Can't stand the wait? Nor I!
I've been downloading most every demo I can get my hands on.
Some I recommend:
1) Doom 3 demo came out the other day. It's pretty good and will waste two or three days of casual play. Don't play in the dark or with a drink in your hand! Stuff pops out at ya!
2) Call of Duty: United Offensive is another newish demo. Good for a few hours of play. You get to play one complete level as the US and do a little of everything.
3) Rome: Total War is ok but not nearly as good as numbers 1 and 2. This is a battle sim where you control a large army on the battlefield. Running through the enemy with your elephants was the highlight for me.
3) Tribes: Vengeance is a return to the classic Tribes game. The demo isn't very long but you can do the level a few times before it gets boring.
4) Full Spectrum Warrior is a great demo! I'm still playing this one a week later. You control 2 squads of 4 men through hostile streets. This is the PC version of the Xbox game.
5) Deer Hunter 2005 was surprisingly a great game! I'm a city boy who has never gone hunting a day in his life yet I found this game addictive. You create your hunter, custom build weapons, use scents and other lure tactics, and hunt deer. Sounds simple but its quite hard at first. The AI for the deer is pretty good so the typical run and shoot method won't work. There is also an online feature where you hunt with others. Another game I'm still playing days later!
6) Shadow Ops: Red Mercury is ok if you're into the fast paced FPS games. Its got lots of action but I found it to be a little too fake for my taste.

From someone who hunts every single deer season....and is the first to admit that the REAL THING is boring as hell (in between kills)....a video game dedicated to it IS the HEIGHT of bordom...lol.

Us non-beta people have to do something :)
Even clicking on it to download I thought, "man.. this is gonna suck" I think thats why I was so blown away. Its pretty good.. to the point where I thought about buying it.
