I think the most impossible badge was Paradigm. You had to be a mentor for 3888 hours. Who can play that long? But apparently it changed some time ago, since it mysteriously popped up one day.
Zookeeper is fun too. 2,500 rikti monkeys. It used to be 10,000.

For me, the Illusionist badge has been the hardest "Defeat X# Villains" badge. Most missions I do are either solo or small team of other Defenders and/or Controllers, so they usually don't pop up in Illusionist missions. And I tire easily of street hunting, so not alot of success there either. Haven't been able to get Adamastor or Sally either, never there at the right times, I guess.

For me it was the illusionist badge, that has given me the most trouble. I would join in on every sg carnie mis that my friends ran and then some. Adamaster wasnt too bad. For a few days there was a glitch in astoria on the triumph server where the fog was gone making astoria look more like steel canyon to us than the place usually looked. Me and my sg found him in broad daylight and obliterated him. I havent tried for the errant knight badge yet. I have been trying for the heart of the hamidon badge by sky diving right into the thing but no success, so it rates up there on my list of toughies.

Well the Master Illusionist badge was pretty damn tough for me as a Invul Tank, I'd get smacked around by MI's that were 2 level's below me. But it seems that the new Damage badges are gonna take a bit as well along with the Influence badge... 1 Billion Influence for the 5th badge? Pfft!

The Atlas Medallions pretty tough to get especially if you can't get the spelunker badge mission. It's like gold dust when you get it and people find out, suddenly you're inundated with tells asking/begging to join.

Archmage is the toughest of them all, and therefore the greatest. You have to get 4 different hunt badges, including Illusionist. You also need 4 exploration badges, and one of those seems to be hard to find. I've never had trouble finding Faultless Mystic, but it seems I'm always showing people where it is.
The next hardest has to be Unleasher. To get it, you have to defeat the Kraken, who spawns rarely and sporadically. There are also more spawn points than for any other giant monster. Knight Errant you can just camp, which I do all the time. I've never even heard of anyone successfully camping the Kraken.

I've never had any trouble taking down the Kraken in IP. In fact, I've taken it down over 5 times already (its good XP). I've seen Paladin once, but he was already made when I defeated him, so I didn't get the badge (no help fast enough). Haven't tried for Sally's badge yet (already past the Croatoa level range for it to be fun). I'm still trying to hit 40 with my main, so I haven't gotten to the Illusionist badges and whatnot, but I've heard they're pretty darn tough. The "earn x amount of influence" or "mentor for x hours" are tough too, just because of the length of time involved. And its really hard to not spend your influence on enhancements...

Vince, the Monster you are refering to in IP is Lusca, not the Kraken, although it's easy to get confused due to the name.
The "Kraken" refered to spawns in the lake in Perez Park and is a larger specimen of the "Spawn" of the Hydra that are abundently scattered about the lake. You also find them in the Abandoned Sewer mission where you have to take down 5 of them before you take on the Hydra.
The Perez Park Kraken has been the hardest badge for me to get, I have never been able to catch a spawn in over a year of trying. I now keep my badge collector, ( a lvl 50 Fireblaster), parked atop the big lock gate along the warwall at the lake. I check sporadically to see if he has spawned & someday........
That is how I finally got the Knight Errant badge, only I flew by & checked all 3 spawnsites whenever I passed thru Kings Row. I tried camping but wasted a lot of hours watching the spawnsites. I just missed several times but I knew that evenyually I would catch him & one morning I started my inspection and there he was over at the hospital site. I will be dropping in on Perez Park as soon as I finish this post.......

Oh whoops. Yeah, I got the Hydra-monster Kraken in PP too. I've seen him maybe 2 or 3 times. All this homework is rotting my brain...
Actually I was lucky enough to get the Kraken before I even hit level 10. I joined a group really early in the game and got to take him down pretty easily. Lucky me, I guess. But that was almost 2 years ago now...sheesh...

The Kraken is a toughy, I got the badge on my very first toon, when he was around lvl 12, and I haven't seen the Kracken in over a year and a half since then, despite bringing almost 40 toons up to lvl 15.

for the first time in 11 months of playing I managed to pick up Knight errant on of all toons - my tank - Little Rock!
I stumbled on him with a team mate, threw out a call over the new defiant 'need team' channel and boom - 25 heroes arrived to deal with the spawns and after a good ten minutes, hey presto - badge!
It was sunny just how many people turned up to help, desperate for the badge and at the end of it I got a lot of thank you messages for broadcasting it was there.
Nabbed a screenie or two as well....

The most time-consuming is definitely the Illusionist Decoy badge, but you can camp in Curry Cove in Peregrine Island and farm a Master Illusionist or two once you spot one.
Knight Errant, for stopping construction of he Clockwork Paladin, has to be the worst...I've camped in Kings Row for hours hoping to spot it. The one time I *DID* spot the constrcution the servers went down. :(
I'm also trying to get all the held badges, but the Malta Sappers in PI are not strong enough to mez me... :/

For me it is with out a doubt the Kraken. I have yet to see him in over a year. Dont ask me why but the Dr. Ally badge ever since COV came out I have a hell of a time getting into a team that had it . They need to put in a flash back mode so you can work for contacts that you haven't completed.

Ugh! The War Wall Defender badge.
The devices can take damage from us and the Rikti, so no AOE's. Even most controllers AOE Holds have a little damage tick in them. As soon as you attack the mob, they go for the devices. Taunting doesn't seem to work at all. It's not so much that it's hard to get the mish, but the fact that it's a bit unique in how you have to go about completing it makes most people fail it. At least the owner of the mish still gets the badge.
As far as the kill ## badges. I agree with the majority. Master Illusionist.
Archmage is a pain, but I think War Wall and know for sure that the Master Illusionist badge is part of it.
For the War Wall any more, we just call in the level 50 Trollers to contain the mobs and take Blasters that know not to AoE. The Storm set works pretty good on that one because you can Gail the enemies away from the devices.
