Rule #1, never believe anything a bot says.
She says she is a bot, and therefore cannot be trusted. If you cannot trust a bot, then you cannot expect to believe what one says as true. If what she said is not true, then she is obviously not a bot. However, since she is not a bot, we can believe her when she says something. Since we can believe her, and she says she is a bot, then obviously, she is a bot. Bots cannot be trusted. Since she says she is a bot...
My powers of deductive reasoning astound even me sometimes...

I dont think she's a bot. i think she's an avatar created by ANet to speak to players kind of like the frog..whether there really is a gaile gray at ANet...the world may never know. Plus that would explain alot, The definition of her name (Something about father's favorite daughter) so she could be the creation of ANet, her age being 108 which could be the combined ages of the ANet staff that use the Gaile avatar.

A bot is code that emulates action... that's the best way to describe it.
Gaile grey has preloaded responses to the questions they want people to know the answers to and or all of thequestions they can think of.
Usually they are triggered by a few key words like "Update" "New Update", "Would you like some pie?" (lol)
There was a bot like that for msn who had preloaded responses like that, it was fun to try and break it and ask it questions it couldn't answer.
Basically a poor attempt at A.I.
Kind of like a Robot... which is not to be confused with an android or cyborg which are COMPLETELY different things.

I think she was being sarcastic people, its really hard over the internet to do it. Notice to complete caps in the word NO when she says NO doubt about it. Diffently sounds sarcastic to me.

I think she might be more than 1 person besides the original Gaile Gray..if such a person exists. It's possible that she IS just an avatar for ANet like the frog.

Nerf means to take your nerf dart gun and shoot it at a part of a game untill it is ruined and makes a lot of people mad. Atleast thats what i think it is :)

Actually yes i thought a few people might of thought she really was a bot. So i thought i would clear it up for anyone that have not been to LA any of the times she was on or seen any of her conversations. Remember we have some seriously stupid players in the game and even more newbs, so its normally best not to confuse them :D
Im going to have to agree with Neil that its probley a joint account for all the Reps at ANet and not just one person in particular.

she might have some bot backing up sometimes , but she types for sure .. like when everyone starts saying " CONGA LINE " and when there are moments of silent .. a bot is easy to trace ... she is not a bot.
anyway , all bots have a human behind
the line is geting shorter and shorter , i have made irc bots just for casual chat , and believe me lots of people didnt get it , it was a bot .. some said stuff like , " are you drunk "
expecialy slow typers and people that dont repeat, didnt find a clue to prove it was a bot.
bots are fun , i have talked to a few , experimental A.I. , can find some on the net .. the only time i really felt it was a bot , it was when he starts reapeating .. most of the times it worked. even when he changes topic.
bot or not

Gaile Grey is not a bot, nor is she a collaboration. In the GWWC articles she mentioned that she was on a team of 4 ANet members that played an exhibition match with some players from Taiwan. There is a picture posted with the subtitle "the challenged" or something like that.
