This are my characters build.
Warrior/Monk (Level 20)
Monk/Warrior (Level 20)
Ranger/Necro (Level 20)
Elementalist/Mesmer (Level 20)
I was at Del war camp looking for group to take me on oro farming but no one like to take my poor old e/me, why is that? I farm the scrab queen 6 times and got k. refuge 3x out of 6 trips. I gave one for free to one of the member with the farming group. I just want to try oro farming for a change, and also I really want that rago's flame of staff :(
Can anyone take me farming on sorrow's furnance for them green's I don't know where it is :(

beacuse oro farming consist of
2 monks ( one bond monk and 1 heal monk)
1 stance tank
2 necros ( one an echo SS and the other a MM with lvl 18 or higher minions)
notice no ele's where mentioned in there
sry.. try making than warrior a stance tanks. then mabe you can farm

I sugest you farm with a diffrent charecter other then your ele because there is no need for a nuke in there. Go with your W/Mo and you will get groups often.

You can find Sorrow's furnace marked north of Deldrimor Warcamp on this map
I dont see why you cant fetch a group to go farming, especially with your elementalist, you just have to keep at it and watch out for people asking for group members.
Also, ask your guild members if they want to go farming, its far easier to assemble a group that way and they are people you know and trust (assuming you are in a guild).
I have a flannel to wash my face
if it gets mucky i feel disgraced.

Well thinking about it I bet you could make an ele tank just as well as a warrior with kinetic and stone armor. Not only that but mass dmg skills that are AoE and that would kick some dwarf butt.

The reason that you are having trouble finding a group is because the farming groups are usually set in stone and few people are willing to make exceptions. Therefore, since you can't change the oppinions of the masses you have 2 choices. Either create a new character that fits the oro farming routine or change the oppinion of a smaller group such as friends or guildies and go with them.

an ellie can actually make a better stance tank/gear holder than a w/mo, however, convincing a group as such may take some time... there are a few guides on here i think regarding an ellie stance tank.

an ellie can actually make a better stance tank/gear holder than a w/mo, however, convincing a group as such may take some time... there are a few guides on here i think regarding an ellie stance tank. |
thinking about it.. i a MM with 2nd rate armore.. made actually a desent job holding that gear and taking all the damage.. our tank left in a game and i the MM was told to hold the gear and i did, and i didnt die. and i know an ele has awsome earth skills that increases def and other skills that do awsome stuff.. i am sure he could be one.. he just needs the right skilkls and a group thats willing to do all this.

All 5 man farmin groups use to include an ele but after the nerf (the one where the enemy AI scatters after taking repeating elemental damage) they swiftly became less popular. However I found that avoiding Damage over time spells I was able to take my echo nuker and still be able to put out more damage tahn a SS necro to a wider selection of enemy. PM me in game or on gameamp and I will talk about my build and I am more than happy to incluse you in my guild groups when we go if you want. And besides Deamonic Dreams is always recruiting.

over the last couple weeks ive seen alot of these cookie cutter builds..and people saying this is how this mission or that run should be.
to this i say hogwash!
this outside the box people... theres far more than one way to skin that cat and the creative ones usually have the best effects from what ive seen
granted, different mission or quests have perhaps more call for one build or class than another, but i think too many people are just reading one thread or another and assuming they know what they need or what works best.
the lack a creative thinking is sad to me ... it seems anymore most missions are calling for nothing more than 2 Wammos, 2 monks, and a bunch of SS Necros. or if they do want a ranger its only purpose it to trap and make life easy for the Wammo.
what are you guys gonna do when that gets nerfed ? you know its coming. everytime weve seen a class/build that gets overused to the extent this is, it gets nerfed. nukers were hit with AoE... IWay was corrected ... SS has gotta be next.
bottom line, dont fall into this trap and get in the "this is how its done" way of thinking ... to me, the best groups are those that have a varied skill set, not a cookie cutter stock build.

I agree totally I tried a new 3 man build 2 farm khepets refuge I was a stance tan who gathered the minions together and used glads def just like i use on trolls there was a monk who healed me from my conditions (i used troll farming build so i can keep myself alive) then we bring along a mesmer 2 interrupt the queen (and some monsters who like enchant strippers) and we got 18 khepets refuges between the 3 of us 5, for me 7 for my monk friend and 6 for my mesmer buddy
