| Stacking with Shadow Fall |

|
I am a Robotic/Dark MM and I use shadow fall for most of my defense. I recently picked up manuevers as another defense toggle. I did not see where they do NOT stack, but b/c shadow fall does not stack with some other powers like stealth for instance, I wanted to see if i need to respec out manuevers? Any tips or ideas are welcome.

Personally, I did not select the Manuevers because of shadowfall. I am not certain of how they stack or would not stack. It just didn't seem feasible to me to have both. I selected Assault and Tactics for my bots and the goal is to make them hit and hit hard and if there is a need for defense, they can be summoned into shadow fall range for the defense buff.

I took shadow fall, and if you want my advice, i regret it. I plan on respecing it out and getting the defense from leadership, because of a couple things. One: When shadow fall is on, the kidnap missions are worse than ever. Two: It doesnt even have that great a defense. Three: No offense to those Ive grouped with, but whenever I have it on, ppl think theyre actually invis. Thinking this, they will run up to a group and just stand there...I die, a lot. I know the third reason isnt very "reason"able if youre in a good group. but i thought id put it out there. well, thats my two inf...

Exorg, Devil Hawk, Battlegator.etc. etc. most of the other guys have very confuzing and hard to remember names. lol and Battlegator. that was great when you took all eight of us on and you still won LOL!!! And, finally, Air Shifter, sorry I bailed on Friday!!! I really am!

I have both Shadow Fall and Manuevers on my /dark MM, and I believe they stack...at least I hope they do...they're both endurance hogs, so I've slotted them accordingly, but I like them both. Since my henchies are zombies and always jump into melee, they need all the help they can get.
And as mentioned before, shadow fall prevents hostages from following you, so it's nice to still have the other defense running when you have to turn shadow fall off.

wait MM can have defense? lol
i use the control factor in arrow for my defense but i did contemplate the eladership defense. I'm probably heading the stealth route anyway, or haste for SS stealth. but i too get annoyed when teamed with someone using shadowfall and trying to kidnap folks... "Ace Boss Man, where did you go?"

Shadowfall and Maneuvers DO stack. You get the defense bonus from both. However, the defense bonus in Shadowfall is piddly. Kinda like the defense bonus hide gives to stalkers after they've been spotted.
The advantage to Shadowfall is it keeps you from being spotted. Maneuvers keeps you from getting hit. Both of them on? I do. Keeps me alive.
Kidnap missions? Yeah, the target can't see you. Turn Shadowfall off. Or don't do kidnap missions. I try to avoid them when I can. Teammates thinking they're invisible? Get better teammates.
Last point: I run with both SuperSpeed and Shadowfall. I've stood next to Longbow Wardens and watched them pick their noses. Giggled quietly and moved on. They've never been able to tell I was there.
Yeah, I know I said that was the last point. I lied. If you do something to attract attention to yourself while under Shadowfall, they spot you. I can be nearly invisible, but when that Tar Patch comes down, I hang a big red Target™ sign on my chest with "Squishy" in flashing letters. So be smart with Shadowfall.

lolrofl never happened to me but i took shadow fall and it helps with resisting fire to which my zombies r weak 2. I slot it with anytype of defence buffs i can find. True it eats endurance like crazy. in kidnap missions it depends if it is a newspaper mission after i resue the person i turn it off b/c the ambushes r like 2 people (when i team by myself) if it is a contact mission i let someone else get the person. This is a good power if u slot it but if u dont it is only good 4 eating endurance. Then again every power sux if it is not slotted correctly or not slotted at all. I suggest it if you team alot or have zombies as pets.

Shadowfall does give a decent defence bonus and its one of the few things to provide a defence to Psy damage, and that in its self is a reason to keep hold of Shadowfall in my opinion. fair enough on the kidnap missions though.... thats a pain in the ass

The stealth attribute of Shadow Fall doesn't stack with other stealth powers. However, I think it WILL stack with the stealth attribute of superspeed. I don't know if that was a dev oversight or not.
As for defense, the small defense attribute of shadowfall does stack with the defense attribute of Maneuvers. Take note though, both are very small bonuses and really won't make much difference. For leadership, I'm more impressed by the Assault and Tactics "chain".

In terms of defense, Shadowfall and Maneuvers both give about 2.5% defense (unenhanced) against ranged and meleee attacks. They do stack.
In terms of concealment, Shadowfall will not stack with the Concealment power pool, but will stack with SuperSpeed to give complete invisibility.
Edited to say: One of the nice bonuses of Shadowfall is that it offers you and your team a 20% resistence against energy, neg. energy, and psi damage, in addition to the defense.

Ok, I don'tknow whether they stack or not, but Igot these figures.
Shadow Fall: 2.8% defence to melee and range
20% resistance to energy, negative and psionics
So I wouldn't worry about the piddly defence buff, that resistance buff is great, not to mention it included psi as well.
Maneuvers: 3.25% defence to melee, range, smashing, lethal, fire, cold, energy, negative, toxic.
That might be all but psionics.
I'll be getting both on my Ninja/DM.
