I Dont know what warriors are supposed to be tanks, damage dealers, killers?What you guys say?(I'm a ranger meleer whould like to know if thats a good pick also)...are we suppose to take alot of damage and live alone with no monk?

in general PvE, not soloing... a good combination is what i like to play, good shield, good mix of damage and either self healing and/or defense (dolyak signet {which sucks if your target moves}, watch yourself, bonetti's defense, gladiators defense, healing breeze, healing signet...) your main job, is take damage, and block the baddies so they dont penetrate to your casters. doing damage helps, but it's not the main goal. your monk will 'help' you stay alive, it's in their best interest as well... but a 'soft' warrior, with 2 superior runes, cwearing all plate because it's 'l33t', doesnt go over well :P

Unless those two sup runes are vigor and absorbtion. Then it's a good thing, except for the plate armor thing.
Oh, and no, as a ranger your job is to stand back and deal damage either through your pet, your bow, or your traps. At least, this is what most groups look for in a ranger.

Rangers also make good distractions cause of stances whriling defense, shield stance troll unguent... Please dont start makeing fun of R/W...

Yeah for your build I would probably just try to deal some damage because you probably wont have the necessary skills to keep you alive (ex doylak sig,defy pain). You can possibly use Throw Dirt on some of your enemies that are tanks instead of using strength skills. But usually strength is necessary for survival.

Indeed, Europe does appear to have Favor most of the time. That is one of the reasons why my Ranger is still level 16.

Just wanted to point this out so you dont get confused.
Shield stance is actually a WARRIOR skill not a ranger skill. The only reason your ranger has it is because your secondary profession is a Warrior. If you were to change to an alternate profession then you would lose this skill. I know its a small thing but it bugged me and i just wanted to point it out so you dont get confused. =P

Not to hate on R/W, but when I meet one in RA, he's my first target. I bring Wild Blow with me to get rid of the stances, cause without them the Ranger will die quickly. But there have also been GOOD R/W who have been able to survive and even kill my W/R. Hammer seems to be the way to go with R/W. The knockdowns are annoying.
But as for the role of a Warrior, it depends. If you are the only warrior, it'd be in your and your team's best interest to lean towards survival. But if there are 2 or more, then decide which of you is survival and which is damage. Warriors can put out alot of damage, but it's sometimes difficult to do so.
If you want to deal damage, but abhor tanking, don't chose warrior please. Do another class. It's annoying when we do THK, and the only warrior is a stanceless hammer warrior. Don't get me wrong, i love hammers. But you have to learn to take one for the team. It isn't always about you.

hmm not to bash r/w but here are 2 little situations that occured
1st i was in the droks arena and there was only my earth ele and a r/w. He had an axe and was ready to use it. This situation comes up often so I told him to stop and give up. He asked "why you scared?" I replyed no beacause I can do This arcane echo obsidian flame arcane obsidian flame obsidian flame arcane obsidian flame -500 hp. Then he said "oh ok seems like a good reason". Now this may sound like ranger hating but it is not hating only warning.
So for all you P.O.ed rangers out there listen too this. Every time my elementalist faces a barrager/pet mast/trapper I die within seconds with my ele. So just warning you.
