Wow man, its not Anet's fault that someone or some people accidentally made a mistake that led to a little loss of game time.

You are a Monk: You are an essential piece of any team, keeping the party alive and well-protected. You are always the first target for enemies, so be careful!

I don't understand why people keep defending ANet. They made a mistake. I don't see why we have 20 threads about the exact same thing. I don't see why this is a big deal. Maybe I'm jsut blind =P. But it is just a game, life will go on.
End of story.

RE: Just one thing about the roll back to say

Incidentally, I'd say they did a pretty good job with this. Look at the points the website you linked to makes:

Take responsibility: ANet IMMEDIATELY on realizing the problem too steps to correct it in the best fashion possible that would be the least harmful to everyone involved.

Explain: They also explained what the problem was in a public place (namely the login screen of EVERY GW PLAYER on the planet).

Show your regret: Well, this one is a bit harder for a multinational corporation to do, but it's pretty obvious that they realized that they made a mistake.

Repair the damage: Again, they IMMEDIATELY took steps to repair the damage done in the best fashion possible.

Use good timing: They started repair efforts quickly and efficiently. I'd say that's pretty good timing.

It's not about who "won" or "lost:" In this case, everyone won. If you're one of those who's complaining that you don't have those 59861 superior runes you bought during the glitched time, think about how much those runes would actually be worth if you actually HAD gotten them... Along with the other half-million people who had 415418 of the exact same rune each. The value would drop like a rock; you'd be better off with a single starter weapon as your "stock" than all those runes and materials combined.

Think about what you're saying before you say it, PLEASE. ArenaNet handled this better than I would have thought they would, and they've done it in a way that will eliminate long-term consequences, which all the players' "solutions" wouldn't have. Most of them would have caused mroe problems then they fixed.

well they explained what happened and they tried to fix the problem i think thats two things on the list. im guessing that they are pretty busy trying to provide a free service to people who dont often say thankyou. empathy is a big part of an appology and sometimes knowing when to say sorry is best done when you know why your saying sorry perhaps once they have fixed the problem would be the best time as they can better explain the situation. cred to you for speaking your mind and making me giggle.

RE: Just one thing about the roll back to say

and ive got one word for you .... it starts with a B, and ends with an t, and there a reference to animal excrement in between. thats right, B-freaking-S to you pal

they handled it right and the ones that need to apologize are those that made this the assinine affair it became and screwed people out of things they earned. that right, YOU should apologize, not ANet.

im sorry you dont get to keep that million you found in the street ... but you dint gain or lose anything in this... those that worked thier tails off to accomplish a goal or something, you owe them for creating the stir that caused the reset

if it had been just a couple people that dicretely got a few things, im sure ANet would have let it go to not hurt the others, but filling entire inventories and then being idiot enough to broadcast it across the web makes you the idiot that needs to apologize, period

RE: Just one thing about the roll back to say

And where's the most important part than?
I didn,t find any apologies for the uncomfort it created for most ppl especially the ones that got lucky after 1:00 pm or 21:00 GMT and found a few shards or ecto's or other high value items!

Its not that hard to put in a few lines with the words we apologize in it at login screen.

RE: Just one thing about the roll back to say

They could read that or they could go and fix the problem... which would you prefer... them taking the time to come up to each player and apologizing while you look at "code=072". Or would you rather have them simply go and fix it and THEN take the time to say sorry to the communtiy later?

Areananet may have made the mistake, but things happened. Look at everything they do to make this game run. It can't be perfect all the time and it's players need to understand that. They have done very well so far about handling things with this situation and many others in the past. They are a good company and know what they're doing. Give them time to fix the mistake and everything will be bright and dandy in the world of Tyria again.

Again, I am posting because of the whiners, this is ONLY to the whiners...

If you are whining try to have a brain and learn programming. Oh wait you are too busy whining to make use of your time and your brain. Programming is a pains taking process. People are human, THEY MAKE MISTAKES. Stop your whining and go have a life for a couple hours.

I mean for goodness sakes, YOU ACCESS THEIR SERVERS FOR FREE. Go spend time with your girlfriend if you have one. But please, no more whining.

Ok let me set you straight on that one there matey, No one screwed up, Errors or server crashes, Bugs or glitches are things that can occur on any machine at anytime so you see no one decided to screw up and Anet is fixing the problem as they see fit to and as quickly as possible so stop moaning about it, it is after all JUST A F***ING GAME...

Did anybody read the license agreement. Basically estates you could fall of a shiverpeak mountain or get your n*ts shopped off by mountain trolls or get drunk of dwarven ale and end up b*ttrap*ed by imps in lonar's pass,,, Anet is not liable for any of those incidents including server downtimes.... :)
