Hi all. Im new to guild wars and would like to know where i can research info on purple items. i picked one up during the weekend and want to know what my options are. I dont want to sell cuz i might get ripped off. I might have something very valuable or i might just have a nb purple. I dont remember off the top of my head what the item was other than it was a shield. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hey and welcome! First of all, supplying the stats of the shield would be helpful so we can help give you a range in price. MOST of the time purple items aren't as good as other weapons (Gold, Green) but still can be good. If you let us know the type of shield and what its stats and requirements are, we can help you out a little more!

another thing, purple items tend to be poo!
so yah. whats the specs(the hardest part would be selling it cause no one wants purple)

Hi bahphomett and welcome to the forums, I think you will find us a generally helpful community.
To answer your question, it would be nice if you could post the statistics of this item e.g.
Name: Fiery Fellblade of Fortitude
Damage:15-22
Requirement: 9
Damage mod: +15% damage while health is above 50
Extra mods: Health +30, Sundering 10/10
Thats just an example of what to describe, you could also post a picture of the items description to save the hassle of typing it out.
Also as has been stated, Purple items generally arent that great and can be quite worthless, but the odd one does contain an ok mod, and if its a rare skinned item it can still be sold for a couple of k.
Warrior/Monk - Finished Chapter 1
Elemtalist/Monk - Finished Chapter 1
Monk/Mesmer - Finished Chapter 1
Ranger/Monk - Finished Chapter 1

Thanks for the quick reply. I will post stats when i get home. Im a lvl 4 me/mo so probably wont use it to begin with. thanks again.

Your probally better off just selling it to a vendor, ie. a merchant. Because most people probally wouldn't be interested in a purple item.
