My opinions and views on the future of Guild Wars, because I know that my views mean so much to you. I have my likes, my dislikes, and my hopes.
Likes
- PvP Updates - I want bigger maps, more people playing, I WANT A WAR, not some small 4v4 pansy battle. I also am looking forward to the update of fame. There will be more ways to earn fame in the upcoming Factions addition.
- Cities - I like the new oriental cities coming along with factions.
- Items - Green items spice up the economy a bit and give some real, non-farmers, a chance to get some gold, but they also have a downside.
- Armors - We could all use new armors, and god knows we need a FoW replacement. More armor types adds more variety to the game.
- Chars - More hair styles, more faces, w/e, its all good. Its sooooo boring walking about in Guild Wars and seeing tons of the same characters. And the supposable editing of character's features is a welcome addition to the game. Bored? Why not go get orange hair?
Dislikes
- Assassin and Rit - They feel like a weak attempt to make new professions, from what i've seen theres not much coming from these two.
- Cities - Some cities are really unpopular and its so hard to get a group, maybe more people need to play the games and stop getting runs, or maybe more people altogether need to start playing the game. I hate doing missions with henchies but sometimes thats what is needed in order to get a decent party.
- Items - Greens are both a blessing and a bane of the economy, though they allow for more non-farmers to get some gold, they also become quickly abused by the farmers and therefore drop the price of the green items within a couple days.
- Armors - Though I like the fact that new armors are coming out, hopefully with different skins, I feel somewhat jipped that they will not provide a greater armor bonus, it makes me feel like a waste of money, but then if they were stronger, and had more armor, then my 15k glads would be a complete waste.
Hopes
- Ranger -I want Rangers to have the option of being a sniper, trapper or a beastmaster. I want the beastmaster to be a reality, not just a dream.
- Going along with that I want pets to have a bigger role, and become a bigger part of the game. I want the availibility to have more than 1 pet (at a time).
- Items - I am really hoping that more item "groupings" will come out. By groupings I am referring to white, blue, purple, green, gold, etc. Hopefully some more of these will come out, " WTS super-ultra-uber rare".
- Armors - Hopefully there will be some cool armors that are kinda collectory (let me explain). Armor availiable by PvP rank, armor available to the top 100 ranked guilds, etc. Things like that. Also it would be cool to win armors, as prizes for certain events.

The assasin and ritualist are ridiculously awesome.... Those are the only things I'm really looking forward too.

pvp wars would be very difficult you know. for a start the lag for people without broadband would be to much and it would still be very difficult to get a group anyway (imagine having only one monk on each side =( )

MMOFPS and things like Star wars battlefront manage to have 24 people in a room at a time with little to no lag. it can be done.

yes but guild wars is a game for everyone no matter what internet connection or computer but a pvp war would just terrorize people without broadband with a a gigantic laggy wrath.

Gaile gray has said something about groups made up of multiple teams of 8, whether this is Pve, PvP or both is not confirmed.
| QUOTE | | Assassin and Rit - They feel like a weak attempt to make new professions, from what i've seen theres not much coming from these two. |
Disagree i believe these 2 have a great deal of promise, combining the Assasins shadow step with other classes such as the ele would be lethal, ritualists would also be a good support class with spirits acting like minions for extra man pwer, spirit weapons for modifying attacks, and other spells for protection and healing.
From what i saw on the BETA weekend assasins are capable of dealing ALOT of damage in a short amount of time, the key to this is timing combos and avoiding aggro/attacks.
I personally believe the new classes are fresh and exciting!

So true, i agree totally!
| QUOTE | | Items - Greens are both a blessing and a bane of the economy, though they allow for more non-farmers to get some gold, they also become quickly abused by the farmers and therefore drop the price of the green items within a couple days. |
I personally dislike greens, IMO they are the sole cause of our rapidly declining economy.

Guild wars is not focused on gear, increasing armour levels would be going against everything the game stands for.

This could be sweet, would i be right to call you a WoW player, or not, because they have this in world of warcraft.

why do they suck? i think the assassin and the ritualist will be a great addition to Guild wars. The assassin could weaken your opponents and tele back out before anyone can hit you and the ritualists will be great for guarding certain places (for example the guild lord in GVG) with spirits

i hope that you can unlock better looking armor along with faction. like you could unlock 15k armor with faction, since all classes come with on 15k type of armor (at least i think they do)

my hopes for the future will be
u can be good or evil,3 diffrent game types, like ur own personal story mode, pvp mode, and regular mode, making like 15k armor being a little bit better than pvp armor, making green weapons be a little bit better than pvp weapons, being able to go to underworld city or heaven city (depends if ur good or evil), instead of victos have soul edge in underworld and soul caliber in heaven and the rarest sword can be found any where like if ur evil, u can only get a soul edge in the underworld but if ur good, then u can only get soul caliber in heaven (can only be found) and the mystic sword can be found anywhere. WAR, more control on combat, and fusion pets.
AND FINALLY SOME1 HATES A ASSASIN! its pretty much useless cause u can do alot better job as a warrior. i have no problem with the rit, if theres goning to be a assasin, then they will need diffrent weapons, such as throwing daggers, sword and shuriken, and the armor should give them 25% or higher (depends what armor u get) to evade attacks

You shouldn't judge them before you've played them. There isn't anything wrong with them because you don't know them enough. So some of us might have played them for TWO days. The only way to get to know something is to properly play it. You need the skills too and it was quite hard to get them (2 days and alot of faction needed).
Factions looks like fun. The environment defiently looks pretty ^^

An assasin can deal alot more dmg than a warrior if combos are timed correctly, they can also inflict more conditions with their attacks such as blindness and poison, they may be a little weak but Anet will adress that before the final release.
I believe the assasin will be a tough class to master, but once you've got the hang of it, you'd be able to do sweet amounts of damage really really quickly.

I think it would be cool to have a REAL beastmaster and charm multiple animal. This doesnt have to bee too extreme, maybe you can have the choice of charming one big animal like a bear or bull, or charm two smaller animals like having a leopard and a wolf. Kind of like a MM raising 2 weaker minnions as opposed to 1 stronger one...
I dont know if anyone ever played the game NOX (it was a fun game but never really took off) but you could charm a bunch of animals... It was pretty cool.

Personally, I feel that the ritualist will function sort of like a battery necro does now: it won't replace the monk, but it will vastly increase the monk's power while still allowing for some offense. The assassin, on the other hand, people simply haven't played it enough yet, something like the Mesmer. Mesmers, some of you may remember, were widely considered to be crap for months after the game came out because no one really knew what they were capable of. The same is true of assassins; no one knows what they're truly capable of yet.
As for the Assassin's running style, yeah it would be cool if they ran like in Naruto (that's also how Tengu run, and the Tengu running style has always been really sweet).
For beastmasters, all of you who say, "I wish beastmasters were actually a viable character type" have never played a beastmaster, or you would realize that they ARE a viable playtype. They're more difficult to manage than a normal character because you're effectively trying to play 2 characters at once, but they work wonders. Ra/Mo smiter chars can be very powerful; Strength of Honor on the pet and Judge's Insight on both can hurt like mad, with Ferocious Strike and Call of Haste along with other bow attacks can be a superb damage-dealing tank.
Edit: And NOX was an AWESOME game, though the AI was a bit weak (you could kill enemies that were about 20x more powerful than you by running around in a circle and repeatedly casting the weakest spell in the game). Westwood's games were always wonderfully done.

cred for this... that is a great idea I absolutely love it and I think if they did something like that it would be awesome. Also I think some mosters should be harder to get and the harder ones too get should be stronger.

I have played a beastmaster, ive played the smite pet build the hammer pet build ive done em all. I love pets, but the reason i deleted my ranger is beacuse pets are virtually worthless IMO in both pvp and pve. Sure you win a couple matches and confuse the other team with "wth had balth aura on it????" but really they should and could be a much better type of ranger.
