Auction House in Game

Why doesn't GW have this? I've seen it in WoW and I really like it. Why hasn't Anet been smart enough to add one?

i ont think there is much point. if u ant to buy in-game, then u just buy. Thats y there r auction sites like this...

I dont kno there is quite a lot of stuff in WoW thats not in guild wars. But its mainly due to the fact that we dont pay a monthly subscription. But i agree with u it wud b good.

Yea but you can have it up 24/7 and you dont have to be online to sell things. I personally think that it is a great system that needs to be implemented into GW.

EDIT: Yea the fact that we dont pay monthly could have to do a lot with it.

Actually, the purpose of the auction houses is that of regulating and monitoring the economy, stabilizing item prices and removing the scam factor. If you choose to trade in the "black market", you do so at your own risk.

Sadly Anet have said that Auction Houses are not certain, but trade improvements are certain, how they will do this i am unsure, i play WoW as well as GW and the Auction House is so damn useful i would love Guild Wars to have a similar system.

I guess we just gotta wait and see what Factions brings =)

Oh and BTW i dont see what the lack of a monthly fee should have to do with not getting an auction house system.

yea..this would be really cool. This is also a way to lower gold inflation. So amy people have been selling rare matierals to the murchant rather then to playes this is lowering the price of these items makeing it not so rare. Have an auction house would be good if you had to pay gold to put items up.

Besides, neither have I (played WoW, that is)!
I have come acquainted with the concept of auction houses via FFXI Online.

I believe they're great, they give the casual player a chance to sell their items without having to worry about spammin LA dis 1, trying to compete with all the bots ^^

Also they would help others get a rough average of what things sell for by browsing around, it would also save others from spamming WTB, which is the only way you can get a decent weapon in game apart from random drops and collectors.

I would really like to see them introduced to GW, but as i said Gaile said the outlook was doubtful, lets just hope she was joking, or that they come up with something better (what that is i do not know)

Selling stuff in GW is like pulling teeth!
I hardly ever did any trading till recently when I found myself rather full of stuff that I just can't sell to the trader, so I've been trying to sell some stuff.. it's awful.

A system I came across in another game was amazing and I'd be delighted if GW implemented it. You basically set up your own little shop. You drag items for sale into a window, just like if you're putting something in storage, then you set your price, sit, and an icon appears over you showing you're open for business. You go off, do your shopping or whatever and come back to find you've sold stuff, or your prices were crazy and you didn't. Oh well, change a few things and go off to do something else..
