Compared to what you are getting, mine is a piece of dung. BUT it does everything that I want (and need) it to, amd I built it myself. It was built top speed about 2 years ago when I constructed it. AND it cost about 1/3rd of a comparable system at the time. Dont ask me why, just a tight shopper I guess. I am frugal beyond compare.
Oh, and I'm not trying to be a wet blanket. Kudos and congrats on the new system. I hope it rocks! BUT I have to say, I never buy off the shelf. They always end up being a major headache. I have had to fix/tweak/clean up more "off the shelf" systems for friends and family than I care to mention. I need an aspirin just thinking about it. My "home grown" is powerful good for the price, and never a headache. It must be the love I massage into the cpu when I seat it. LOL
Whups, just rechecked the specs. Looks nice still, but I am a little put off by the hard drive and memory. No big deal, personal preferrence I guess. Also, I know it comes with it, but is Windows Media Center really good for what you want/need? I have no personal experience. I generally wait on OS upgrades until I am sure the bugs are worked out (MS is buggy in the first iteration generally). Heck, I waited until SP2 before I bought XP because of the reviews, and personal experience.

The reason I got those hard drives is for music backup. I store all my music on my computer and I need the room. I know what you mean buying already built computers and I was a little ehhh at first when selecting it but the Dell XPS system is supposed to be really good. I built it online myself and I put a 4 year warranty on it. So, if anything goes wrong it's covered. Even though by 4 years all the parts will be ancient. Heck a week after I get my pc the parts will be ancient.
