Is Dark Miasma, the best choice for a MM, because at lvl 38, you can get a 7th pet? dark servant? and it can heal!?!

Well...It's possible, but it all depends on the way you like to play. If you enjoy jumping in and mixing it up with your pets, then it wouldn't hurt to take a different secondary. If you like to simply rely on your pets, then it's probably one of your best choices. Of course, it doesn't matter either way. Master Mind is an excellent AT. You can probably fly through the majority without an extra pet.

its all a matter of taste and play style. I originally didnt like arrows, but now the control factor is awesome when soloing. Dark is one of the more popular though from what ive seen.

Personally, I Went poison. I Couldn't tell you why honestly, I just sort of .. picked it. And I love it.
Alkaloid isn't that wonderful of a heal but it's single target, which means yes its slow to toss and kind of low even slotted (3 heal SO, 1 End SO, 1 Recharge SO, 1 Range SO), but I don't have to worry about mob placement around my teammates or pets.
The debuffs are very nice. Single target -def -regen, single target -acc -dam, single target hold, cone 40* (with range SO this is a big area) -speed -recharge.
I haven't gotten anything higher than paralytic yet, but the final 2 skills look pretty sweet. Noxious Gas is basically and AE hold as they have a high chance of puking their guts out and not fighting back : )
Plus, I love the lugi spitting >.>

DM is a good secondary...if you like the play style that comes with it...as for the healing portion, only people around you are getting healed (you'll have to jump in the frey to heal your melee teammates). Dark Servant sounded so sweet to me, until i actually got him and found out he doesn't stay out permenantly. He has no controls like your other pets, so he attacks and pretty much does what he wants to do (just like the other pets at times...lol). If you need help on the boss/elite boss/AV/Hero, he may be fighting the minion.
Don't get me wrong...any additional help is always welcome, but you have no control over DS what so ever.

Ahh, you're talkin' me bread and butter, now. From a personal playstyle standpoint I love DM. In fact, in a post earlier in the game on this very site it was stated by no less than our esteemed (couldnt think of a villainous word there) Site Boss, RonJ73, that DM is too good because he would want to take all of the set's powers. This is true. My favorite of the set is not Dark Servant, though you would think so. It is nice to have the extra set of hands. Since DS can do all of the DM powers (except DS of course). My favorite is Twilight Grasp. A decent To Hit ratio, which can get better with slotting, and GREAT heals. I've got darn near Defender heals going when I mish. It has just about the range of Healing Aura (ala Defender), and it can be increased with slotting I believe. I prefer maxing my healing power; and brother I need it. As I also showed in a previous screenshot; I like to faceplant a lot. I jump in like a TanksterMind drawing aggro off my teammates and throwing DM powers right and left. All the while healing with TG as soon as it comes up. In fact with Robotics/Dark Miasma set the way I like it I pretty much use a battle chain of powers that goes Target Bots-Attack Bots-Fire Rifle-Heal. When slotted properly this can be done around the clock. The main reason I faceplant is not the powerset's fault, it is mine. I like to get my hands dirty. AND with this Dark Servant is perfect. Dark Servant generally stays closer to you than the bots (he is a servant ya know), and he even moreso than the bots protects me with his life. I didnt take any of the DM holds and such, but Dark Servant has them for me. There is nothing like stopping the CoT rituals on Thorn and having DS slap those huge tantacular holds on a freshly spawned Baphomet. HA! I think I still have a screenie somewhere on my PC showing Baphomet Held by DS, beautiful.
The only other MM powerset that I think can truly hold a candle to DM is Force Field, and this mainly in PvP. Sadly, my SVG co-leader is a bots/poison MM and she is killer envious of Dark Miasma because of the great heals. I've got to give Poison its props though in the Rez department. With Howling Twilight I need an enemy in range to rez (although I can rez a whole team at once), while the Poison rez can be targeted at any time and anywhere.
BTW when properly slotted with Recharge SO's, I can keep Dark Servant up perma, or down for only a few seconds. The only major hang time is getting hit with an Ice power (which naturally slows your recharge rate). Also you must use DS wisely because he is always trying to protect you, and drawing aggro. If you are using a stealth power and trying to tiptoe around a group of enemies, I would suggest sending DS away or he will throw out a hold and bring the group down on you. Of course, he is Holding them, but sometimes it is just not expedient for him to do so. This is what being a MasterMind is all about though; Control. Up close or at range, Dark Miasma is a great powerset, and I encourage it wholeheartedly.
Then again, it's only my opinion. D'ya think I'm a tad opinionated? LOL

i agree 100% if i have a chance 2 get DM then i do b/c it is one of the best MM secondaries and a very good defender primary. I havent seen hardley any corrs w/ DM if then can get that power. My favorite with the whole set is fearsome gaze combined w/ Dark Servant. This is very helpful with teams b/c i can play the dominator and MM at the same time. I always get a question from at least one person asking me "How can u hold so many?" Me semi-holding them w/ fear and DS uses tenticles. I have noticed though that it seems that DS has a larger cone range than the Lich's tenticles. My lich usually holds only a couple like 2-3. But my servant can hold an entire group. I perfer 2 summon him right in the middle of a group so that his AoE thingy can cause some little dmg and lower acc.
(all of the above except lich is from defender experience)
A couple questions if DS is from a MM does it get the Supremecy. And is Black hole worth getting never got it has a defender.

First off I have been using DM since beta and love it, I did not copy anyone or use a template but chose it merley on its merits, it seemed(s) then and now like a logical power for the MM set, since henchmen are basically your main power and defense it is logical to choose the best power to keep them alive and DM does that job well.

I have been able to buff and heal my DS using Leadership Powers and Twilight Grasp, I have also used the Equip and Upgrade option designed for Bots, I do not know if it does anything to improve my DS but my DS does accept it all.
I am pretty certain that "YES" is the answer to the first part since DS seems to accept every Buff, DeBuff and power you decide to use on it, but not 100% sure since I have only used the powers I have upon my DS.
As to Black Hole, I chose it and tried it out, I was not impressed and did a respec to remove it, but that's just me and perhaps others have had a better experience.

Yes, the res for poison is beautiful. I know, in a good team people won't die, but it happens sometimes. I duo mainly with a Assault Rifle/Kinetics Corruptor (what a wonderful duo we make too!) and sometimes he gets a tad too much aggro even with both our heals going. It's also nice for fighting AV's with the two of us and two SG mates lackied. The fact we can handle any purple AVs is pretty astounding. That res is also nice because of the 90 second super buff to damage resistance, damage, acc, and protection from debt.

/DM is good just its kinda overused
I perfer /Force Fields you get good defense buffs Mez protection and a toggle untouchable(almost) and I Made Snaptooth hug an effing wall with Force Bubble. it also synergyses well with anything with Resiestance since you can not only make them absorb the damage they can dodge it too.
I only do not use 3 powers fomr Force Fields on my 40 why?
Detention Field:hmmmmmm Intagibility=nigh useless. yeah yeah if I want to hold a boss or soemthing but I have to wait 30 seconds for me to be able to attack again
Toggle Repel powers:I already got force bubble why do i need more knock back?

i only dislike DM for one reason:

To be honest, I think the usefulness of DM, particularly its heal, depends upon the primary set you are using. With pets that cluster at the same distance it's great! Mercs particularly tend to cluster together at a distance and just fire away, letting you easily position yourself in the middle of them to give them the benefit of your heals, buffs and the wisdom of your built in leadership. Bots mostly stay at range, but occasionally run in to melee for some reason (I guess to work out some irrational aggression). Most zombies tend to run into melee and will cluster nicely; so long as you don't mind being in there with them they can gain the full benefit of your abilities. Occasionally, you will get some staying and puking at them from range instead of getting in there with their superior melee skills. Ninjas, on the other hand, are infuriating, with one invariably running in while the rest stay back and use their (inferior) ranged attacks, thus causing you to have to split your priorities as your up-front starts getting mauled, while the rear troops get plinked away from a distance.
Force-field is, in my opinion, the ultimate secondary, even though it doesn't have a heal. Granted, it works better for bots (who add their own shields starting at level 12) and ninjas (whose natural protections are defenses instead of damage resistance anyway), but it can work well for any type of minion.
=^..^= . o O (Nothing to see. Just a cat.)

It lasts for about a good while. The recharge rate on it is pretty fast(then again i have hasten) Unlike your other pets it sits back behind u and attacks there is is no reason for it 2 die unless it runs of chasing something.
