces in factions and your idea looks much like the Warrior Ranger Peorhum. He can use both Warrior weapons and Ranged weapons. Mounts are something what are much discussed read about that in other threads, i don't want to make this go into an to Mount or not to Mount thread.

Honestly man it's made By trolls for trolls AND out of trolls! Geeze don't you know anything?

He he he so basically you want this guy or.... "Thing" to be a different like... I unno race or something and smell like rotting meat? I unno that's wha tI got out of it.

So out of all that gibberish (sorry half of it I didn't care to read) I got that you wanted to have a character that wasn't human.

And this idea all of the sudden cameot me. The idea of different races BUT! Instead of being equal, the races could each have their own li'l I unno attribute.

For example, if you had like a swamp thing esq creature as a character it could be immune to poison (it lives in a swamp duhh) but because it's a weed it'd be prone to fire attacks and or burning. Or a rock creature immune to bleeding but blind duration is doubled etc.

And then a character that floats because floating is FLIPPIN COOL! As soon as I saw omgwtfbbq the Mursaat can float! I was like ooo I wish I could float!!! And have the white mantle armor... Damn that armor is hot!

Anyway I literally just woke up turned on some new torrents and am getting ready for a day long fiesta! (a movie night/day) So I will make just as much sense as yesterday... which would be 0... On a side note I am now henchment Dependant ;'(

I have not read other treads on mounts for warrior, I will look out for them and yes it does sound like a warrior ranger but that misses somewhat of what I am talking about.

Briefly as it seems you don't want to hear about other types of characters but what you have thought of and what other think of it, let me say that I have read in some fiction where "lancer" that only fight from horseback with their lance being their main weapon with which they charge and withdraw then charge again using the horse's weight to impact and kill their foes. The other weapons like swords or maces are used in close(melee) but charging is the preferred attack form. And horsebows as well are used against fleeing targets or targets that can't be charged.

Just recently I read Robert Jordans wheel of time novel "Knife of dreams" it gives a good account of what I am talking about. Please understand I am not talking about warrior rangers that are mounted.

RE: Proffesion SPECULATION thread

Whoo, nice topic.

I LOVE some of the skills listed up there, Especially "Fearsome Stance". IT doesn't seem overpowered, and it's very, very cool.

There were some that were a bit too good though, like Throw. Knockdowns are traditionally quite expensive.

I'll have to think up stuff for that Wanderer class, but in the meantime, I'ma throw my idea out to all of you guys.

In a new post though. So's I can update it as Pancake of Doom is. AND so people notice.

RE: Proffesion SPECULATION thread

Adding a new attribute for each class would be so cool. Like these...

Ranger: Morph (Shape Shhifting)
Warrior: Might (Dunno but it sounded cool)
Monk: ???
Mesmer: Music (skills to buff the party through insterments/dances)
Necro: Betrail(skills that the whole party sacrifice health to do mass dmg/effects)
Elementalist: Plant (such as skills like roots to trap enemys)

RE: Proffesion SPECULATION thread

I am now thinking of a Disciple or something :P. One who could choose either as good or bad. Something like this

Demonspawner: One who creates and summons creatures from the underworld and who siphons power from the amount of chaos on the battlefield.
This one too has the posibility of mix-ups of attacks and casts.

Heavens disciple: One who carries melee weapons and has the possibility to give his weapons more power, summon divine gods or something and who has the possibility to some interesting mix-ups of casts and melee attacks.

an example:

Summon Hellhounds: Spell: You summon 2 hellhounds at lvl 2-20 who have a possibility to strike with additional fire damage. These suffer from health degen of -2

Burning Sword: For 9-27 seconds your attacks strike for fire damage and you have 50% to set your target on fire for 2-6 seconds.

this for the Heavens Disciple:

Celestial Strike: If it hits Celestial Strike does 20-45 holy damage and if you hit an undead with it target undead foe suffers from health degen of -4.

Divine Aid: You summon 2 Divine Creatures who have 75% to block incoming attacks of allies in your area.

I updated; more skills for the wanderer.
