yeah this crazy guy when i was in a r3 group was all like "when factions comes out their gunna reset everyones ranks" and people started bursting out laughing and i told two other groups and they all laughed at it, he's only guy ive heard that said something like that, so was this guy on somethin or could it happen? My thought is if they did you would tick off every r3+ people and probably a ton of them would quit playing, because hoh is all they do, and if they reset it they would tick off a very large part of the guild wars players.

I dont think they will reset ranks. They didnt nerf IWAY as promised because the build had gotten too popular so it's unlikely that they will reset ranks entirely. What they will probably do is make some kind of emote for people who dont do HoH or IWAY which will anger the r3+ people anyway but they wont erase the r3+ people's work.

They wouldn't reset the ranks. That would be like resetting your character for a lot of people.
I never heard of any promises to nerf Iway. But they did nerf it and went ahead and nerfed OoV which was also critical to the Iway build. I have no problems beating most Iway builds. I do have trouble beating some teams with monks. Maybe they should nerf monks so they don't heal as much.

oh that would be so harsh ive been working to rank 3 for a month now hopefully gonna get it soon :D (i got 112 fame)
if they reset it it would completeley destroy the game econnimy

IWAY= The Warrior Skill 'I Will avenge You' although when a player says IWAY they usually mean a build based around this skill, it basically involves a Warrior/Ranger with a weak pet, getting it to die as fast as possible and then using IWAY in combination with other skills that give attack speed boosts. This build is widely regarded as 'noobish' and 'unskillful', I would agree with them.
R3=Rank 3. Ranks can be aquired by attaining 'Fame', to do this you must win battles in Hero's Ascent in the battle isles.

They are the PvPer's way to show devotion to PvP other than guild rank..of course rank has been unfortunatly associated with IWAY just as farming and gold have been associated with PvE..
Of course farming, gold, and rank are not to be confused with skill either..

Don't believe everything you hear in HA, there are a bunch of newbie kids who like to be retarded and say crap like that. They won't ever reset personal ranks, the community would not allow for it.
and FYI.
IWAY= idiot newbs who swing axes in a 4W/R, R/ME/R/Mo, N/E, N/O build because they aren't good/smart enough to play balanced

I'll have to disagree with that. I've played with plenty of experienced players who choose IWAY because they like the idea, NOT because they cannot run a balanced build.

That may be fine, and I have disassociated myself with IWAY people, even one's I use to be friends just to prove a point so they will stop and realize what they are doing is worthless.
How many IWAY's do you see holding halls? None.
Max I've seen an IWAY hold, at least just previously and after the iway nerf, is one time. You see great balanced(pressure spike, Mix spike, hex pressure, etc) hold halls for hours upon hours. One example, Sir Coversman [xG], euro guild who holds halls almost daily with their mix spike for at least 3+ hours(30+ holds).
When my guild, and many other very good and experienced guilds and teams make it to HoH and find an IWAY holding halls, we jump with joy because it's like taking candy away from a mongaloid baby.
IWAY is worthless, and doesn't teach you much about the game at all.

maybe resetting ranks would help... not sure about others but I know personally I have around 250,000 Balth faction from so much PvPing, yet I've been sitting around rank 2 for months, its almost impossible to get a good group and when I do im usually stuck with some iway crap. Try to run a balanced and after you loose a match (To be expected as you're learning a new team) people leave starting the whole process over again. Maybe if there was a rank reset or ranks hidden while in HoH it would give other experienced PvPers a chance at getting into a decent group? Tired of seeing Europe own my FoW everychance I get to play and seeing 20 people spamming R3+ IWay forming in the american dist of HoH :(

Yes i agree I've been trying to get a group for HoH for some time but no one wants a no-ranker. I also PvP alot in random and team arenas and do quite well. I just wish A-net would do something to improve the situation. Untill then i guess ill just sit on my 2 fame and PvE.

i dont have a big problem with killing iway most of them time, my problem is finding a non iway group when im not with my guild/friends. Also Iway Corrupted the rank system now a bunch of newbs can make or join a r3+ group of nething and loose badly, or eberything become r3+ and it makes non ranked non iwayers have a hard time finding a group. Not that there is a problem with bein a newb we all were at some point but you shouldnt pretend you know what your doing.
another problem with iway is i gives america a bad name. Ive talked to some people on euro server durin christmas patch and they all bashed me for bein an american with us iwaying and Bush. Weve got enough critisism we should at least get iway off that list.

i only have 35 fame but i got all of it by being an IWAY warrior, i cant get into any good teams either beacause you have to be rank 3 to get rank :P

One word, MATH
IWAY is a very effective build when played properly, I have admiration for those who run it well. It has a bad reputation because it can be used as an easy way to win for less experienced players.
