Well met,
I dont know if this topic has been raised before, since I search all I could think of that might link to it but nothing game up.
Okay here goes, If you are just a PvP player, the game has a lot to keep you happy. You get a nice selection of weapons and with your Balth points you can unlock al lthe skills and weapon mods you could want.
However, I have been wondering for sometime now, why a rune trader was placed in the outposts on the Battle Isle when there is no way to earn the gold required to buy them.
Luckily I play as much PvE as PvP so it is not a problem for myself but for pure PvPers it puts them at a bit of a handycap. Okay, so perhaps if you were good (or lucky) enough to win in the Hall of Heros you could sell the Sigil (if you get one) but for some of the runes (superior absorb) you'll need like a gazillion Sigils.
What do you folks think of having a reward included for winning battles? (beside Balths points) you could win like 100 gold a battle, each win in a row could add a multiplier to the amount. Perhaps by winning so many in a row you could get an item for free or something. I would certainly like to see a new weapon trader who you can spend you Balths points at to unlock perhaps like the nice collector weapons. I dont think any of these additions would unbalance the game, if anything I feel it would make a lot of people happy, PvEers have another option for getting the staff or sword they want but dont have the time to farm or the money to by the items from other players but have 5000+ Balths points sat there they don't use. PvPers can now be kitted out as equals.
So come on people, let me know what you think.

Don't you have access to storage? Or are you saying you have absolutely no PvE chars?

The rune traders are there for the people that are Pve and might need to buy a rune to make a build etc. as you said your self, PVP players are catered too by the Balthazar unlock system.

i like that idea alot, it is jsut another thing that te PvP aspect of the game is lacking, if ANET put SOMETHING like this in there i bet alot more people woldnt be farming so then they wouldnt have to take their time vaporizing about 60 griffons and random enemies to stop farming, +credit to you for bringing up this point

100 gold per win... well you would get 1000s and 1000s of bots just standing their entering mission, faction bots would become gold bots. Bye Bye economy.

I dont like the idea at all. PvP should be something that has rewards seperate from PvE that way if someone chooses to be all PvE then they sacrifice the ability to unlock runes. If they become purely PvP then they sacrifice gold. It's all part of the balance that exists between PvE and PvP.

I'm with Nihil. If you don't PvE then you shouldn't have access to the advantages of PvE. Those who do put in the extra mile having access to other options makes sense.

What am I missing here? PvP players unlock runes (and items) by getting faction, so why do they need gold? On the other hand, PvE players can't access runes through the Priest and must buy them with gold.
Seems pretty straightforward, PvP players gain faction and access items through the Priest while PvE players buy or get items that are dropped. This is the way the game is set up and it doesn't make any sense to change it.
If PvP players got gold, what would the PvE player get? Seems only fair they would have access to anything unlocked by visiting the Priest. This would certainly muddy the waters. It's a good system as it is and doesn't need to be altered.
