| PK Expansion: Good or Bad? |

My obvious first impression upon seeing the news was... holy shit, they put our precious SDK in a goddamn expansion! What the hell!?
However, after considering more, I recalled a few games which never quite reached flawlessness... and then their holes were filled by an expansion.
The most shining example was Starcraft--- a game filled with blatant imbalance for several years until the Brood Wars expansion filled in its holes and made it far more enjoyable to compete in.
So, perhaps the expansion will give the developers a chance to fill in the holes in their game. Its obvious that they DO try to listen to the community--- I'm sure they are well informed on what needs to be done. The only question is will they carry out all of it- and if they don't, will they take the important parts?
So, what do the rest of you think about the expansion? A light in the sky, or an 8 year old in a tree with a flashlight?

I welcome the expansion, but I think not releasing the map editor till the expansion is somewhat of a slap in the face for the multiplayer community. It's pretty obvious that the stock MP maps were made by single player level designers that weren't very keyed into some fundamental MP map rules, and to really have PK evolve in MP you'll simply need better maps. I personally couldn't wait THAT logn for new maps, its a bit extreme.

Perhaps when PK is near forgotten to most, the expansion will hit and we will not only see a fixed and improved game, but perhaps an influx of new players?
Or perhaps I am just dreaming.
